Situated on a countoured slope, a bathhouse was formed by organizing program by edges, leaving the center as a triangular circulation path that connects access points for various interior conditions. A concrete roof rests on timber trusses, as displayed in the following 1/16” =1’ section model chunk.

A pre-curser to part II, this bathhouse structure’s site is a beachfront, with only 3-foot step-up to street level from the sand. The model is made from 4-ply museum board, to show how interior conditions are effected by truss span and variation.

Handcrafted alabaster mineral was shaped, 3D-scanned and imported to Rhino for render. Translation of aerodynamic properties were explored via tuft test in wind tunnel, exhibiting wind-channeling abilities to prevent wind sheer force on highrise strctures. An example of phrase coined by BIG “engineering without engines”
