The bonfire is back This year’s Djerriwarrh Festival will be bigger and better than ever, with an array of events and activities for everyone to enjoy. Kicking off the festival is the street parade at 11am, with parade entrants dressing up to showcase the featured theme of Storytime celebrating favourite children’s stories. The bonfire will make a return this year (lit at 7.45pm) and the main stage will host a range of great entertainment and performers to enjoy throughout the evening, starting with a band for the kids at 4.30pm. The Busker’s Tree is a great place to listen to the sounds of Melbourne’s upcoming talent such as Ariela Jacobs, Anna O and Josh Cashman. The International Food Bazaar will have more vendors than ever, the Community Information Hub will be bustling with activities, and the Melton Rotary Car Show will again have the classics drawing crowds. Stroll through the Intercultural Space or check out the Lions Club Carnival in Police Paddock, with rides, food and entertainment. There’ll also be more than 60 market stalls to browse through and the little ones will be kept busy with lots of free kids activities, including Tiny Tot Town and a petting zoo.

Finish off the day with a display not to be missed, the Woodgrove Fireworks Finale at 10pm.

Fire breathing and flying high, Dragon has been soaring into the April sun since the ’70s and will headline this year’s Djerriwarrh Festival. Originally formed in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1972, this fast-rising band moved to Sydney in 1975, and it was from there the hits started coming. It took some time, experience and travel until the band found themselves, with Marc Hunter on vocals, Paul Hewson on keyboard, Todd Hunter on bass, Kerry Jacobsen on drums and Robert Taylor on guitar. Together, the boys mix iconic riffs and awesome sounds. Having performed all over the world, Dragon continues to entertain fans today. Their first single, ‘This Time’, released in

September 1976 received a lot of radio airplay. Their third single from the album ‘Sunshine’, peaked at number 36 on the ARIA charts. Success saw them rise to become Australia’s number one band. ‘Running Free’ was released in November 1977 and went on to exceed double platinum status with sales reaching number six on the album charts. ‘April Sun In Cuba’, written by Paul and Marc, was a stand out single reaching number two on the charts. In 1983 their single ‘Rain’ also hit the number two spot. Dragon was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2008 and will no doubt rain down at at this year’s festival.

Sing along with the Mik Maks After proving to be a huge hit with the kids last year, the Mik Maks will be back at the Djerriwarrh Festival in 2016 to entertain the young ones. Brothers Joel, Alan, Brian and Dean McInnes all share a love of music instilled by their mother at a young age. It is this passion that took them from a sing-a-long at a family gathering to becoming Australia’s newest and most colourful children’s entertainment band, the Mik Maks. Writing and performing their own songs to engage children through colour, fun and movement, the group has enormous fun bringing families and communities together and feel privileged to be able to share their music with their young audiences. It’s hearing the stories of families singing and dancing together to their quirky songs that motivates the brothers to do what they do. The band also features special Mik Maks members ‘Drums the Panda’ and ‘Bruce the Hairy Crocodile’. The MikMaks have produced a live performance DVD, and last year released their second album ‘Working on the Farm’. Five fresh faces have been elected to Melton’s newly structured council. While four incumbents were re-elected for another four-year term, two councillors failed to make it across the line for a return to council. The number of councillors in Melton has increased from seven to nine following a Victorian Electoral Commission review of electoral boundaries. Renata Cugliari, who had been a Watts ward councillor for the past eight years, contested the Cambridge ward in this year’s election but did not win enough support to get back on council. Myles Bentley, who had been elected to the Coburn ward last year after a councillor’s

resignation, also failed to be re-elected. Nola Dunn did not stand for re-election in Cambridge ward. The new faces are Goran Kesic and Steven Abboushi for Cambridge ward; Melissa DeSantis and Ken Hardy for Coburn ward; and Michelle Mendes for Watts ward. Incumbent councillors Kathy Majdlik, Sophie Ramsey, Bob Turner and Lara Carli have been returned to council with strong results. Cr Majdlik will return to serve a third term on council after securing 6689 votes in the Cambridge ward – more than a third of the votes; Cr Ramsey polled 5799 votes; Cr Turner 3653; and Cr Carli 4342. Cr Majdlik, who served as mayor for the past

year, says she has no plans to put her hand up for the role this year, but has not ruled it out long-term. “I’m very, very happy, I’m excited and I’m also very grateful and humbled that my residents put so much trust in me,” Cr Majdlik said. “Obviously, they’re happy with what I’m doing and how I’m representing them.” According to the Victorian Electoral Commission, there were fewer informal votes and a higher voter turnout in Melton this election than in the 2012 election. In Moorabool, mayor Allan Comrie suffered a shock loss in the East Moorabool ward, despite securing the most first-preference votes (1667 at 15.52 per cent). Tonia Dudzik, John Spain and newcomers

