A WORD FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Greetings STE(A)M Truck friends and supporters,

STE(A)M Truck is proud to celebrate another year of impact on youth and educators across Metro Atlanta. This year with your support we connected youth with the tools and technology to _________ and we launched our Educator Community of Practice, connecting educators with real tools and curriculum to prepare students for STEM careers across Georgia. Through it all, we led with joy and energy, celebrating the brilliance of our youth and partner educators.

We still need your support to ensure more youth have access to relevant, career-connected STEM content. We know that together, we can provide kids often left out of STEM a pathway to rewarding life and community-changing STEM careers.

As we look forward to the new year and STE(A)M Truck’s 10th anniversary, we are excited to focus in 2 main areas, increasing our impact on youth, primarily in 3rd-8th grades and expanding the capacity of inschool and out-of-school educators. Leading with our values of equity, inclusion and belonging, experiential learning,

innovation,

and

partnership,

STE(A)M

Truck

is

ready

to

Georgia’s

opportunities to thrive in STEAM pathways and careers.

We are excited to continue the work of unleashing the creativity of youth and enable them to design the lives and future communities of their dreams.

PROGRAMS & SERVICES

HANDS-ON PROGRAMMING

STE(A)M Trucks roll up to each site with all they need to create a “hands-on, minds-on” maker experience for students. Each STE(A)M Truck is a mobile innovation lab equipped with the best available high-tech and low-tech tools, and kids will see (and appreciate) that at first contact. Program Instructors are there to guide students through distinctive lessons, helping them learn to safely operate real tools and machines. These programs can be a single-day or extend to multiple-week engagements where kids will get their hands dirty and make and design things like sneakers, geodesic domes, pyramid planters, and rockets.

TEACHER PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

STE(A)M Truck Teacher Engagement empowers faculty and staff to incorporate more tools, technologies, and problembased activities into their lessons with our Professional Learning Experiences. These experiences are prepared with the teacher in mind and put the educator’s needs at the center. Faculty and staff are invited into an open, comfortable space where they are treated as professionals and all learn together.

INNOVATIVE CURRICULUM DESIGN

The STE(A)M Trucks bring a powerful, authentic curriculum that puts students first. Whether the focus is on building a pyramid planter or designing a rocket, each lesson is created by going straight to experts in the field and incorporating information gained into every lesson plan. STE(A)M Truck curricula are for every single student. Using the Universal Design for Learning guidelines, we work hard to ensure that ALL learners can access and participate in meaningful, challenging learning opportunities
