Cash means hope By Rowan Forster My Place and the Pakenham Health Centre will reap the benefits of a record $1.45 billion mental health federal funding cash splash - in a funding model shake-up set to offer local organisations and patients greater long term certainty. Health Minister Greg Hunt joined Latrobe MP Jason Wood at Main Street's My Place hub on 16 January, spruiking the benefits for Pakenham, Beaconsfield and Berwick. It is believed the investment could facilitate the development of a second storey at the council-operated youth facility. The organisations will also be spared the uncertainty of re-tendering for contracts every year, providing greater security for staff and those experiencing mental health conditions. "Community mental health is about delivering people outcomes in their own communities, and My Place is an example of this," Mr Hunt said. "It is helping to run the Bounce Back program and the South East Melbourne Public Health Network (PHN) and Cardinia Shire are cooperating. "They are delivering outcomes to these magnificent young people and giving them hope, support and a pathway to a really bright future." My Place is reportedly bursting at the seams, with both counsellor rooms frequently booked out. The funding will encompass an estimated $617 million for youth mental health, $399 million for psychological therapies, $177 million for mental health nurses, $77 million for suicide prevention, $74 million for mental health in aged care and $89 million for indigenous mental health. "This amazing group of young Australians here in Pakenham are dealing with the day to day challenges that people face, and they're able to access this support because of the PHN funding," Mr Hunt added. PHNs has tirelessly been pushing for long term contracts to replace the annual re-tendering process, amid concerns for the disruption to critical patient services. "It's great to be able to launch the service here at a local facility," Kiera Mansfield, general manager of South East Melbourne PHN, said. "When we started this journey with the

escaping something and helping people out by taking their own lives. "In actual fact, they're just leaving a trail of misery and unanswered questions. "Over the years we've had some really bad news in Latrobe, and we even had to put up suicide prevention barriers along the train line, so I'm stoked to be putting money into mental health."

Our sweltering shame By Rowan Forster Victoria's triple-zero service has revealed both Pakenham and Berwick are hotspots for toddlers and children being locked inside sweltering cars. It comes as yet another three kids were reportedly left inside a vehicle near Heritage Springs Shopping Centre on Tuesday afternoon, despite the scorching heat. The mercury skyrocketed to 38 degrees Celsius in Pakenham, with the temperature expected to be at least 20 degrees hotter inside a vehicle. The Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (ESTA) said last summer there were 564 cases of a child being locked in a hot car. On average, emergency services responded to six calls a day, with 199 call-outs in January alone. Joining Pakenham and Berwick as the most troublesome suburbs were Frankston, Preston and Dandenong. ESTA's executive director of operations Patrick Berry urged parents and carers to remember that the temperature inside a car could be 20 to 30 degrees hotter than outside. He said there is no excuse for leaving children or pets in hot cars. "If you see a child or pet locked in a car make sure you call triple zero (000) and state your location clearly to the operator," he said. "If you are in a car park, look for landmarks, section names, numbers or the colour of the parking bay so you can provide specific details." Mr Berry said he hoped that the number of calls would drop with community awareness. Jason Chambers, Kidsafe Victoria general manager, said leaving a child unattended in a car, even for a short time, was dangerous.
Those who see children or pets locked inside a hot car are urged to call triple-zero. "Most of the temperature rise inside a car occurs within the first five minutes and leaving the windows down has little effect on the temperature rise," he said.

School's in for 475 pupils By Rowan Forster Pakenham Primary School is set to welcome its first ever cohort of students in a fortnight, boasting an impressive projected enrolment of 475 pupils. The new facility, located at 50 Atlantic Drive, has received $22 million in State Government funding. Construction ramped up over the Christmas and New Year period, geared to prepare the school for the first day of Term 1, on 31 January. A recent tour of the site has revealed that Pakenham Primary School has been designed in accordance with open-space planning. In an interesting development, it has also been revealed that the new school does not have any air conditioning. According to the Victorian School Building Authority, schools are only provided with air-conditioning if they are for "special development" or if buildings are multi-storey, portables or in certain designated climate zones. However, the revelation has not quelled the excitement of parents. Lynette Deaner said she could not wait to send her youngest daughter to Pakenham Primary School. "It just looks head and shoulders better than anything else we've looked at," she said. "From everything we've heard from the other parents, it seems like it's going to be a great place for them to learn." Principal Gail Butterworth spoke of her excitement in lead up to the beginning of Term 1. "I can't wait to see the kids get there on the first day in their uniform," she said. "I'll be the one crying - not just the parents. "I can't wait to see them get into the learning spaces and see them for the first time." She detailed the effort involved in preparing the Pakenham Primary School for day one.

