Summer @ the Library Not Just for Kids . . . Spending summer at the library is a great way to help students’ reading skills stay sharp while school is out. Studies show that students who read during the summer have an easier time transitioning back to school in the fall. Children and teens have an abundance of opportunities at the library, from attending exciting shows by performers who travel around the country to creating unique crafts limited only by their imagination. Adults are not left out of the summer fun! For adults, summer at the library is a time to try new types of books and attend presentations and workshops hosted by special guests and talented library staff. Parents, spending summer at the library is a way to spend quality time with your children. Read to them or let them read to you – sign up each member of your family and reach your reading goals together! Listening to audiobooks, being read to, and attending storytime counts too. There will be weekly raffles for children and teens and grand prizes at the end of the summer reading program for all age groups. We have six library locations plus a bookmobile, and your library card works at all of them. If the book you want isn’t at your location, we can send it over from another branch. Your library card also works online. We have thousands of downloadable books, magazines, and audiobooks – all for free with your library card!

All events are free and open to the public. 3
