Our team has been diligently working to create a diverse range of recreation activities and events for individuals of all ages and interests Whether you are a nature lover as we have over 100 parks and the beautiful Munsinger & Clemens Gardens (ranked 8th in the Nation) or someone looking to explore new hobbies, there is something for everyone in our catalog.

Registration Policies

Total fee must be paid at the time of registration. We reserve the right to cancel any programs if needed Full refunds will be issued if a class is cancelled by the St Cloud Park & Recreation Department.

Cancelations made by the department will be sent via email to the email address listed on the account used to register Refunds will be made to the original payment method

Waiting lists will be started if programs fill. Additional or expanded programs may be formed if possible. A receipt may be emailed as a confirmation Further confirmations will not be sent by mail, phone, or fax When registering over the phone, you are officially agreeing to the liability and photo waivers. Many participants in our programs have a peanut or nut allergy For the safety and enjoyment of everyone in our programs, please pack nut-free snacks for your child when attending St Cloud Park & Recreation programming.

Non-Resident Fees

City of St Cloud property tax payers subsidize the cost of operating facilities and programs as well as the maintenance of City Parks Participants and organizations who live outside the city limits of the City of St. Cloud are asked to contribute these to costs through Non-Resident Fees. Non-Resident Fees equal 20% of the fee, prior to sales tax

Financial Assistance

We want everyone to be able to come out and play! Financial Aid Grants are available to assist those who may have difficulty paying for Recreation programs. Aid is granted on a sliding scale determined by family size and family income (income must be verified by last year’s income tax form) Please submit the Financial Assistance Form, along with your tax form and a registration form for your selected activities

Sensory Kit Checkout

St Cloud Park & Recreation is excited to introduce sensory kit backpacks for checkout to children ages 3+ and adults, available for use while at Whitney Recreation Center and during department-sponsored events. Our goal is to ensure that all participants feel comfortable and can fully enjoy recreational activities in our community Visit the Whitney Recreation Center Front Desk or the Park & Recreation tent at an event to check out a sensory kit Kits are free and are available on a first-come, first-served basis You will be asked to provide your name, phone number, and a form of ID as a temporary hold while using the kit at our facility or event.

The Riverside Park shelter will be open for public use on select Sundays this winter with the fireplace roaring to warm up between your activity sessions! No registration is required Snowshoes and sleds may be checked out for free use during this time Supply is limited and first come, first served; you will be asked to provide your name, phone number, and a form of ID as a temporary hold while using the equipment.

Experience the magic of winter with our intergenerational “Snowshoeing for Beginners” program partnership with Whitney Senior Center! Discover the fundamentals of snowshoeing with expert guidance from Fitzharris Ski, Bike & Outdoor instructors, then set off to explore the park and fine-tune your technique! After your snowy adventure, warm up with a cozy cup of hot chocolate by the fireplace in the shelter Pre-registration is required; maximum 20 participants per session. Snowshoes will be available for use to participants at no cost.

NEW! Puzzle Palooza

Gather your friends, family, or colleagues for the ultimate puzzle showdown! In teams of 2-4, race to complete a 500-piece puzzle in the shortest time Identical puzzles will be provided and revealed only at the start! All materials are provided, and prizes will be awarded to the top teams. Intergenerational teams are encouraged to join in on the fun! Stick around afterward for a coffee & tea social hour to celebrate and connect with fellow puzzlers The deadline to register is Friday, February 14th. Lake George Warming Shelter

The Lake George Warming Shelter will be open for public use during the times listed below, with the start date dependent on weather and ice conditions For everyone’s safety, the shelter may close due to adverse weather conditions; please tune into WJON or check out our social media for updates. No one is permitted on the ice at Lake George until it has been officially declared safe by the City.

Don’t have skates? Thanks to donations from local businesses, community groups, and residents, we have a variety of ice skates available for free use during warming shelter hours, though we can’t guarantee all sizes We also have skate trainers, broomball equipment, and hockey nets available for free checkout - you will be asked to provide your name, phone number, and a form of ID as a temporary hold while using the equipment.

We are currently seeking donations of new or gently used ice skates, hockey skates, and hockey equipment (such as sticks, nets, and more) for our “Project Warming Shelter” at Lake George Donations can be dropped off at Whitney Recreation Center or the Lake George Warming Shelter during open hours. Your contributions will help us provide winter fun for everyone in the community!

The beauty of St. Cloud's Munsinger Gardens provides the ideal setting for wedding ceremonies and posed photography sessions. This "botanical room" provides a private setting within the beauty of the gardens

Ceremonies are held in the Special Events Area on the southern end of Munsinger Gardens. Photography sessions, including weddings, family, senior photos, etc., are allowed by permit throughout the rest of the Munsinger Gardens There is a 50-person limit for all Ceremonies and Photography Sessions in Munsinger Gardens. Additionally, photography sessions may be booked for Clemens Gardens with a 12-person limit. All reservations are scheduled in 2-hour time blocks. These reservations are booked between 4pm-7pm on weekdays; 10am-7pm on Saturdays; and at 10am on Sundays. Reservations are still available for 2024 and 2025; 2026 reservations open January 2nd, 2025.

Can I reserve picnic tables in a City of St. Cloud park?

Unless inside a reservable park shelter (Riverside, Wilson, and Lions Parks), all picnic tables in City of St Cloud parks are first-come, first served

Are park permits and/or park shelter reservations refundable?

Our cancelation policy is as follows:

If a reservation is canceled 30 or more calendar days before the event, the total fee will be refunded, minus a $16.00 Administrative Fee.

If a reservation is canceled and fewer than 30 days remain before the event, only 50% of the total fee will be refunded, minus a $16 00 Administrative Fee Day-of event cancelations due to severe weather only are subject to review by the Park and Recreation Director for any refunds.

Whitney Park: Beer or wine may be consumed at Whitney Park if they were first purchased from the vendors located at that facility or when permitted by section 236:15. subd. 17.

Lake George: Alcoholic beverages may not be consumed, possessed in the Lake George Complex or anywhere on Eastman Park grounds except as pursuant to a temporary on-sale liquor license that has been granted pursuant to section 810:05.

Can I camp in a City of St. Cloud park?

Camping is prohibited in all City of St Cloud parks - this includes tents, shacks, or any other temporary shelter for the purpose of overnight camping.

Can I ice fish on Lake George?

Fishing through the ice on any part of Lake George is prohibited No fish house will be placed on Lake George nor will any person drill or chop holes in its ice
