Mrs. Amy Robertson’s generous commitment to the spiritual life of our school community is an extraordinary gift to St. Columba School. Volunteering her time and talent, she ensures our weekly Masses uphold the reverence, beauty, and dignity worthy of the Eucharistic celebration. With deep faith and pastoral sensitivity, Amy supports our teachers in their lay ministerial role as catechists, guiding them through the process of planning class-led liturgies with thoughtful preparation and joy. Amy has built and continually enhances an extensive repository of liturgical resources—offering guidance, inspiration, and structure to help elevate our worship. Her availability to collaborate with both teachers and students enriches the school’s sacramental life, helping all participants grow closer to the Word and the Truth. With a lifetime of experience and formation in Catholic liturgy and catechesis, Amy remains a humble learner, always seeking new ways to deepen her ministry. We are grateful for her zeal, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to glorifying God through our communal worship.
St Columba School is blessed with a dedicated team focused on the academic, emotional, and spiritual growth of our elementary students Working closely with teachers and parents, they create individualized plans, monitor student progress, and adapt strategies to support each learner Rooted in Catholic values and modern best practices, the team avoids labels and instead focuses on each child’s strengths and potential. Through collaboration, compassion, and professional excellence, they help our students become the people God calls them to be.
At St. Columba, academic excellence is both a tradition and a mission renewed through innovation and faith. Our middle school teachers embody this by implementing Universal Design for Learning (UDL), an inclusive framework that supports diverse learners through flexible teaching practices. Over the past two years, faculty have embraced UDL’s core principles multiple means of representation, expression, and engagement ensuring all students can access meaningful, goal-driven instruction. This thoughtful blend of tradition and innovation allows students to thrive both academically and spiritually.
St. Columba School's financial overview for the year reflects a position of stability and responsible stewardship, underscoring our commitment to mission-driven excellence. Total revenue reached $3,012,203, with the largest portion—over $1.6 million—coming from tuition and fees, followed by $750,000 in education services revenue. Additional support included $210,777 from fundraising efforts and nearly $350,000 from grants and gifts, both restricted and unrestricted, demonstrating the strength of our community’s generosity and support.
On the expense side, the school prioritized classroom investment, allocating $1,409,983 to faculty compensation and $279,143 to classroom operations Building operations and general administration accounted for $250,616 and $364,847 respectively, while facility rental costs totaled $691,522. Together, these figures highlight a well-balanced fiscal approach, ensuring the sustainability of our academic mission while continuing to provide a nurturing, faith-centered environment for our students.
St. Columba School is proud to continue its innovative public-private partnership with the Columba Enrichment Program, a public BOCES (Board of Cooperative Education Services) entity, which provides enrichment and educational services to nearly every student enrolled at our school. Through this partnership, our students participate in dual enrollment, allowing the school to benefit from a portion of the State Per Pupil Revenue.
This funding has enabled us to invest over $240,000 directly into student and teacher support services. These new enhancements include additional physical resources, added instructional staff, and expanded educational materials that enrich the student experience, as well as professional development, instructional coaching, and curriculum support for our teachers.
Additionally, this revenue stream has created the opportunity for the school to begin compensating the parish for facility use an important milestone after more than 140 years of generous, rent-free space. By establishing a rental agreement at industry standards, we are taking a significant step toward providing seed funding for our 10-year capital improvement plan, especially the critical first and second phases

In addition to paying tuition, our school families participate in vital annual fundraising to help bridge the gap between the real cost to educate a child and what we receive in tuition revenue.
Our annual Day of Giving provides critical operational funding needed to ensure we continue to provide quality, mission-driven education as described in this annual report. Last school year our annual fundraising campaign raised $210,777, which along with grants, parish support, and education services revenue, allowed us to balance the budget.
Your participation in the Day of Giving Annual Campaign demonstrates your commitment to St Columba and the future of our students Each gift, regardless of size, makes an enormous impact in reaching our goals. While the total amount raised is critical, so too is the level of participation. As always, our goal is to reach 100% participation from the parent body and the greater school and parish community. All donations to the Annual Campaign are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
The Day of Giving is crucial to our annual financial stability and is distinct from other donation opportunities, such as our ongoing charitable outreach programs, our Adopt-a-Student Fund, or our capital campaign for facility improvements. For any questions about St. Columba fundraising, please contact Principal Chick
At St. Columba, K-8 tuition covers less than 50% of operations costs. The total cost to educate a child is $12,855, which leaves a funding gap of $ per student.
