Networking Events

Along with education and advocacy, another goal of our Chapter is to foster professional networking opportunities. Our 2021 networking events began with our first ever Charting Your Course with the Chesapeake Region Chapter. This kickoff event not only helped to plot our course for the year but gave members a chance to identify volunteering opportunities within our Chapter.

CRAB FEAST

By July, we were back to in-person, outdoor events. Our first in-person event since February of 2020 was our Crab Feast held on July 12th in Centennial Park in Ellicott City, MD. This was the first time our Chapter held a Crab Feast and it was a wonderful opportunity to see everyone after being apart for so long. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Crab Feast again in 2022.

ANNUAL GOLF OUTING

Our second networking event of 2021 was our Annual Golf Outing held at Norbeck Country Club. We celebrated our 25th Anniversary Outing on Monday, August 30th, hosting over 200 people with 128 golfers taking the course in a four-person scramble format. It was one of the largest golf outings we have had, and we look forward to returning to Norbeck Country Club again in 2022.

SUPPORTING OUR REGION

In 2021, our LEAD and Social Committees led a philanthropic charge to help those in our region.

In October, our LEAD Committee organized the Month of Good which prompted our members to do

acts of good within our region and share their good acts across social media. To help promote this event and the good that our members were doing, sponsors supported the initiative by making donations directly to the Special

Olympics of Maryland or Delaware.

In addition to the LEAD Committee, the Social Committee continued to raise money for the Maryland Food Bank and organized a food drive for the Ronald McDonald House at the holiday Breakfast Seminar held on December 8th. Our members responded by bringing many bags and boxes of food that were delivered to the Ronald McDonald House (pictured below). In addition to the good acts that were done around our region, the LEAD Committee raised $2,000 for the Special Olympics of Maryland and Delaware.
