Proper athletic attire, including non-marking athletic shoes, must be worn. Please help us keep our facility clean by bringing a clean, dry pair of gym shoes to change into. Report any issues, injuries or incidents to the gym attendant immediately. Music is not permitted unless listening through personal headphones.

The gym office phone is for business use only.

Respect staff and other users within the building.

St. Cloud Park and Recreation is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items. Staff has the right to deny entry and/or suspend, expel, or terminate use of the facility.

Gym Specific Conduct includes all of the above as well as:

Must be 14 years of age or older to use the gym without a parent or guardian

Payment must be received before entering the gym

Organized practices during open gym are not allowed except for programs or rentals

A maximum of 15 patrons is allowed per court during Open Gym

Dunking or hanging on the basketball rims is prohibited

Do not hang on pickleball or volleyball nets

Collateral is required for any Whitney Recreation Center equipment needed

Walking Track/Exercise Room Specific Conduct includes all of the above as well as:

Must be 16 years of age or older to use the track and/or exercise room.

Walkers stay to in the inside and joggers to the outside of the track. Please pass slower traffic on the outside. Walk or run in single file only when the track is busy.

Tournament spectators are not allowed on the track.

Directional arrows show which direction individuals should walk/run on the track that day. All equipment must be wiped down after each use.

Please be respectful of equipment – do not drop weights.

The following activities are not permitted in any area and may result in suspension, expulsion, or termination of facility use, and/or criminal punishment:

Fighting, profanity/foul language or clothing, disorderly conduct, bullying, threatening or aggressive behavior, spitting, use of alcohol, vaping or tobacco products, theft, property damage, littering, loitering (inside and outside of facility), defrauding membership, public displays of affection, excessive horseplay, or disregarding the staff’s enforcement of the rules.

What You Need to Know Before Setting Up Your New Account

Parents First

When creating a new account, it is extremely important to enter the parent's/adult's information first. The first person on the account created will be the default payer/head of household and must be an adult (18+). The primary email address entered into the parent's/adult's account will be your username going forward

Text and Email Opt-In

The Department will be sharing information about class cancellations and facility closures via text message and/or email. Please enter your cell phone number and select your mobile carrier to receive important updates instantly. Your information will never be sold and will only be used to send you alerts about the topics you select.

Username

Your username will always be your email address You have the option of adding additional email addresses where you wish to receive important updates

Password

Passwords need to be at least 8 characters in length and include at least 3 of the following: capital letter, lower case letter, number, special character. If you have forgotten your password, please select "forgot password" to reset it at any time.

Emergency Contact

You are required to add at least one emergency contact to your profile Be prepared to enter the emergency contact's first and last name, relationship to the person, phone number, and email address

How to Create a New Account:

Select Login/Create Account in the upper left corner, then select Create Your Own. Fill out the required information. To receive text alerts (i.e., class cancellations, facility closing), indicate your mobile carrier next to your cell number. On mobile devices, select Account in the upper right corner and click Sign Up.

To receive important notifications, opt-in to receive all communication types (courtesy notifications, critical announcements, upcoming events).

Additional household members (spouse, children, etc.) may be added at any time in your Account Settings. Keep your entire household on one account!

When you've found an activity, make sure to select the correct account member before adding it to your account. Browse our catalog for our facility rentals for your upcoming events and make a reservation online!

Lead by an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, we offer several types of fitness classes built to help you meet your wellness goals. Can't commit to an entire group fitness class session? We offer punch passes ($32.50 - 10 classes) or daily drop-in options ($3.50)! See page 7 for class descriptions.

A hybrid of badminton, tennis, and table-tennis pickleball is a 3-in-1 game, played with wooden paddles and a perforated plastic ball in a normal badminton court or on any hard surface with a 3-foot net. It's an exciting way for people of all ages to stay active and to meet new people! We offer 6 indoor pickleball courts at Whitney Recreation Center; seasonally, check out our outdoor courts at Calvary Hill Park!

