Welcome to the 17th annual Chestnut Angus Bull Sale. We are so blessed to offer you the most exciting bulls ever raised here at CN. The calves weaned off heavier than they ever have and it was a hard decision on what should be included in this sale offering but we only keep what we would personally use on our cows.

Now is sure a great time to be in the cattle business. The cattlemen and their families are enjoying record high calf prices this year and I firmly believe there is more to look forward to. As the demand continues to grow for high quality beef, it is time to use bulls with the most performance you can buy. The more performance in the bull, the more profit you make in the fall! We always strive for heavier weaning weight and I know this year we have achieved it. The cows have really earned their keep around here and I contribute that to years of selection of top bulls we have used. It takes a high quality female to produce a great bull and years of breeding dedication to raise a high quality set of bulls like these in this year’s offering. They have great structure, bone, big foot, eye appeal, and most of all pounds. We also have a nice offering of bred heifers, and are dispersing the boys’ club calf cows and SimAngus cows to make room for more purebred Angus cows. Some of these cows originated from Phil Raml as 4-H projects for the boys. There is a lot of good genetics in these cows and are bred to a full brother of Dream Catcher. You make our decisions harder every year, but I have always been up for a challenge. It drives me to breed better quality cattle every year. They have worked hard to develop these bulls on the right rations to be successful for you. It truly means a lot to us! I really think he is going to change up the Angus world.

This year we are dispersing our commercial cowherd. Our family has chosen to focus more on our Registered Angus seedstock herd and is offering this group for sale.

This group consists of commercial Maine x Angus, Simmental x Angus, Chi/Maine x Angus females.

The bulk of these female originate from the Raml herd at Goodwin, SD. Many of these either were or are daughters of Wesly and Dawson’s previous show heifers.

This would be a great group of cows to add to a club calf program or make into fancy commercial cows that will make stylish replacements and feeder cattle.
