Day to day tasks within the Finance function. Working within a small team of three others this role will develop over time and give the jobholder the opportunity to complete all key processes within the finance function, which are detailed below. When key processes are firmly understood and embedded the role will then extend to accounts preparation coupled with some Management and Statutory Reporting.



Sales Ledger processing ensuring invoices match to Client Purchase Orders and that they are appropriately recorded within the accounting software.

Answering the telephone and dealing with any customer or supplier invoice queries.

Calculation of overtime from time recording records



Month End Journal Preparation.



Month End Balance Sheet Reconciliations

Other ad-hoc duties as agreed from time to time by the Financial Controller and other members of the Finance Team.

Attributes: A desire and commitment to complete the AAT accounting qualification and possibly a full qualified accounting course beyond that.



A flexible attitude and a willingness to learn about all aspects of the Finance function.

Strong numeracy skills with some experience of MS Excel a distinct advantage.



How do you become a solicitor?

Do you enjoy debating and public speaking? Are you a good debater? Are you well-organised and a good independent worker? Then a career as a barrister could be for you.

Legal Apprenticeship Our apprenticeship programme is designed to help you to develop your professional & personal skills

Experience An apprenticeship will give you practical insight into a career in the legal sector and help you to develop transferable skills that will be valued in any profession. Work experience is a huge asset to your CV whatever route you decide to take in the future showing curiosity, commitment and initiative and strengthening self-awareness and commercial acumen alongside.

Salary You will be earning money from day one. At £15,500 pa, our starting salary is very competitive and above the national living wage. In addition to this, you will benefit from our extensive benefits and rewards scheme, including a firm wide bonus, travel season ticket loans and discounted gym membership.

Qualification The programme is based on the new Trailblazer Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship. In addition, our training provider, BPP, will provide you with further learning and assessment that will enable you to be awarded a Certificate of Higher Education - Legal Services. This additional feature is set at Level 4 which is the equivalent of the first year of a university degree. If you are awarded the Certificate of Higher Education, you will be able to proceed straight into the second year of the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship.

Benefits Whether you have always known that you want to work in the legal profession or you simply want to get experience of working in a professional services environment, the completion of an apprenticeship will open many doors.

At the end of the two years you could: 

Complete a higher level apprenticeship that would enable you to qualify as a solicitor. It will be possible to complete the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship within a shorter period of time having completed our Paralegal Apprenticeship (five years instead of six). This means you could qualify as a solicitor at the same time as someone who decided to go to university, with the added benefit of six years of work experience.  Go to university. Completing our apprenticeship doesn't mean closing the door to further study. Starting on a two year apprenticeship means you have the opportunity to find out if learning in the workplace is right for you. If you decide that you want to experience university you can still go at the end of the two years, but with the added benefit of valuable work experience and transferable skills.  Continue working within the firm as a paralegal or move into another role.

You also have a minimum of 2 IGCSEs/GCSEs in STEM subjects, at grade 6/B or above, one of which is in maths.

A keen interest in programming, computing and technology is essential. Although previous experience in coding would be advantageous, it’s not required as you’ll have the opportunity to develop these skills on the apprenticeship.

Helping staff to run the Challenge Talking to children about the books they’ve been reading Creating exciting library displays Planning and running activities or craft sessions Planning and running celebration events for other volunteers

The Summer Reading Challenge runs in most libraries, so just drop in to the one you want to volunteer in and ask if they have any opportunities for you to get involved this summer. Libraries start to recruit for the challenge from March, but some may have opportunities year round.