SCSU Lemonade Art Fair

The Lemonade Concert and Art Fair is one of St. Cloud State University’s best-known campus traditions and annually marks the opening of St. Cloud’s Granite City Days community-wide event In 2023, the Lemonade Concert and Art Fair will be celebrating its 50th anniversary as being one of SCSU and St Cloud’s greatest traditions. Similar offerings that will be featured in this year’s fair include over 150 art vendors, musical artists, food trucks, the Little Lemons Art Park offering children’s art projects, and more!

Whitney Superdraft Adult Softball Tournament & Home Run Derby

Looking to meet new players in the area or connect with your softball community? Register online as an individual and a random draw will determine teams. Each player will receive a Pro Smooth Whitney Superdraft team jersey and is guaranteed to play at least 3 games After a fun day of play, hit it out of the park at our 3rd annual Home Run Derby! In order to be eligible for play in the Home Run Derby, participants must have played in the Superdraft tournament. No coolers allowed; concessions will be available for purchase. The deadline to register is Friday, July 14th.

Fishing Club (All Ages)

Reel in the prize catch this summer with the Lake George Fishing Club! Meet us at the Lake George Boathouse/Shelter on the east side of the lake for a little catch and release fun, plus more activities and free giveaways! Equipment and bait will be provided at no charge; staff will be on hand to assist with baiting and handling of fish. If you are 16 or older, a fishing license is required. Fishing Club will not meet July 4th or 7th. Registration is not required for this activity See you at the lake!

Summer Baseball & Softball (Ages 4-12)

Get into the "swing" of youth baseball and softball, coached by our trained staff Each level focuses on different fundamentals and refining skills through drills and games; all levels will focus on good sportsmanship, teamwork, and having fun!

Tiny T's (Ages 4-5)

Tiny T’s is the first introduction to baseball. Trained coaches teach skills such as base running, throwing, and hitting the ball from a tee Focus will be on good sportsmanship and teamwork while building new friendships with teammates Skills will be taught through activities and drills Participants are required to have a water bottle and glove; jersey provided. Tiny T's will not meet July 4th or 6th.

Continue your child’s progression from Tiny T’s. New skills include having a ball pitched to them by the coach and introducing outfield positions Skills will be taught through various drills and games Participants are required to have a water bottle and a glove; jersey provided. Intro to Sports (Ages 6-10)

Stay active and learn new skills at Whitney Sports Complex! Youth can try a variety of different sports, including soccer, football, baseball/softball, kickball, and various outdoor games. Skills for these sports will be taught through various drills. Along with developing new sports skills, they will build confidence and meet new friends! Participants will be divided into appropriate age groups Don't forget your water bottle!

Minor League Baseball (Ages 6-8)

Minor League is coach-pitched from 25 feet away with the focus still very much on skill progression and fundamentals. New skills include developing a grip on the bat, catching pop flies, throwing from a further distance, and learning the stance in the batter’s box. Skills will be taught through multiple drills and practiced at games that will be played once a week, starting week two Participants are required to have a water bottle and glove; jersey provided Championship Night will be held July 26th to celebrate player achievements. Minor League Baseball will not meet July 3rd or 5th.

Major League Softball (Ages 9-12)

Major League Baseball (Ages 9-12)

New skills include “kid pitch”, where they will learn how to pitch to each other, and deciding what position best fits them. Participants further develop advanced techniques and strategies of the game through various drills. Games will be played once a week starting week two Participants are required to have a water bottle and glove; jersey provided Championship Night will be held July 26th to celebrate player achievements Major League Baseball will not meet on July 3rd or 5th.

This level of youth softball focuses on skill development. Disc golf is a fun, rewarding sport that provides exercise, safe competition, and teaches a lifelong activity. Youth Disc Golf is co-sponsored by St. Cloud Park & Recreation and St. Cloud Disc Golf Club. Each session will begin with a 30-minute clinic, followed by an hour of play. Sessions will rotate between 3 courses in 2-week increments, starting at Riverside Park (1725 Kilian Blvd), moving to Calvary Hill Park (1800 17th St S), and ending at River's Edge Park (1399 3rd St. N, Waite Park). Youth will have the opportunity to get involved in the sport and play competitively with peers. Disc Golf will not meet July 4th.
