Big Valley is home to four provincial Heritage sites, these include:

1912 Canadian Northern Railway Station

• 1912 Locomotive Roundhouse interpretive walk • 1916 St. Edmunds Anglican Church • 1960 Alberta Wheat Pool Grain Elevator

These exhibits are open during the Alberta Prairie Steam Excursions or by appointment.

HISTORICAL DISPLAYS

Jimmy Jock Boardwalk

o Old fashioned rustic boardwalk with a number of interesting shops selling fudge, honey, ice cream, lunch food, and other interesting wares.

1914 Original Jail Cell

o Located on Main Street, you can open up the cell and explore inside! Including various pieces of farm machinery and equipment along Railway Ave. to view.

Creation Science Museum

Vintage Tool & Collectables Museum

o Ph: 403-876-2242 o 39 Railway Ave. S o Rod & Ione Miller’s private collections on display, admission is charged.

McAlister Motors Museum

o Ph: 403-876-2593, 403-876-2409 o 57 Railway Ave.S o Antique trucks, cars, tractors, household antiques, and Big Valley historical information. o Two train cars filled with 1400 salt and pepper shakers. o Admission by donation. o Open June-September, Wed.-Sat. Off season by appointment only.

Canadian Railway Hall of Fame

o Kiosk highlighting famous railway persons. Located between the grain elevator and railway station.