"House names don't exist, colours, logos, uniform, and curriculum. "You're literally working from the ground up and it's amazing how everything weaves together to create a school." The school has also appointed dozens of new teachers and staff. New appointments can be viewed on the Pakenham Primary School's Facebook page.
The school will be ready to begin on 31 January.
Burglary victim offers $10,000 reward By Jessica Anstice A burglary victim has offered to pay a reward of $10,000 for the return of sentimental family jewellery stolen during a raid. The Berwick home was broken into overnight on Wednesday, 9 January, whilst the house was unoccupied. A rose gold bangle with a milk opal and a safety chain that was handed down from its owner's mother, an opal sea shell necklace, pearls, rings including wedding and engagement were among the items of jewellery taken. Two televisions and a collection of Swarovski Disney crystals were also stolen. Further, an Order of Australia Medal that was awarded to the homeowner for her welfare work was also taken. These are sentimental items that are hard to replace."It's a warning that it can happen to just ordinary people. It's really disappointing,"

Josh will take his passion in bike riding to raise money for drought stricken farmers.
Riding to support farmers By Brendan Rees When teachers told then four-year old Josh last year about how Aussie farmers were battling the drought he knew he wanted to do something to help. Josh's mum Lyndall Fokkens said while he was at Berwick Kindergarten he was "very keen to do something to raise money for the
farmers." With his passion for bike riding Lyndall encouraged Josh to do a 'Bike-A-Thon' at the bike track on Avebury Drive in Berwick on Tuesday 22 January with all money raised going towards the Drought Angels. "He loves riding and he loves the bike track so we thought let's just drum up a little bit of interest," she said.

Alkira Secondary College Year 9 student Laura Marzec won first place in last year’s Wallara ‘Picture This’ art competition, and will appear on a Wallara Australia bus. Wallara, a Dandenong-based disability support service for adults in the South-East, invited secondary students to get creative and produce artwork under the theme ‘social inclusion for people with different abilities.’ Laura said her artwork depicted a world globe with people raising and holding their hands, with “everyone feeling valued, important and happy.” “In the design, the houses are close together and look similar, this promotes our society having equal opportunities for everyone,” she said. “The colours I used in this design I think are eye catching, bright, happy and I wanted this drawing to have contrast.“ Laura’s entry wowed a panel of eight judges from Wallara which also earned her a cheque for $250. The competition is held annually at two South-East schools to inspire students to depict social inclusion. Last year, Hallam Senior College and Alkira Secondary College were the chosen schools.

Doing it for Lucas By Jessica Anstice Officer resident John Schafer wants to give back to the people that helped his three year old son Lucas through cancer treatment. Lucas was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia when he was just 16 months old, on 19 September in 2016. Mr Schafer is fundraising for the different departments at the Monash Children's Hospital through the Monash Health Foundation (MHF) that help sick and scared children when going through treatment with activities such as arts therapy, music therapy and play therapy. The MHF guided Mr Schafer through the process of setting up an online fundraising page, ran by MHF called Everyday Hero. With a bunch of prizes to give away, donated by local business, Mr Schafer will be selling raffle tickets and holding a card night. He will also be cutting a ribbon shape in his hair and dying it yellow. "The money we raise will go to the music therapy department. Last year we did the arts therapy department by holding this fundraiser," Mr Schafer said. "There will be plenty of instruments for the therapists and children to use so we are really hoping that local businesses will get on board and help us put a smile on the children's faces. "If anybody has a music shop it would be really nice if we could get a discount and get more bang for our money." Mr Schafer said, "Having the support of family, friends and the wonderful people at the children's cancer centre means it makes our families journey through this a bit more bearable. "It's real easy to forget about Lucas sister Lauren, age five, we also need to remind ourselves that Lauren too needs time for herself playing with her friends or cousin." P plater clocked at 188km/h A 25 year old Narre Warren man has allegedly been caught high range drink driving and speeding. Police observed a Mazda 3 travelling east on Monash Freeway at 188km/h between Narre Warren Road and Clyde Road about 4.15am on 5 January. The vehicle exited on to Clyde Road where it was allegedly detected travelling at 108km/h in a 60 zone before being intercepted by police. The man had a breath alcohol reading of 0.139. Police say the driver's P1 Probationary driver's licence had been previously cancelled and disqualified at court. The vehicle, which belonged to his future father-in-law was impounded for 30 days. He is expected to appear at court at a later date with charges including reckless conduct endangering life and speed dangerous.

