Humboldt County is known the world over as the home of the Giant Sequoias. Half of the remaining old growth survivors of this ancient species reside here, including the world’s tallest tree in Redwood National Park and the towering champions along the Avenue of the Giants.

Their magnificent size and age, and the quiet of the groves has inspired many artists, writers and musicians, but they need to be experienced in person. Smaller redwood forests impress, but here in Humboldt County, standing amongst the giants stirs profound emotions.