John Keogh and Jarrod Bingham secured seats following preference distributions. Cr Bingham, at 26, is the youngest councillor this term. He told Star Weekly he felt “grateful and privileged” for residents’ support. Pat Toohey has been re-elected as Woodlands ward councillor. Tom Sullivan won West Moorabool ward unopposed. Paul Tatchell, who was comfortably re-elected as a Central Moorabool ward councillor, says this will most likely be his last term on council. The election results will be officially declared at the Melton council chambers at 10am on Friday, November 4, and Moorabool council chambers at 10am on Wednesday, November 2.

Extra seats ease the train crush By Sumeyya Ilanbey Three carriages will be added to two peak-hour services on the Ballarat railway line, doubling the number of seats on each service. The Vlocity carriages will enter service on Monday, November 7, and will be added to the 7.39am from Wendouree to Southern Cross, and the 4pm from Southern Cross to Ballarat. The carriages have been delivered four months ahead of schedule. Public Transport Users Association regional spokesman Paul Westcott said this was welcome

relief for Ballarat railway commuters adversely affected by the roll-out of the Regional Rail Link last year when services were stripped away and carriages pulled out. Mr Westcott said that while overcrowding on Ballarat railway line services had been an issue for 10 years, it was only likely to get worse with the population boom in the state’s west. “The good thing about the Ballarat line is even though trains could be overcrowded, they’re not at the maximum length at the moment,” Mr Westcott said. “There’s potential to add extra carriages … there’s relief in sight.”

Mr Westcott said he believed the extra Vlocity trains, to be rolled out across the network in the next 18 months, would help overcome overcrowding on the Ballarat line. Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan said the state government had ordered 100 new trains for the state – including X’Trapolis metropolitan trains and Vlocity regional trains – following a four-year “chronic under-investment” by the previous state government. “We’ve ordered more than 100 new trains in less than two years and they’re already starting

to hit the network,” she said. “The new trains will be vital as patronage grows and we deliver our pipeline of major transport projects, including the Metro Tunnel, 50 level-crossing removals and line upgrades and extensions across Victoria.” Melton MP Don Nardella said the announcement came on the back of significant funding on the Ballarat line upgrade, including the duplication of the line between Melton and Deer Park. He said the extra carriages would make the daily commute a lot more comfortable.

The electrification of the railway line from Melton to Deer Park is vital if the Melbourne Airport rail link is to go ahead, an advocacy group claims. As part of its 30-year draft blueprint, Infrastructure Victoria has recommended the state government deliver a rail line to Melbourne airport within 15 to 30 years. But it says further planning is necessary to integrate the line into the existing network, “given projected high growth on the Sunbury and Melton lines”. Leadwest chief executive Craig Rowley said while there are no plans to connect Melton directly to the airport, electrifying the line to Deer Park would strengthen the connection. “So then, if there was an airport rail link from Sunshine, using the Albion freight corridor, then that would strengthen the connection between Melton and the airport by rail,” Mr Rowley said. He said a better connection to the airport is vital considering the population boom in the outer west, coupled with a dearth of jobs. Infrastructure Victoria has also recommended the electrification of the Ballarat railway line from Melton to Deer Park in the next 10 to 15 years. Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan said the metro tunnel would create room for more services in and out of the city. It would allow for the expansion of the train network. Doing her hair share Anita Rus wants to send a message to women – that no matter what you look like, you’re strong and beautiful. Ms Rus’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and lymphoma earlier this year. Following treatment, she started losing hair. “I still thought she looked beautiful, but when you’re going through what she was going through it’s hard to feel beautiful,” the Kurunjang resident said. A conversation with her mother prompted Ms Rus (pictured) to shave her hair off – to raise money for breast cancer research, to stand in solidarity with her mother and to send a message to women battling tough times. Police numbers no match for crime By Sumeyya Ilanbey Full-time police numbers across the state have increased by less than two per cent in as many years, despite a rising crime rate. There were 13,188 full-time officers in June, 2016 – 155 more than the previous year and 232 more than June 2014 – Victoria Police’s recent annual report reveals. This goes nowhere near keeping up with population growth, police association secretary Ron Iddles said, especially in Melton, where crime has increased by 30 per cent since June