Outrage over parking fines By Brendan Rees Confused drivers are being stung with parking fines at the front of two hospitals along Kangan Drive in Berwick, with some describing it as "disgusting." Visitors and patients of St John of God Hospital and Casey Hospital are finding themselves with an unexpected $161 ticket on their windscreens after Casey Council introduced new parking restrictions last July.Lynbrook resident Michael Drew said he was slapped with a fine within three minutes of parking on the 13 December last year as he was about to visit a specialist at St John of God Hospital. "It was pouring rain. They've (parking officers) actually got out of their car and done that in the rain." He says council are "making money out of vulnerable people" from the parking ban, which affects about 40 parking spaces. The signs on Kangan Drive, which were installed on Friday 13 July 2018, show 'no stopping' restrictions from 7.30am - 9.30am and 2.30pm 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. During other hours of the day, parking is restricted to two hours. Since his fine, Mr Drew has been out at Kangan Drive most mornings while the ban was in place to warn other motorists. He says he's "saved" more than 60 people from a potential parking fine. This included four pregnant women and a disabled man on Friday 11 January. However, he said up to 27 people were being booked on any given day."They're all parked here because everyone else is ... it's 100 per cent deceiving." According to Mr Drew, he says council must change the signs to a clearway: "If they're nabbing people every day clearly it's not working." Other awards include the Casey Cardinia Business Award in 2017 in the Hospitality category. Wine writer James Halliday gave the 2016 Cannibal Creek Reserve Pinot Noir 95 out of100, while Jeremy Oliver has also highly
rated their wines saying that the Cannibal Creek Reserve Sauvignon Blan 2017 was ‘... one of the few Australian... that can rival the best from Marlborough’. The winery is fully equipped to process 40 plus tonne or grapes. The modern, quality equipment includes air bag press, crusher and destemmer, elevator, sorting table and transfer pump and must pump and tank storage for about 30,000 litres, many barrels and approximately 60000 bottles of wine stock at any given time. There is a packing shed with coolroom, a workshop, machinery shed and stockyards.
The vineyard comes with all vineyard equipment and tractors. I basically stopped marketing to schools and started marketing directly to parents through Facebook. I started booking out venues in Warragul, Traralgon, Wonthaggi, Casey and the Northern suburbs and I also went to Queensland and Perth doing these events motovating boys. Basically, I book the venue, I set up an advertising campagin on Facebook, parents book and turn up on the night with their boys. I had 273 people at the largest one. In January I am doing a tour from Melton to Canberra. I changed what I was doing because it was almost impossible to get through to the right people in schools. This way I get to speak directly to boys and their families. I am on the road a lot now. I have a team of people that come with me to my events to help me run them. I want to get to the point where my events are being held in every state in Australia. The most exciting thing about 2019 will be the launch of my new business, Savage Angels, which is Motov8 for girls. The slogan behind the business is that not all girls want to have fun. I want to empower girls to make choices independent of their femaninity. It’s about inspiring them to make choices about what they want out of life. I’ll get brand ambassadors on board and I won’t deliver the seminars but I’ll get an equally passionate the energetic person to do that for me.

The muesli business had to take a back seat to the grazing boards, which just took off. I had people asking me about orders for next year. Unfortunately, I was running my businesses out of my mum’s kitchen and we would have had to install a second sink to meet health regulations. It was a very difficult decision, but in the end it wasn’t worth the investment or the headache. With the muesli the volume I had to produce to make it profitable was beyond what I could do on my own. I have now joined forces with Clive Canal helping him with his business, Whozcookn. Clive needed admin assistance and he knew I have a real passion for food and for social enterprise. We met and got talking when we both co-worked at the Waterman Business Centre. I have reached out to a few celebrity chefs and I hope to be interviewing Maggie Beer in January for the Whozcookn website. My goal is to pursue a career in food writing. I would love to do a Bachelor of Arts in writing and write for magazines.

