I keep telling mom “She is my bestest mom in the whole wide world”. (think that will give me some bonus points????) I even told mom we could give all my toys to the church garage sale so that I could get all the new toys I want, she might have told me “You can get rid of some of them since you can’t keep them all put away, but I am pretty sure Santa is not going to bring you every toy you want”. I might have to see what you bring me first before I agree to give up some toys. I love all the toys you brought me last year and play with them all the time, so those toys will have to stay at my house.

I saw a toy catalog on the island and when I went through it, I wanted 90% of the toys in it (even though we had most of them) but mom said I had to only pick a few to ask you to bring because there are lots of other kids who want the same things I do. Here’s the toys I picked - a skid steer with a light on top, a mini excavator with different attachments like my dad uses at work cuz I saw them at the shop when I was there, a side dump and a truck with cows. Oh, and I would love a new train set to share with my friends, and maybe a new truck and trailer?

I love to help my brother and sister and they play with me so could you bring them something too?

My brother likes tools with batteries and my sister likes to hit the ball against the wall all the time and once she got it stuck in the tree and my brother had to use the leaf blower to get it out. I will leave you cookies and milk. The reindeer will have carrots waiting. Tell Mrs. Claus not to worry about how mom’s cookies taste, I think they are the yummiest!! I missed seeing you, so I hope to see you again before Christmas!

CUTOUTS • 2 cups butter or margarine softened • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened • 2 cups sugar • 2 egg yolks • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • 4 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour Butter Cream Frosting: • 3 1⁄2 cups confectioners’ sugar, divided ine, softened ened • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, • 1 tablespoon shortening • 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract • 3 to 4 tablespoons milk, divided • red and/or green food coloring *optional onal In a mixing bowl, cream butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. Add sugar, egg yolks and vanilla; mix well.

Gradually add flour. Cover and chill 2 hours or until firm.

Roll out on a floured surface to ¼ in. - thickness. Cut into 3-in. shapes; place 1 in. apart on greased baking sheets.

Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until set (not browned). Cool 5 minutes; remove and place on wire racks to cool. For frosting, combine 1 ½ cups sugar,

Combine the dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ground ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.

Make the dough: In a separate large mixing bowl, beat the butter to soften it. Slowly, add the sugar, beating until well combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl when necessary. Beat in the eggs (one at a time) and the molasses. Mix in the flour mixture using a wooden spoon.

Arrange the balls of dough on the cookie sheet: Using 1/4 cup of dough at a time, shape the dough into 2-inch balls. Roll the dough balls in sugar. Place the balls of dough about 2 1/2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake until light brown, then cool: Bake in a 350°F oven for 12 to 14 minutes or until cookies are light brown and puffy. Cool on the cookie sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in a tightly covered container at room temperature for up to three days or in the freezer for up to three months.
