We play with old photography and antique illustrations, vintage drawings and contemporary patterns, trying to create fabulous decorative goods. Who we are?

What makes us different?

Why are we unique? We are collectors of feelings, emotions and memories. We have individual taste, and personal style; we see different details in everything that surrounds us, and we always search for emotional treasures that make us feel alive.

We believe in the human power to make everything beautiful.

In fact, this was the motivation when we started to create our third wallpaper collection, The Wallpaper Collectables.

We began to search for new stories and patterns that, in addition to being decorative and stylish, also have something in common: they are collectables. The result is a collection comprised of 10 amazing themes inspired by different memories gathered from all over the world. We take you into a design journey inviting you to rediscover beautiful natural elements, creations of artisans, and vintage aesthetic values.

You will be fascinated as you explore the natural curiosities of deep underwater life, and enjoy an extravagant floral story with amazing illustrations collected from different continents. Then you will be invited to resonate with one of the most charming aesthetic concepts – Wabi Sabi – in our collection called Impermanence, dedicated to the impressive Japanese traditional style. Scouring the art history for immortal beauties we retrieve the grandiose Renaissance and its fabulous decorative designs extracted from Italian and French culture. And because we are so in love with vintage fabrics, we bring to life a unique selection of different old textiles collected from Rajasthan, England, Persia and Japan.

Keeping the nomadic style in our minds we show you some Bohemian whimsy patterns with a dash of hippie floral motifs and moody colours ready to cheer you up. And then we go a bit modern with brilliant Manhattan architecture’s inspired story, the Nouvelle Pop collection with its daring designs. Last but not least, the luxurious Palm Springs theme with stunning tropical elements and rich colour palette complete everything.

ATOLL We have been always mesmerized by the marvellous of sub aquatic life. Thousands of corals and millions of marine species dwell in the deep blue side of the world with its fabulous colours and natural textures. Atoll means a coral reef including the coral rim that encircles a lagoon.

Hippie Spirit Our way of emphatize with bohemian style is to be inspired from the lifestyle of the beautiful Gypsy people. Their nomadic souls are often surrounded by positive vibes, with genuine music and traditional customs supporting a carefree lifestyle. Searching for the patterns and motifs to create this collection, we found a few curious designs in our Transylvanian Gypsy culture.

This time we chose another stunning place for breathing in tropical inspiration.

We wanted to be modern but also retro, luxurious and stylish with loads of green and clean lines, as well as some light pink and mint-green hues. These key words took us to the unique Palm Springs, the famous resort city of California.

IMPERMANENCE There are many definitions for Wabi Sabi, but for us the most reasonable description says that it is a beauty which is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. Our Impermanence story is an introduction in Wabi Sabi aesthetic. And we have to admit it was one of the most inspiring stories, but it was also one of the hardest that we have ever designed for. We played with vintage textured paper, with old Japanaese book covers and antique illustrations to create an imperfect collection.

FLORILEGIUM Have you ever imagined how life would be without the beauty of flowers? Without cherry blossoms or sophisticated roses; with no frangipani scent, and no lily softness. No more flowering hydrangeas, no beautiful tiger tulips, and no more summer flower bouquets to bring home to your loved ones. Having all these thoughts in our minds, we took the challenge of creating a new collection dedicated to the beauty of flowers. We collected several old illustrations and hand drawings created by famous navigators, and we recoloured, rescaled and transformed all the beauties in stunning patterns.

We resized and recoloured the original patterns to create new unique statement designs with bold, rich details. The Renaissance was also famous for the diversity of colours and the metallic leaf technique used in all ornaments and decorations.

Our fascination with textiles of the world has us searching for undiscovered or less popular vintage fabrics that could be transposed in wallpapers. This process lead us to the stunning textiles of the nomad peoples of Asia. Their way of living in harsh weather conditions and scouring their lands for a better life helped them develop not only beautiful but very useful fabrics. Just remember the stunning Kilim carpets or the hand woven wool blankets made with amazing colours. Not choosing a very precise place for inspiration helped us to collect fabrics made with different styles and techniques, but with a similar appearance. We are proud to introduce to you five gorgeous designs with ancient patterns and beautiful colours that will make you crazy for Nomad.

Nippon love Boro and Shibori are two of the most commonly known Japanese textile techniques. Both working mostly in Indigo hues, they are very popular in the traditional school of Japan simply because they are fabulous. If Boro means to stitch together different patches of worn fabrics, Shibori is a totally different technique using the tie dye procedure where cotton or linen pieces are folded and dipped several times in indigo vats.

In our research process of finding the most beautiful fabrics for our world culture inspiration story, we had to make a stop in the Highlands. This story-like realm keeps one of the most beautiful European textile heritages: the tartans. Originated in woven wool, tartans are associated often with Scotland, those famous kilts of the Scottish men always made of tartan patterns. In the past, the Highland tartans were associated with regions or districts of Scotland, rather than clans. Being produce by local weavers, each design was influenced by local tastes and made with natural dyes available in that area.

RAJASTHAN

Probably the most fascinating place to discover authentic materials is Rajasthan. This area in the north-western side of India is like a temple for everything related to natural fabrics and different ancient techniques used to produces beautiful textiles. Woodblock prints, embroidery, kantha stitching, and piece dyed fabrics are all being done here by hand using the most traditional ways of creation. Once you get caught in this amazing world of fabrics, you will end up by searching and collecting them purely because they are stunning statement fabrics with fabulous colours and bold motifs. This is how we felt in love with some of the patterns which we are happy to share with you in this new collection.

This collection has been split in two different versions. One being made in the classic MINDTHEGAP style with 10 designs printed on a premium non-woven coated wallpaper. The other one, called Metallic Edition, is a bit different than what we have produced before. We choose a new substrate and finishing for this collection that was made in England on a non-woven premium grade wallcovering. We imagined this special edition on a smooth satin surface and we have printed everything with metallic inks.

Our wallpaper features One of the special features of our wallpaper is the quality of the substrate.

We choose to work with a premium grade non-woven wallcovering and this makes all the difference. Non-woven wallpapers are the latest trend in decorating.

They are made of a special blend of natural and synthetic fiber, creating a wallcovering that is tear-resistant, can be soft washed, and offers a good breathability to the walls. Because of these features, the non-woven wallpaper can be used in bathrooms or kitchens, not in the water exposed areas, of course. Our wallpapers are also user-friendly and eco-friendly because of the inks we print with. Actually, we found out that our wallpapers are even vegan, meaning that they have no animal origin compounds in their composition. It’s funny that we found out this “extra” feature when one of the interior decor magazine from UK has asked us if we have vegan wallpaper. What?!
