Saint-Gobain Life Sciences in Beaverton is Gladwin County’s largest employer with nearly 400 employees at the site in 2022. However, the location is just one of 30 manufacturing sites in 13 countries for the Life Sciences division of Saint-Gobain. A global company based in France, Saint-Gobain employs 180,000 people around the globe. That being said, the Beaverton location plays a major role in the global market for pharmaceutical and medical grade silicone tubing and assemblies. Products manufactured at the site for various customers have global reaches that includes making drug therapies for vaccines and cancer treatments. An innovative company where 1 in 4 products made today did not exist five years ago, Saint-Gobain products made in Beaverton impact many sectors of the economy, but focus primarily on Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, Automotive, and Aerospace markets.

In 2022, Saint-Gobain was awarded Global Top Employer certification by the Top Employers Institute for the seventh consecutive year. Only 11 companies in the world have received this label in 2022. The Top Employer label recognizes the world’s best companies by studying the HR and career development processes of each company in each of their countries and an audit covering more than 400 working condition practices.

The Beaverton location has earned many awards. Most recently, the site has been awarded the Saint-Gobain Life Sciences Site of the Year, Saint-Gobain Life Sciences Top Safety Performance & Culture Award, and the Gladwin County Employer of the Year Award from MichiganWorks! Region 7B.
