Dear Angus Breeders and friends, On behalf of the Sankey and Hurlbut families and guests we would like to extend a welcome and thank-you to everyone that has taken time to read through the catalog or call with interest in our offering! This year marks our 25th year anniversary! Forbes has paved a way in the industry in several breeds beyond Angus with his progeny that are having great success in the showring.

We are humbled and blessed that with his success in the showring he is a breeding bull that is leaving his mark in the beef industry.

This awesome offering of females will be successful for you as a breeder in the replacement pen, donor pen and showring. Everyone’s environment and management is a bit different so the challenge of having cattle that adapt and go out and perform keeps us always trying to move forward! We believe you can raise cattle that cover more than one segment in our industry. We have a nice variety in this offering for you to choose from. The summer has seen extremes all over the US and that challenges us all.

is a strong supporter of the National Junior Angus Association and all the events OUR family they put on! Starting with Sharee attending the first ever NJAS to Cody and Jeana being

active members of the NJAA and exhibitors at the NJAS along with Jeana serving as vice chairman of the NJAA Board. We are excited for the next generation to take part in this organization when Bayler, Caroline, Cyrus and Mattie start showing. Our family loves to exhibit cattle and take part in Angus cattle shows. We have firm belief though that we don’t raise show cattle, we just show our cattle! Shane Bedwell said it best when he said, “make a cow a show heifer not a show heifer a cow.”

We have a family policy that these females have to be able to ranch the rest of their life as mama cows after their 18 month show career is over.

The American Angus Association has been offering Phenotype & Genotype shows the past couple of years. We think the creation of this show was great for those of us who still make a living raising cows, selling bulls and enjoy showing cattle. We think it’s an important part of breeding good cattle to consider the phenotype and genetics of each animal and this show provides youth the opportunity to showcase cattle that excel in those areas.

We are excited to offer an incentive program for both the owned show ring, and the Phenotype & Genotype show ring, for heifers purchased from us in one of our upcoming sales. We will be offering sale credit awards starting at the county fair level, working all the way up to the Roll Of Victory junior shows and the National Junior Angus Show.

She has not only done that, but she laid the foundation for what our herd is built upon today and has exceeded any expectations we have ever dreamt of. We identified her daughter, Sankey Ruth 934 as the next step in the process of creating cattle that have excellent phenotype matched with breed leading data. Ruth 934 is a powerhouse phenotypical and combines this with stellar genetic predictors and she has proved to be a prolific donor that has taken us to that next level.