2014. There are 84 frontline police in Melton, compared with 76 in June 2014. “For more than two years, the police association has been calling for a substantial increase in frontline police numbers to bring our crime rate under control, and to keep pace with Victoria’s booming population,” Mr Iddles said. “Nowhere more does this ring true than it does in Melton.” The number of police injured across the state in the past financial year was up 10 per cent compared with the year before, while the number of shifts lost due to injury skyrocketed

by 40 per cent, the annual report reveals. But it’s not only police safety that’s being compromised, Mr Iddles said. “The police to population ratio in Melton is around half the state average. It is no wonder that the visible policing presence the Melton community requires and deserves isn’t forthcoming,” he said. Mr Iddles praised the state government for expediting 406 extra police recruits by 12 months, including 300 frontline police. It has also committed to deploying many frontline officers to growth areas, such as Melton.

Police Minister Lisa Neville said the government is working with Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton to give police the resources, technology and equipment they need to keep communities safe. “It’s very clear that police numbers are up under this government, and they will continue to grow,” Ms Neville said. But opposition policing spokesman Edward O’Donohue slammed the two per cent increase in full-time police since 2014, saying Victoria Police did not have the resources to respond to the “crime tsunami” confronting the state.

Break-in a warning call Shawn Soley was sleeping when intruders broke into his house, ransacking rooms and stealing equipment valued at more than $5000. When the Kurunjang man awoke on Sunday, October 23, he realised things were out of place – floors were muddy, the couch pushed back and mess was strewn across the floor. His electronics, including amplifiers, Xbox, headsets, Xbox games and laptop, were missing. And so was a kettle, electric frying pan, black tea and coffee. “The worse part about all of this is all the essential stuff has been stolen,” Mr Soley, 30, says. “Being I’m single, I don’t go out and socialise much. I work massive hours, so I come home, play Xbox and watch a DVD – I can’t do that anymore.” There were muddy footprints across the lounge room into his and his three-year-old son’s bedroom. Mr Soley says he’s lucky his son had been

sleeping over at his mother’s house on the night. “When I sat down to call the police, that’s when adrenaline kicked in,” Mr Soley says. “I got a bit of a rush – someone had been in here. “I wouldn’t say it was scary, but what if my son was here? What if he had woken up? What would they have done to him?” Mr Soley has ramped up security, put on deadlocks and other precautions, but wants more done. He says houses should come with security doors, deadlocks and CCTV. “If we had more police on duty around the area, it would make a significant decrease in crime,” Mr Soley says. The Police Association last month called for 3300 extra frontline police over the next six years. He lost a leg after a parachute accident more than 15 years ago, and was awarded the Star of Courage for saving his partner by bearing the brunt of the impact. Big tick for our newest suburb By Sumeyya Ilanbey Four public schools, five sports reserves and a six-lane arterial road will be built in the west’s newest suburb. The state government last week approved the 752-hectare Rockbank Precinct Structure Plan, which is expected to include about 8000 houses for more than 22,000 people. The new suburb, which is yet to be named, will be bound by the Western Freeway to the north, Paynes Road to the west, Greigs Road to the south and the future Outer Metropolitan Ring Road corridor to the east. Planning Minister Richard Wynne said more than $220 million would be raised in development levies for infrastructure, including a new six-lane arterial road connecting the Western Freeway to Greigs Road. A town centre and public plaza will be built around the existing train station, which will undergo major expansion in the form of extended platforms and a sealed carpark at the southern end. “This is good planning in action,” Mr Wynne said. “We are supporting a new community by making sure there is infrastructure in place as the suburb develops.” Land has been set aside for three public primary schools, a non-public primary school, and a public secondary school. Four sports reserves, all with pavilions, will be built, and a regional sports reserve for use by other western suburbs residents.

