Pickleball Lessons
During these 90-minute pickleball classes, we will focus on developing basic skills, reviewing rules and regulations, and implementing them into game situations. Skills covered include ball control, forehand/backhand drive, drive/lob serve, forehand/backhand lob, smash, and strategy. *Strategies & Skills class requires an intermediate level of play.

NEW! Adult Voll-o-ween Volleyball Tournament
Bust out your best costume and come be a part of a fun Halloween-themed tournament! Pools and brackets will be created based on teams’ skill levels. This will be a self-officiated, round-robin tournament. The deadline for teams to register is Friday, October 20th.

Youth Basketball Clinic (Ages 8-12)
Become a must-have player and leader on and off the court with this clinic! The coaching staff will be giving the pointers you need to make improvements in your basketball game to be a game changer. Make sure to wear comfortable athletic shoes and bring a water bottle! Pre-registration is required.
Ladder Pickleball League
Men’s, Women’s, and mixed doubles – players of all skill levels are invited to test their fate in Whitney’s Ladder Pickleball League! Move up or down the ladder based on your play. Adult Winter Volleyball Leagues
Team registration is now open for adult winter volleyball leagues at the Whitney Recreation Center, scheduled to begin the week of December 4-7. Each team is guaranteed 12 regular season matches and a double-elimination playoff. The deadline to register is Friday, November 24th, captain information meeting will be held Wednesday, November 15th from 6-7pm. Teams can register before or after the meeting. See you on the courts!

Youth Volleyball Clinic (Ages 6-12)
Get “set” to attend our Youth Volleyball Clinic! Participants will be introduced to basic volleyball skills including passing, serving, setting, and attacking. Clinic attendants are asked to come in athletic clothing, tennis shoes, hair pulled back and to bring their own water bottle. Pre-registration is required.

KinderGym (Ages 0-6)
Available for toddlers through preschoolers, KinderGym is a great way for your child to burn off some energy while interacting with other children. Whitney Sports Complex
Spanning 142 acres along the scenic Sauk River, Whitney Park is the sports headquarters of the St. Cloud Area. Whitney Sports Complex can host a wide variety of sporting events including soccer, softball, baseball, lacrosse, and ultimate frisbee. The complex consists of 8 slow-pitch softball fields, 2 fast-pitch softball fields, 2 baseball fields, 8 soccer fields, and a tennis court. Whitney also offers a 1.5-mile paved trail that encircles the park. All organized sports or walk/runs are required to have a permit. For more information on setting up a walk/run or to reserve field space for practices, games, tournaments, or special events, please call or visit us online.

Lake George Warming Shelter
The Lake George Warming Shelter will be open for public use during the times listed below. The shelter will close for adverse weather or poor ice conditions; please tune into WJON or check our Facebook page for weather related or ice condition closures. Starting date is dependent on the weather and ice conditions. No one is allowed on the ice at Lake George until it is declared safe by the Director. Don’t have skates? Thanks to businesses, community groups and resident donations, we have lots of skates available for free use during warming shelter hours! We cannot guarantee all sizes available.

Sledding Hill and Ski Trails
Grab your friends, family and sleds and head over to Riverside Park or Calvary Hill for some winter fun on our sledding hills! Riverside Park also offers a 2.5k loop ski trail with both flat and rolling hill terrain, groomed for skating and classical skiing. There is access to parking and restrooms; the warming house facility at Riverside is also available for rent.

Located on the corner of University Drive and Kilian Boulevard, visitors can explore over 20 acres of world-class gardens, plant collections, and historic hardscape along the Mississippi River. Open daily throughout the season from 6am-10pm; free admission. Please note: dogs are not allowed in Munsinger and Clemens Gardens. Contributions to support the Gardens are gratefully accepted. Weddings and Photography
Looking for an outdoor venue for your wedding or photo session? Check out the Munsinger Gardens Special Events Area, which holds up to 50 participants and also offers a wonderful backdrop for your wedding, engagement, family, and senior portraits.
Ceremonies at the Special Events Area, as well as photography permits for both Gardens, are scheduled between late-May and mid-October between 4pm and 7pm on weekdays; between 10am and 7pm on Saturdays; and at 10am on Sundays. Reservations are still available for 2023 and 2024; 2025 reservations begin on January 1st, 2024.
We also offer Off-Season Photography permits for Munsinger Gardens. For a reduced $25 fee, take your fall or winter portraits in the Gardens!
Photographers of all ages: take a photo you’re especially proud of while visiting the Gardens? Share those pics for entry into this annual area photo contest, sponsored by Munsinger Clemens Botanical Society. Photos will be judged in two categories for adults: Landscapes (garden scenery) and Hardscapes (decorative features in the Gardens); youth will be judged from all entries.
Photographs for this year’s contest must be taken between November 2022 and November 2023. Any visitor to the Gardens is eligible to enter. Please visit www.munsingerclemens.com for rules, online submissions, and more information.
