As we shake our heads at the evening news, or don’t even watch news at all anymore because it is so depressing, we should occasionally take a moment to be grateful for our small town in the middle of Minnesota. We are more alike than we are different, and there is something to be said for the friendly “hello” each morning at the post office or that person who asks “how are you” at the grocery store and then stops to listen for the answer. It is heartwarming to see the community pull together to support one another in times of struggle and then be equally as celebratory in times of triumph.
