This is our seventh edition of the Fall Harvest Shorthorn Production Sale. It has been a pleasure to work with sale hosts, Bryan & Marti Warner, Warner Ranch, Riverton, Wyoming and the other consignors. We have learned and grown through the first six sales as we work to offer you a quality, reliable & practical set of Shorthorn & Shorthorn Plus cattle. It is our goal to continue to improve our breeding programs to provide genetics that will work for you, our valued customers.

We realize 2018/2019 have been challenging due to the tough winter weather, record flooding and uncertain markets though the fall, winter, spring & summer in our in our main trade area.

However, The Beef Complex remains very strong with the export market at records levels and strong domestic beef sales point to solid profitability opportunities for all of us as we move into the fourth quarter of 2019 and beyond. A sound investment in quality genetics as we move forward will continue to be the foundation of your ability to pursue profitable beef production.

Dear Shorthorn Friends, Welcome to the 2019 Fall Harvest Sale! This year’s sale will feature a large group of outstanding, well-bred Shorthorn females and heifer calves representing some of the top genetics in the breed. Our fellow consignors and friends are offering the best of their herds. These cattle will display a diversity of genetics and type, but all will be uniform for quality. You will find excellent Shorthorn females throughout this sale.

There will be cattle available which will be suitable for a wide variety of programs and landscapes. This year there are two new consignors, which will present an opportunity to invest in some new genetics.

The cattle at Warner Ranch Shorthorns, in Riverton, Wyoming, are managed like a commercial herd. A cow is expected to raise a calf every year and maintain her body condition efficiently. Our program has focused on calving ease and maternal strength. We have selected cattle which possess plenty of natural muscle and are structurally sound, with much consideration given to good feet and legs, and udders which will hold up over a cow’s breeding career. Our cattle represent the strong influence of the Canadian Shorthorn bulls we have chosen as our herd sires as well as other outstanding domestic Shorthorn bulls that we have selected to impact our herd. If you are looking for a solution to lower birth weights and moderate frame size, please consider these females.

Here at Warner Ranch we have two new herd sires and are offering for the first time, semen packages for CCS Bold 228C and Muridale Raw Hide 6E as well as semen packages for Muridale Skoll 38Y. Semen will be available at the sale, so be sure to bring your tank. Some of our heifers are bred to Raw Hide, which offers an exciting prospect to see his first offspring in the US. Those heifers that are bred to A.I. sires carry some powerful genetics. Look carefully over this set of females, they have potential to have a positive influence to your own herd.
