Pasta, longlife milk, rice, hand sanitiser, masks and toilet paper are just a few of the items provided in the packages. Cafe owner Nick Truong said this was his way of giving back to the community. “hey have been supportive of us, we are a new business,” he said. “We did the relief packages in the irst lockdown and that went

really well and we were able to help out a few families.” Mr Truong is hoping to deliver about 200 packages during the second lockdown. He said families can pick up the packages from his cafe or arrange for home delivery. “If anyone is really struggling they can come and help themselves, no questions asked,” he said. “However, with stage four lockdown, we are looking at doing door-to-door delivery for those we won’t be able to come down to the shop. “I think this time, going into stage four, it is going to be tough so we are reaching out to

our family and friends who know people who might need the packages as well. “I just don’t want people to feel embarrassed when they reach out to us because we really are here to help.” Mr Truong said the relief packages were also helping his staf stay in work during the pandemic. “We have created more work for employees because they are spending one day packing and one day delivering so it is allowing more employment for the business,” he said.