Schools are the key to active children says expert Sport Australia CEO Kate Palmer says schools are a key vehicle to solving the nation’s inactivity crisis. Ms Palmer launched the 31st Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER) International Conference at the AIS this week. Sport Australia is sponsoring and hosting the ACHPER conference at its AIS campus in Canberra, with 250 delegates from around the world including physical education teachers, sport educators, coaches and associated health practitioners. A report card released by the Active Healthy Kids Australia late last year scored Australia a D-minus for children’s physical activity levels, ranking the nation 32 of 49 countries. Research
shows 81 per cent of Australian children are not meeting our physical activity guidelines. “This is not good enough because we know sport and physical activity can play a crucial role in the holistic development of children, putting them on the path to vibrant and productive lives,” Ms Palmer said. “It can impact positively on their physical and mental health, social development, and their ability to learn. “There is also a long-term gain because we know children who grow up active and playing sport are 10 per cent more likely to remain active as adults. “We want to make daily physical activity a part of every child’s life and we believe
a key vehicle to solving our inactivity crisis is through schools. We want to support schools and teachers to deliver high quality physical education because we believe that is a critical vehicle for children to develop the confidence, competence and the motivation required to move. “Sport Australia is committed to making Australia the world’s most active nation and that will require generational change. Sport Australia wants to work collaboratively with the education sector and with organisations such as ACHPER, so together we can get Australian children moving more often.” The Australian Government’s $200 million Sporting Schools program, managed by Sport Australia, is one example of how Australian
children get free access to physical activity. In just over three years, the program has reached 84 per cent of Australian schools. “Despite the program’s enormous reach, evidence tells us we need more. Increasingly, Australian children are unable to perform basic fundamental movement skills such as running, throwing, kicking, catching or jumping," Ms Palmer said. “Sport Australia is developing a national commitment to increase physical literacy by embedding it within education environments. Keeping children safe Kidsafe Victoria has released a warning on the dangers of low speed run overs in the lead up to the start of the new school year - a time that signifies increased activity around driveways, school drop off zones and school crossings. The organisation said that the start of the new school year brings a reminder for motorists to be extra vigilant around crowded school areas, including obeying speed limits, crossing signals and parking and drop off zone rules, so as not to create dangerous pedestrian situations for children. Jason Chambers, General Manager of Kidsafe Victoria, noted that child pedestrians are at increased risk of injury because unlike adults, they can't see over parked cars, they can't tell where sounds are coming from and they think that if they can see you, you can see them. An emphasis is also being placed on safety around driveways with Kidsafe Victoria highlighting them as one of the most dangerous

areas around the home. "A large number of driveway run over incidents occur in the morning and late afternoon, both of which are busy times for families coming to and from school, kindergarten and work", said Mr Chambers. Most driveway run overs occur in the driveway of the child's own home, or in a friend or relative's driveway. The driver is usually a parent, relative or family friend. In the majority of cases, the driver doesn't know that the child is close to the vehicle, they believe that they are being looked after elsewhere. Mr Chambers said that it was important to remember that children are unpredictable and surprisingly quick, which places them at high risk around moving vehicles. "All cars have large blind spots, some more than 15 metres. Children's small size, together with these large blind spots, means that children standing or stepping behind the vehicle often cannot be seen from the driver's seat."

New jobs in cafe culture By Brendan Rees A new cafe has opened in Cranbourne East with the aim of providing a “second chance” for marginalised people to land a job. The cafe, L’Arte Central, will train people with mental health challenges to gain or return to employment, education, volunteering or other meaningful activities. City of Casey Mayor Amanda Stapledon joined the team of L’Arte Central to officially open the social enterprise cafe at 65 BerwickCranbourne Road, Cranbourne East in December. Life Central managing director Drew Gormlie said the cafe would create pathways for people into mainstream community life and help realise their full potential. “At L’Arte we don’t employ people to make coffee; we make coffee to employ people,“ he said. He said $125,000 had been raised to go towards building the facility with another
$200,000 needed to complete renovations. “We are still in the process of raising money but we have received $50,000 from the Lord Mayors Charitable Foundation and over $50,000 from private donors in the past year.“ It’s expected the cafe will open its doors to the public in March next year. “Life Central Services has invested considerable time, effort and finances over the last three years to get to the point where the cafe is no longer an idea,“ Mr Gormlie said. “Everyone deserves the opportunity to have meaningful employment as it provides so many benefits: income, connection and training.“ Mr Gormlie hoped the cafe would be a “vehicle“ for changing community attitudes towards those with mental health challenges. “As your coffee and food is prepared and served to you, L’Arte Central will be teaching hospitality and life skills to increase their employment opportunities and community engagement.“

