A message from the Sale Manager:
On behalf of Duane and the other sale contributors, I would like to welcome you to the pages of the 2023 ‘Share The Vision’ Sale Catalog. This is the fifth edition of the ‘Share The Vision’ Sale.
What a great market we have in this beef complex. As we turn the corner back to expansion of the US Beef Cowherd, we are seeing record prices across the board for quality bred cows, bred heifers & open heifer calves.
Duane loves to say, we want to offer “Something for Everyone.” This is a solid offering that includes donor quality females and their influence in the form of bred heifers and open heifer calves that will suit the most discriminating. A sound investment in quality genetics as we move forward will continue to be the foundation of your ability to pursue success in the show ring and enhance profitable purebred beef production.
If I can be of any assistance as you study this information packed sale catalog, please feel free to contact me at any time.
Sincerely,
Alan Sears, Sears Marketing ServicesSELLING 50 LOTS

Like his sire, Studer’s Taylor Made, daughters are the kind to lead any cow herd. This is a herd sire with tremendous influence in this sale. This offering includes his service & progeny that are impressive.

I would like to welcome everyone to the “Share the Vision” sale this year! It has been and amazing 12 months since last year’s sale. Cedar Lane Farm was honored by the Ohio Cattleman’s Association in January with the 2022 Seed Stock producer of the year award. Susie and I are very honored to be only the 3rd Shorthorn Breeder in Ohio that has won this award. To join the ranks of Byland and Paint Valley is a very high achievement that helps us to see the work we do as a team is seen by others. Also, in the same month we were fortunate to have a heifer we sold last summer be picked as the National Jr. Heifer Champion at Cattlemen’s Congress in Oklahoma City! This is what we have strived to do for the last 10 years, now you have in this sale an opportunity to purchase a full sib to that heifer as a pregnancy. Maybe lighting can strike twice! We were fortunate enough at the Ohio State Fair to be both Premier Breeder and Exhibitor which shows how competitive our cattle are.

Last year I told a story about my dad saying that a cow doesn’t have good calf until she was 10, I have to think he must been watching as CLF Proud Fool 1207 at 11 years old has had a great year and has produced the best she has ever had. Three of these calves are available today. These calves will become great individuals and cows that will have longevity that will remain in your herd for a long time.
In closing, I would like to say thanks to all the folks who purchased in the past, those that helped at shows and especially Bruce Fredrick our embryologist who has really help our operation! Last and not least my wife of 40 years who is the backbone of the operation, since retiring she is the main reason the cattle look the way they do! If you want to know any of the nick names of the calves ask her!
Thanks for coming!

A really nice Vortec Riders daughter from the Rains herd in Pennsylvania. Her mating to Ain’t No Foolin’, who sired the Jr. Show Grand Champion at Cattlemen’s Congress in January, should produce one you will like. Check out her heifer calf by PVF Fierce selling in this sale. Fierce sired the Champion Shorthorn Steer at the 2023 Minnesota State Fair!

We should have named this one Fancy, as she really is! Here is a stylish heifer calf that is made very well with great angles and structure! With her eye-catching color pattern, she should be a fun one this winter and down the road into next year’s show season. She’ll only get better with age.
