Join a Chapter Committee
The Chesapeake Region Chapter is always looking for new volunteers to serve on our committees! Below are the descriptions, chairs and meeting times of our 2022 committees as well as their purpose and goals. If you are interested in serving on one of our committees, please contact the Chapter office at contact@caimdches.org.
BUSINESS PARTNER ADVISORY
To advise the Chapter on all matters that impact Business Partners (BP) which includes 1) identifying, defining, and pricing potential sponsorships, 2) creating new sponsorship possibilities, 3) developing educational programs for BP that includes how to leverage a CAI membership to improve your business and best practices for working with community managers and boards. The goal of this Committee is to improve the number and engagement of BP members and to ensure BP members feel they are receiving the most of their membership and sponsorship(s). This committee meets on the fourth Thursday of the
month at 9:00 am .

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
To identify and develop communication materials for the Chapter. The committee shall identify themes and campaigns that the Chapter can use each year to create impactful communication to its members. These would include, but are not limited to, email campaigns for events and membership drives and any print material that is created throughout the year. The Committee will also identify new forms of communication that the Chapter could use (e.g., video emails) and evaluate its success of its current communications (email open rate, click through, etc.). This committee meets on the fourth Monday of
the month at 10:00 am .

DELMARVA COMMITTEE
Develop and plan for implementation of educational activities, strategies and networking events to promote education and recruitment of new members and retaining current members on the Eastern Shore of Maryland & Delaware Beaches, in accordance with the Board’s directives while promoting the value of CAI membership to prospective members on the Eastern Shore. This Committee meets on the second
Monday of the month at 2:00 pm .

EDUCATION COMMITTEE
To identify, plan, market and implement educational programs for all Chapter members, and as required by the Board and national CAI, in accordance with the Board’s directives. Such programs may include the Chapter’s monthly breakfast seminars, homeowner classes, topics for the Chapter’s annual Expo and Symposium, and any other educational programs, as determined by the Board. Volunteer seminar coordinators for the breakfast programs will be solicited from among the membership. The committee may be asked to assist the seminar coordinators, Board and Chapter Staff in identifying, contacting, and coordinating speakers for such programs. This committee meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 9:30 am.

EXPO COMMITTEE
To plan, market and implement the Chapter’s annual Expo and Symposium, which shall include networking opportunities and educational programs for all Chapter members, in accordance with the Board’s directive. To assist the Board and Chapter Staff to identify, plan, promote, and generate financial support for the annual Expo and Symposium through various means such as, sponsorships, donations, registration fees, and fund-raisers, in accordance with the Board’s directives. This committee meets on the second Tuesday of the month
at 9:30 am .

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
To develop, plan activities and strategies for recruiting new members and retaining current members, in accordance with the Board’s directives. To welcome new members and provide information regarding the Chapter, its members, and the benefits of membership. To assist new members and existing members in becoming acquainted with other members and available Chapter resources. To provide mentorship to new and existing members. To promote the value of CAI to the membership and general public. To help formulate marketing plans/ideas to further the Chapters membership. This
committee meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 1:00 pm .

GOLF COMMITTEE
To plan, market and implement an annual Golf event for all Chapter members, in accordance with the Board’s directive. The Golf event should include proposed programs for networking among the members during the Golf event. To assist the Board and Chapter Staff to identify, plan, promote, and generate financial support for the Golf event through various means such as, sponsorships, donations, registration fees, and fund-raisers. This committee meets on the third
Friday of the month at 9:30 am .

NEWSLETTER COMMITTEE
To assist the Board and Chapter Staff with obtaining, reviewing and editing articles, advertisements, and other content for the Beacon Newsletter, in accordance with the Board’s directive. Articles should be timely and provide information to the membership on events, trends, legislation, governance issues, etc., that are relevant to CAI, the Chapter, community associations, and industry professionals. Articles should not be advertisement pieces for any particular company. This
committee meets on the first Thursday of the month at 10:00 am .

LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE
The newly formed Chesapeake Region Chapter’s Legislative Committee will assist the MD-LAC by informing the MD-LAC of issues encountered by Chapter members requiring a legislative solution at the State level and will provide the MD-LAC with input on legislation introduced at the State level impacting only a certain county. The Chapter Legislative Committee will monitor and influence legislation at the county level in those area in Maryland and Delaware within the Chapter’s region. This committee meets on the second
Thursday of the month at 4:00 pm .

SOCIAL COMMITTEE
To plan, market and implement an annual Social or other Social Activities for all Chapter members that may be entertaining and provides an environment conducive to networking and also provides an avenue to recognize volunteers and Board Members for their terms of service for the year trying to build attendance and net a profit in accordance with Board’s directives.
