Goal mark Holted Cranbourne legend Marc Holt has been slapped with a hefty six-week ban over an incident against Berwick in the South East Football Netball League (SEFNL) back on 30 June. At the tribunal hearing on Tuesday 24 July, Holt - currently sitting on 999 goals - was found guilty on two charges stemming from an incident that occurred during a half-time melee against the Wickers.

The independent tribunal deliberated for approximately an hour before making its final decision, with a two-game suspension for striking and a four-game suspension for kicking. from a suspension in Round 5 and has booted 30 goals in his eight games so far this year. With just four rounds of the home and away season left - followed by the finals - Cranbourne would need to advance deep into the season for Holt to get back in 2018. As the News went to print, Cranbourne had officially appealed the decision, and had its case heard at an AFL Victoria hearing on Wednesday 25 July at 7pm.
