TIMES School starts at 8.30am and we would like everyone to be in school by 8.45am at the latest. It is very disruptive if we have to keep leaving our groups, to open the door to latecomers.

Pick up time is 3.00pm if you have children in Nursery and/or Reception only. If you have children in the Lower School then the pick-up time is 3.15pm.

If someone else is picking up your child, you must inform us otherwise we will not allow him/her to leave. Please let us know before 3.00pm.

SNACK TIME Each child has to bring his/her own FRUIT in a small, named container every day. We would appreciate your help in encouraging the children to eat fruit by not sending anything else in.

SUGAR FREE Early Years (Nursery and Reception) is a ‘sugar-free’ zone so no cakes or sweets are allowed for name-days and birthdays. If you wish to send treats for your child to give to friends on such occasions, we suggest stickers, pencils etc.

LUNCH Everyone should have a small soft lunch bag (no wheelie-bags please). We encourage healthy eating, so no crisps or chocolate please. There should be a drink in the bag. No glass containers.

Each child also needs a table napkin, on which she/he sets out her/his lunch.

UNIFORM We would like all the children to wear the nursery uniform. The track suit, to be worn after half – term in October until Easter, is available from L.B. Creations.

The summer uniform is shorts or skirt and T.–shirt, worn from September-October and again Easter- June.

EVERYTHING MUST BE NAMED. Please ask L.B. Creations to embroider names either inside or outside your children’s clothes or mark labels with a pen.

Please call to inform us. If we are busy and cannot come to the phone, please leave a message on the answer machine or e-mail us at marieni.demetriadou@stcatherines.gr or yvonne.mengos@stcatherines.gr We also have a Parent Portal and we will send you details of that later.

MEDICAL FORM You will be given a medical form which must be completed and signed by you and your pediatrician. It is important that we have this form in school AT THE BEGINNING OF TERM as it will be essential should your child require FIRST AID. It is especially important to tell us of any allergies your child has.

NAMES It would be helpful if you can decide what your child will be called at school and how you want the name to be spelt. It is advisable not to Anglicize names as children find this confusing.

PHOTOS Every child should bring 2 recent photos to school at the beginning of term for the Birthday board and for the ‘Unique Child’ booklet.

SCHOOL BUS The children are escorted to and from the bus by a member of staff. Each child will have a contact book for home-school communication.

TOYS We have lots of toys, resources and equipment in the Nursery. Please don’t let your child bring any toys from home. This causes problems if they get lost/dirty/broken.

STARTING DATES We stagger the starting dates over a 2-week period as it is upsetting for a new child if there are lots of children crying when he/she arrives.

We have been doing this for several years and have found it to be the most successful way to settle the children. It gives us more time to spend with you and your child.