Students learn all the dramas of ‘getting smashed’ By Cam Lucadou-Wells The Smashed Project is proof that learning can be entertaining - even on the serious issue of underage drinking. Theatre-in-education group Gibber Australia visited Hampton Park and Lyndhurst secondary colleges late last year as part of a national tour that’s reached 140 schools and 30,000 Year 8 and 9 students. Students don’t want to be lectured on “this stuff”, says Gibber Australia chief executive Tim Watt. “It talks in a language they understand, and in a way that entertains and engages them.”
The show aims for relevance. It portrays “pretty ordinary” teen characters in a slice of life, tackling the pressures to “fit in” and to “look cool”. The script is regularly updated with the language of the schoolyard. “If it’s unbelievable, they’re not going to go for it,” Mr Watt said. The play ends with an accident that has long-term consequences. The students then take part in interactive workshops, examining the choices made in the play’s “sliding doors” moments. Effectively, they’re advising each other on the dangers and the consequences, Mr Watt said.
Months down the track, sometimes the actors get a hint of the impact they have. Such as a student in the audience who stops her binge drinking and summons the courage to seek help. In a post-audience survey, 85 per cent said they were unlikely to drink alcohol underage. But overall, the stats aren’t as bad as people think. According to official surveys, less underage Australians were drinking or taking part in the binge culture of generations gone by, Mr Watt said. “The younger generation are taking on board the message about the risks of alcohol.”

The Demons batted first and the fluency of openers Cooper and Chris O'Hara loomed brightest. The pair swiftly knocked their way to 85, before the skipper was dismissed for 27. O'Hara combined superbly with Chris Bright (70) to bring the innings back on track with a match defining 108-run stand, that lifted the Demons to an imposing 7/261 off 40 overs. O'Hara made the Bulls pay, lifting his bat aloft for the first time since February 2014, in a sublime knock of 109. The Bulls got off to a slow start with Nooy and Ben Parrott back in the sheds within the first few overs, but gun recruit AJ Walker (102) took it to the Demons, blasting an excellent century before Cooper (2/48) broke through. The home side suffered a dramatic middleorder collapse - sparked by the brilliance of Jess Mathers (3/42) - going from 4/192 to 9/219 at the end of the 40 overs. Devon Meadows, meanwhile, picked up a crucial victory against Clyde. The Cougars bat-
ted first and soon found themselves at 4/34, before managing to stumble their way to 7/158 after Jason Hameeteman (41) played a fine hand. Underdog Jordan's utter jubilation after maiden win In what is just his second Wingless Sprints season, Jordan Abbott was considered one of the underdogs heading into the recent Summer Slam Series. Like any underdog, he was hungry to prove himself, and prove himself he certainly did, taking out his maiden feature-race win. Experiencing an encouraging start to the 2018/19 season by picking up a respectable eighth-place finish during a club show at Geelong's Avalon Raceway back in October, where over 50 cars were in attendance, the 17-yearold racer was hoping just to qualify for the feature races throughout the third-round Summer Slam Series; a goal which he well and truly exceeded. While his Summer Slam Series campaign didn't quite get off to the best start, being unable to transfer out of the B main during the opening round at Mount Gambier's Borderline Speedway, Abbott bounced back in the biggest way possible during round two at Hamilton's 22 STAR NEWS

Powering to a second-place finish in his opening heat race from position eight, Abbott backed up this result with another runner-up result in heat-race two, earning him the pole position start for the feature race. Focusing on the task at hand, Abbott refused to be intimidated, managing to get the jump on Weel at the drop of the green flag aboard his Vic # 46 Big Daddy Customs supported J&J car and controlling the pace out in front for each of the 30 scheduled laps to claim his maiden feature-race victory. "Even though we didn't have the best results in the other two Summer Slam Series rounds, scoring our first feature-race win at Western Speedway against such a tough field definitely has us all on a high," commented Abbott, whose Summer Slam Series was brought to a premature end after he broke a flex plate in opening heat race during the third and final round at Warrnambool's Premier Speedway.