Kororoit MP Marlene Kairouz said more and more people wanted to call the west home. “They deserve the opportunity to buy affordable land and build their homes,” Ms Kairouz said. “Approvals like this keep the dream of a new home within the reach of many Victorian families.”

Melton design, strategy and environment acting manager Kelly Archibald said once the suburb was gazetted and incorporated into the planning scheme, subdivision applications could be lodged and assessed. “Development timeframes within the precinct will largely be determined by the market and developers.” Melton council and the Victorian Planning Authority, formerly known as the Metropolitan Authority, have been planning for the suburb since 2013. A panel heard submissions from residents in April. A 2014, MPA newsletter identified the Rockbank PSP as a “historic agricultural settlement situated amongst basalt plains” to be converted into a “dynamic suburb that enhances its natural systems and preserves local heritage”.

Under current legislation, those caught riding in public can only be fined for operating an unregistered vehicle. Assistant Commissioner Doug Fryer said police have had reports of monkey bike riders “harassing people” on roads and footpaths for years. “They can cause serious injury or death, and we just don’t want that anymore,” he said. “Let this be a message that our streets aren’t for monkey bikes … they’re dangerous little motorised vehicles.” Premier Daniel Andrews said the new legislation came about after two deaths were caused by the bikes during the past 18 months. “Two families are grieving loved ones because of these wretched things,” he said. “If your own safety isn’t important to you, that’s

Victoria Police received more than 6000 phone calls about monkey bikes last year. Riding monkey bikes off-road on private property will still be legal.

MY PLACE When she first tried making chapatis, Fareeha Sheraz failed miserably. But these days the cooking instructor boldly claims to be a master of the famous flat bread, as she tells Sumeyya Ilanbey. What’s your connection to the area?

Where did your love for cooking come from?

I moved to Caroline Springs about 11 years ago. After three years, I wanted to participate with the community services, so I contacted council. And then I started teaching at the Stevenson House – I wanted to teach the flavours of my country, Pakistan. Before that I lived in Thornbury for one and a half years. I moved to Australia in 2004.

I come from Lahore, in Pakistan, which is a city famous for its food – the people love food. We love chickens and goats – we’re basically the meat lovers. I also have a degree in food nutrition and my mum is a wonderful cook.

What’s your favourite thing about living in Caroline Springs?

When I first moved here, I tasted all these different cuisines, so I just started mixing and matching and inventing things. Before I moved to Australia, I hadn’t tasted avocado. Now I love it – I make salads and chutneys with it.

What would you change about the area if you could? Maybe some new areas for the kids, more activities for the kids and maybe a bigger shopping centre. There are some pretty good children’s activities, but maybe some more courses, like computer courses and more outdoor activities. I’d also like to see some more multicultural activities, more festivals with different communities coming together. Where’s your favourite place to hang out in Caroline Springs? The library, because I like reading and it has a good selection of books. I also like the parks – the kids can play with all the different people at the park, and we can walk on the tracks around the lake, which are really nice.

What’s the secret to a good curry? Make it from scratch. The best thing to do when making a curry is having it on medium to low heat and use fresh ingredients. The biggest mistake people make is using ready-made paste. And I always cook chicken without the skin – when people make a chicken curry with the skin on, it makes it more smelly and oily. What’s your favourite dish to make? I love to make goat curries. I just love the taste and you can mix and match with vegetables or eat it with lentils. So there’s a big scope for the goat. It is a good area for the kids, especially with the parks, libraries and the community houses. It’s a nice and quiet area.

How has Australian culture and cuisine influenced your cooking?

