HOMEMADE WOODEN SOCCER BOARD GAME The teacher of the E2 class of 21st Primary School of Peristeri ,Mr Panagiotis Mitsis, has created a wooden soccer board game with the students, similar to the ones he used to play with when he was a child. Teacher and students using recycled materials, an old wood board, pen , nails ,net, hammer have created an excellent toy and proved that from reused to recycling there is a variety of ways for the eco-minded person to protect the environment and have fun at the same time! In DDMN Primary in Chania, Greece, we created a maquette of our environment and discussed about pollution issues for our project. The two classes, 3rd 9 and 3rd 10, were asked to do a project during Christmas break. With old materials or recycled materials they had to make a toy. There was only one mandatory object: a drinking straw! The aim was to call students attention to the excessive use of disposable plastic and to the damages that plastic is causing to nature and wild life. Pupils did an excellent job and we learned a lot of new words related to materials and toys!