Still dabbling in Speedway Karts in Seniors when he decided to step up into Wingless Sprints, Abbott purchased a rolling J&J Sprintcar chassis, contesting approximately 20 race meetings during his debut season. For Kooweerup local Jack Marshall, road cycling has quickly become his passion and there's no doubting his talents in the sport. The 18-year-old only began riding just over two years ago, but he has already displayed a great work ethic, love for the sport and talent. So much so that late last year he received the prestigious Mornington Cycling Club (MCC) Joel Hawkins Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship, which is awarded by the club in conjunction with the White Bike Foundation, will provide Marshall with a full platform of support for 2019, including coaching, race licence and race entry fees, club kit, as well as massage and sports therapy treatment and development opportunities. The scholarship means much more than just those benefits for Marshall though, it's about honouring Joel Hawkins, who was tragically killed while riding on the Nepean Highway in June 2015. Hawkins, who was an MCC member, was just 17 years old at the time and his coach Chris Savage founded the White Bike Foundation to educate and protect road-sharers, believing that everybody has the right to use the road safely and complete their journey. Savage spoke of Marshall's talent and respect. "We are delighted Jack will carry Joel's name - and The White Bike Foundation road safety message - on his journey with the scholarship in 2019," he said. "Jack is a talented cyclist and, most importantly, he is approaching life with the right attitude and an abundance of respect and mindfulness."
Marshall became involved in riding after competing in HPV (human powered vehicle) events at Kooweerup Secondary College. "I did what's called HPV, which is recumbent bike racing, at school and then a lot of my mates, who were also from the club, did road cycling." Marshall said. On the day Marshall was awarded the Joel Hawkins Memorial Scholarship, he also took out the MCC Under 19 club championship - a race that tested his sprinting ability as well as his endurance. "It was a 45km race around the back of Arthurs Seat and it ended up being a sprint between me and one other racer," Marshall said. "The final 2kms are up-hill slightly and we were just sort of attacking one another and then with about 50 metres to go I got around him and won the sprint. "I didn't win by much, it was probably only about half a bike length." The win gave him plenty of confidence, knowing that he can compete against great sprinters. "I've never really been much of a sprinter; I much prefer going earlier up-hill because I'm a bit lighter, so I was very happy to win a sprint." Despite having already achieved great wins and great improvement in his cycling, Marshall isn't satisfied and looks forward to utilising all that the scholarship offers him. "I'm happy with how my riding has been going lately, but it takes a good four to five years to get really good just with racing experience, but this scholarship will definitely boost that and I'm super pumped for the year of racing to come."

Dyna hunts down glory Favourite Dyna Hunter celebrated a deserved country cups triumph when enhancing his perfect record from box eight in the Group 2 Warragul Toyota Cup Final (460m) on Saturday night. It was a case of fourth time lucky in a provincial feature for Dyna Hunter and trainer Steve Collins, with the son of 2014 Melbourne Cup hero Dyna Villa having run second in the Ballarat Cup and fourth in the Healesville Cup. He was also scratched from the Geelong Gold Cup due to injury after winning his heat. Dyna Hunter qualified for the $47,000 tothe-winner Warragul Cup after running second in his heat, when run down by fastest qualifier Elevated in 25.48sec. Drawn perfectly in box eight, from where he boasted an unblemished six from six record, Dyna Hunter started $3.40 favourite in a keen betting affair, ahead of Orson Allen ($4.40), Big Flood ($4.60) and his heat conqueror Elevated ($4.90). Dyna Hunter came out running to lead youngster Jebrynah ($10.20) and Big Flood and forged clear turning for home as he defeated the brave Jebrynah, which was having just his eleventh start, by 2.46 lengths in 25.54sec. "Box eight is the perfect draw for him because he isn't always the best out of the boxes," said Jake Collins, son of trainer Steve. "The Warragul Cup field, it was a close your eyes and cross your fingers kind of race. Before the race, on form, boxes five, six and seven wanted to move to the fence and that is what happened to make room for Dyna Hunter out wide. "To win a country cup after being beaten on the line in the Ballarat Cup in December made this win that much more special! "I am not sure where Dyna Hunter goes after this Warragul Cup win. That's Dad's department and will depend on how he pulls up after tonight." Dyna Hunter has now 17 of his 36 starts, with great credit going to the Collins family after their newly-crowned Warragul Cup victor suffered a serious shoulder injury at just his second start, only one week short of one year ago. "It was a fantastic achievement from Mum and Dad, who worked hard with him after his runs at Sale where he didn't pull up too well," Jake said.

He is the kind of dog that you can sit in the kennel with him and he will put his head on your lap for a pat. It also helps that he has a bit of ability."