Senior Invited to a Free Drivers Expo Senior Drivers Expos are a free initiative of RoadSafe Westgate Community Road Safety Council who stage these four times each year in Altona and is open to anyone in the four Council areas who is retired, or is thinking about retirement. The next Senior Drivers Expo will be conducted on Saturday 26th November at Hobsons Bay Civic Centre in Altona. This will be the last Senior Drivers Expo for 2016. After being kept off the green last week because of rain, Melton travelled to Deer Park for a match-up of close rivals. Deer Park ended up winning three of the four rinks for a 78 (16)-72 (2) scoreline. Melton secretary John Adams said Deer Park found the answers at important times. â€œThey had big scores at those vital moments,â€? Adams said. â€œOne rink had a five and another a four. â€œIt was close in all the rinks. We got jumped at the start in a couple and plugged at it to get back into the games without getting the wins. â€œIâ€™m not sure whether it was their good ends or our bad ends that was the difference.â€? Ray Morrisseyâ€™s rink was the winning one for Melton, by six shots. Melton is now sixth on the ladder, six points outside the top four, after four rounds that brought a win, two losses and a draw. â€œWeâ€™ve been plugging away and if we win all our home matches we should make finals,â€? Adams said. â€œThe two games weâ€™ve lost were by five and six shots. With a bit of luck, we could have been undefeated.â€? Meanwhile, Melton Bowls is hosting casual twilight barefoot bowls sessions on Wednesday nights, with everyone welcome. Names have to be in by 5.30pm, with the bowling action starting at 6.

SPORT Rams, recruits fired up for A-grade netball return Rockbank’s A-grade netball team will return to the court in the Riddell District Netball League next year with no intention of merely making up the numbers. Facing a lack of A-grade players earlier this year, the Rams decided to withdraw their top side from the 2016 competition. Last week the club announced it had appointed coaches for all four teams for 2017. Lizzy Masterson will coach the A-grade side and her nephew, Dave Vining, will coach the B-grade team. He will also be the fitness coach. Michelle Barclay will coach the C-grade side, having coached the under-19s this year, while Elisha Green will combine the under-19 coaching role with that of netball co-ordinator.

Masterson comes across from coaching Anakie in the Geelong District Football League. Several players Masterson has previously coached will play for the Rams next year. She said there could be at least 20 players coming to the club, many from Anakie, while several have played together in indoor competitions. She said herself, Vining and several Anakie players had decided to continue their netball closer to the Werribee area in which they live. “It’s only 15 minutes down the road instead of travelling 45 minutes to an hour to get to training,” she said. “We’ve got a bunch of girls that have played together for a long time and get along really

well. Everyone jumped at the opportunity to play and train closer to home.” Masterson said while the club had brought across players who would likely play in A grade and B grade, try-outs for all teams would still be held. She said the coaches were hoping that existing Rams players would look at continuing. “The club has brought us in to win matches,” she said. “We don’t know who will turn up to trials – we could have a couple of superstars turn up.” Masterson said the coaches were hoping the A-grade side could make finals in 2017 despite the absence this year. Final ball seals victory By Tara Murray Melton has won a thriller against Box Hill in the Victorian Sub-district Cricket Association’s east-west competition. The match came down to the final ball on Saturday, with the Lions hitting the winning runs to secure their first win of the season. Box Hill elected to bat after winning the toss in what became a one-day match after the first day was washed out. Box Hill made 4-177 from its 45 overs to set the Lions a competitive total to chase. Jake Charge took two wickets, with Ashley Sweet taking one wicket. In reply, the Lions looked in trouble when Michael Alexander, Anthony Gale and David Kirk scored one run between them as the Lions slipped to 3-5. Opener Ben MacRae and playing coach Nathan Geisler set about rescuing the innings. A partnership of a 117 brought them back into the game before the coach fell for 48. Jake Thorton-Gielen then became the third Lions player to be bowled out for a duck, leaving the Lions needing 55 runs with five wickets in hand. MacRae was joined at the crease by Sweet, the pair guiding their side towards Box Hill’s total, with MacRae hitting two runs off the final ball to seal the win. The Lions’ women’s team finally got on the field in Victorian Premier Cricket’s seconds. After its first three matches were washed out, the Lions took on newcomer Carlton-Brunswick on Sunday at MacPherson Park. Finally on the park, the Lions got their premiership defence off to the right start with an easy victory. Carlton-Brunswick was bowled out for 156 in the 45th over, with Janelle Hayhurst taking four wickets. In reply, the Lions made 5-157, hitting the winning runs in the 41st over. Melton Centrals have already claimed first innings points against Melton South Primary School Cricket Club in Victorian Turf Cricket Association west A1. The Royals won the toss and elected to bat, but were left to rue that decision. They were in trouble at 2-8 and recovered to be 3-75 before losing 7-29 to be all out for just 106. Francis Camenzuli top-scored with 24 as just three batsmen scored double figures. In reply, Centrals were 6-133 at stumps after facing 33 overs. In north A1, Caroline Springs has a tricky target to chase on day two of its match against Roxburgh Park Falcons. AFL Goldfields cap points to fairer season AFL Goldfields has released its player points structure for its four competitions next season, including the Ballarat and Riddell District football leagues. The BFL will have a cap of 44 points, one point down from this year, while the RDFL will remain at 42 points. The points cap was the first part of a plan to bring down spiralling costs and try to level out competitions. The second part, a salary cap, will be introduced next season. While AFL Goldfields has set a base cap for all its leagues, as for this year, some teams have been given higher caps due to lack of success, location and a dearth of juniors. In the Ballarat league, all but two teams will have a points cap of 44. Sebastopol, which had a cap of 50 this year, and Melton South will have higher caps. AFL Goldfields has applied for both clubs to have 50 points, higher than the 48-point statewide cap set by AFL Victoria. AFL Goldfields general manager Rod Ward said the AFL Goldfields advisory committee suggested 50 points for both clubs prior to AFL Victoria releasing their figures. “AFL Goldfields will prepare a submission for the clubs indicated with the 50 points to retain that allocation for the 2017 season,” he said. “We were happy to accept what the advisory committee suggested, and if they have 50 points, we’ll be happy and we’ll also be happy if it ends up being 48 points.” In the RDFL, only four clubs will have a cap of 42 points. Similar to Melton South and Sebastopol, AFL Goldfields will apply for Melton Centrals and Rockbank to have a points cap of 50. Lancefield will have a 48 point cap, Woodend-Hesket and Wallan 47 points, Broadford and Sunbury Kangaroos 45 points and Macedon 44 points. Woodend-Hesket and Sunbury Kangaroos both have increases on last season, while three clubs have decreases. Ward said he couldn’t envisage all the RDFL clubs having the same points cap in the future, with such varying demographics in the league. “We reviewed last season’s data and thought 42 points was a more applicable level … than the 41 we had predicted,” he said. The salary cap next year for the BFL is $140,000, the RDFL’s cap will be $110,000.

