WATER PRESSURE - IDENTIFY YOUR SYSTEM To be sure you get the best performance from your tap you need to identify the plumbing system in your home to be able to determine the water pressure there.

Use the following information as a guide to help you to do this, it is recommended that you get the opinion of a professional tradesman who can check the pressure with a pressure gauge.

Gravity Fed (Low pressure) Systems • Cold water storage tank in loft • Hot water cylinder in airing cupboard • Hot water pressure is calculated by measuring the height from the storage tank to the tap Example 1M drop = 0.1 bar pressure 2M drop = 0.2 bar pressure 5M drop = 0.5 bar pressure

Boosted Gravity Fed Systems • Cold water storage tank in loft • Hot water cylinder in airing cupboard • Hot water pressure is determined by a separately fitted pump (refer to manufacturers specifications) Usual pressure 1-3 bar

Combination Boiler Systems • A combi boiler delivering hot and cold water on demand • No storage tanks • No shower pump • Hot water pressure is dictated by the mains pressure and power of the boiler Usual pressure between 1 and 1.5 bar

Mains High Pressure Systems • Unvented cylinder with expansion vessel (eg ‘Megaflo’) • No cold storage tanks • No shower pump • Hot water pressure is dictated by mains pressure Usual pressure between 2 and 3 bar

All taps are shown with a minimum operating pressure symbol as below. Use this symbol to select the correct tap for your water system; for example if you have a gravity fed system with a 5 metre drop you will have 0.5 bar pressure and you should choose a minimum 0.5 bar tap or lower. If you have a high pressure system for example 3 bar you can choose any of our taps.

Cold Start Energy saving cartridge means when the lever is in the vertical position, it only dispenses cold water and not mixed.

PACKAGING All our taps are supplied in robust boxes with protective foam individually protecting the tap and its separate parts, thus ensuring your tap arrives complete and in perfect condition.

Stainless Steel remains the most popular medium for kitchen sink production. It’s not difficult to realise when you consider it’s main attributes: Heat Resistant Stainless Steel is highly heat resistant, so much so that hot pans straight from the stove can rest safely on the sink - a highly useful thing when juggling the pasta.

Finishes

Hygienic A totally non-porous surface that is easy to keep clean and consequently more hygienic.

Impact Resistant Stainless Steel is the most forgiving material for impact and is the least likely material to damage your best china or glassware whilst remaining unscathed itself.

Care and Cleaning Bleach/Chlorides These are found in almost all cleaning solutions and detergents and if left on the sinks for long periods can be damaging. They are water soluble, however, if you rinse away residues after each use. A weekly clean with a stainless steel cleaner is all that is needed to keep your sink looking bright and shiny.

Brushed Finish distinctive grained finish that is ideal for matching with stainless steel appliances.

Satin Finish even soft silk finish.

Scratches Like most metallic finishes, your stainless steel sink will scratch. Don’t worry, these are simply usage marks that will eventually blend into the overall finish of the sink.

Water Quality The quality of your water can affect the appearance of your sink. When water has a high iron content a brown stain can form on the surface giving the appearance of rust. Remove mineral deposits and scaling by soaking in a solution of 3 parts hot water and 1 part white vinegar, and then dry it with a soft cloth to prevent further limescale build-up.

Plastic Washing-up Bowls It is not advisable to use a washing-up bowl as they tend to pick up grit particles and the bottom of the bowl can act like sandpaper leaving an area of concentrated tiny scratches. Instead try using a wire basket, these are available with most models.

Properties Heat Resistant: Ceramic is heat resistant to 1200° centigrade - this means pots from the stove and casserole dishes straight from the oven can safely rest on a ceramic sink.

Hygienic: Totally non-porous, the ultra smooth surface is the most hygienic material for sinks and the easiest to keep clean.

Chemical Resistant: Resistant to all household chemicals including neat bleach.

Extreme Hardness: Extremely resistant to impact, the surface is so hard cutlery won’t scratch the glazed surface through normal use.

Tap Holes Chargeable knock-out service available on request

To maintain the sink’s good looks avoid using abrasive cleaners, as they will dull the surface.

Instead, weekly clean with a dilute solution of bleach which will keep the surface shiny and hygienic. Remove mineral deposits and scaling by soaking in a solution of 3 parts hot water and 1 part white vinegar. Aluminium marks left by saucepans can be removed using ‘Shiny Sink’ or ‘Astonish’ Paste. Always finish off by rinsing your sink with clean water to remove any residue, and then dry it with a soft cloth to prevent limescale build-up.

The dimensions of ceramic sinks may vary by +/- 2% from those given due to natural shrinkage and expansion during the manufacturing process.