Darley turns tide on reigning premiers After four frustrating weeks, Darley finally took to the pitch in this Ballarat Cricket Association season … and made the most of it. With rain stopping play the first four weeks, players were itching to get on the field. Taking on reigning premiers Golden Point, Darley put in a team performance to get across the line. Darley coach Heath Pritchard said players were glad to finally put their training to the test. Adding to frustration levels, Darley’s ground has been in good nick and could have been used, if not for wash-outs called by the association. “To beat the reigning premiers is a great start to the season,” Pritchard said. “That’s the most pleasing thing, as last time we played them, they won by eight runs, knocking us out of the finals.” Batting first, Golden Point made 134, with five Darley players taking wickets, including three to Sajith Rupasingha. In reply, Darley made 6-135. Hasitha Wickramasinghe top-scored with 31. Pritchard said, pleasingly, there had been even contributions across the board. “It was consistent across the board, which we need to be, if we are to close the gap. Bacchus Marsh made it two wins in two rounds in Gisborne and District Cricket Association McIntyre Cup. After wet conditions last week, Bacchus Marsh was greeted by sunshine at Woodend on Saturday. Woodend decided to bat first, making 9-128 from its 40 overs. The Bulls shared the wickets, with Brenton Payne and Rhys Watson taking two wickets each. In reply, the Bulls easily chased down the runs, making 4-129. Tom McColl top-scored with 43. The win leaves the Bulls in third position on the ladder. Elsewhere for the Bulls, Bruce Thomas played his 300th game for the club in a standalone G-grade match on Sunday against Sunbury United in front of the Bulls’ faithful. The B-grade side lost to Sunbury United. In other McIntyre Cup results, Diggers Rest Bulla suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Sunbury. Sunbury made 146, with four players taking two wickets each for the Burras. In reply, Sunbury fell nine runs short, finishing its overs at 8-138. Michael Sammut top-scored for the Burras with 36. In B grade, St Anthonys lost its first match of the season, going down to Wallan on Saturday. Wallan made 154 batting first. That was too much for St Anthonys, which was bowled out for 123. In the C grade, Blackwood lost to Sunbury United. United chased down Blackwood’s total of 6-192 with two overs remaining. Mili Sepala finished 19 not out for Bacchus Marsh on Saturday. (Shawn Smits)
