The objective of the report, which will cover the 2017-'18 financial year, is to determine whether Victoria’s landfill levy system, including the Sustainability Fund, is reducing waste impacts on the environment, influencing investment in infrastructure for resource recovery, and encouraging innovative alternatives for waste treatment. “There have been ongoing issues with the landfill levy system, namely, its transparency and management and whether the funds expenditure is meeting the system’s intended legislative purposes,” the VAGO says of the issues it will look at. Cr Child said there were numerous and serious issues revealed on the Four Corners program which were worrying in the extreme. “It worried me ... of course it worried me, and that’s why I believe there should be a full investigation. “This (VAGO audit) is something I’ve been asking for for ages and I’m glad it’s in place in Victoria,” he said. The council report said that about 40 per cent of Visy’s glass collection was sorted as fine material and, due to supply exceeding current demand, this material was stockpiled until appropriate markets were found. Director Environment and Engineering, Mark Varmalis, said council would continue to work with Visy to advocate for new ways of utilising this glass, to reduce the amount held on-site and ensure no recyclable materials end up in landfill. Cr Jim Child is council’s representative on the Metropolitan Waste Local Government Forum. He said he moved a motion over a month ago that the Environment Minister, Lily D’Ambrosio provide an explanation of what the funds raised through the landfill levy were being used for. “There is close to $500 million sitting in there and in the last budget papers money was coming out of that fund to buy trams and do all sorts of things that has nothing to do with waste. The Four Corners program also revealed concerns about general garbage going into landfill. “When we see the things that we saw on Four Corners last night, it starts to make you wonder what is our levy

Yarra Ranges Council has moved to reassure residents that their efforts to recyle are not in vain, and is urging them to keep recycling. In the meantime, O’Shannassy Ward Councillor Jim Child says the issue is about more than glass and there needs to be more investigation into the State Government’s landfill levy and how that is spent. The council’s message on recycling followed a shocking ABC Four Corners report on Monday, 7 August, that revealed hundreds of thousands of tonnes of recycled glass was being stockpiled, and some dumped in landfill. The council then made inquiries of its recycle provider, Visy. At its meeting the next night (8 August) they issued a press release stating: “Recyclable materials collected from bins across Yarra Ranges do not end up in landfill with other rubbish, due to the strict processes by council’s recycling provider, Visy." Information provided included that glass from recycling bins was sorted by colour and sent to glass and bottle manufacturers and broken glass found in bins, classified as ‘fine material’ was separated in that process. Veterans get due respect By Kath Gannaway Vietnam veterans were applauded as they marched the length of Warburton on Sunday to commemorate the 521 Australians who died in the Vietnam War. The annual Yarra Valley and Outer Eastern Melbourne Vietnam Veterans Day service recognises the 3000 wounded and the many who still live with the fallout of the war. Vietnam veteran and former leader of the National Party and Deputy Prime Minister Tim Fischer took part in the march, and spoke of the military and broader role Australia played in that war. “There were some huge mistakes made, but the service of Australians was right up there in the best tradition of the Anzacs,” he said. He said it bought time for Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia to fortify their governments and stand up to the revolutionary forces in their provinces, helping bring a degree of stability to Australia. “That’s one of the legacies of the Vietnam War that should also be remembered as we salute your service here today,” he

Firearm amnesty
A woman was taken to Maroondah Hospital after a bus and car collided in Woori Yallock on the Warburton Highway Monday morning 14 August. The collision occurred about 7.45am, before the Woori Yallock creek, and traffic was redirected down the Old Warburton Highway while emergency crews worked to clean up the wreckage. The female driver of a Saab convertible was taken to Maroondah Hospital in a stable condition and the male bus driver was assessed by paramedics at the scene but not taken to hospital. Luckily only one passenger was on the bus at the time of the collision and was believed to be unhurt. A resident who lives by the major arterial said that this was the second collision that had occurred this year and that it was only a few metres from the last. Emergency services re-opened Warburton Highway about 9am. Yarra Valley Highway Patrol are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and anyone with information is urged to contact Yarra Ranges Highway Patrol on 9739 2300.

Hundreds of firearms have been handed in for registration, sale or destruction in Victoria in the first month of the National Firearms Amnesty. As of the end of July, 751 firearms had been surrendered in Victoria. Superintendent Paul Millett of the Licensing and Regulation Division said this was 751 fewer firearms that would otherwise be at risk of ending up in the wrong hands. “We have seen a good response to the amnesty so far,” he said. “Every unwanted or unregistered firearm or weapon that we can destroy or register is another step towards a safer Victoria. “We encourage everyone to think about any firearms or weapons that they have around the house or in storage and to take action by surrendering them to a licensed firearm dealer. Victorians have until 30 September to surrender unregistered and unwanted firearms, ammunition and weapons to licensed firearms dealers without fear of prosecution. Anyone surrendering firearms, weapons or ammunition during the amnesty should surrender to a licensed firearms dealer, and not directly to local police.

Opposition spokesperson on Planning and Local Government, David Davis, has declared his support for ensuring the Yarra Ranges Enterprise Centre (YREC) continues on its current site in Warburton. YREC, a not-for-profit organisation, has 20 small business tenants on the government-owned site at 21 Woods Point Road which is now up for sale after the State Government declared the land surplus to requirements in 2016. With Yarra Ranges Council declining their option to purchase the property, the ball is now in the State Government’s court as YREC seek the opportunity to purchase the property under ‘exceptional circumstances’ provisions. Mr Davis visited the site on 31 July as part of the Victorian Coalition Shadow Cabinet visit to the Yarra Valley. Mr Davis said the proposed sale and loss of YREC would be a blow to the local economy and local job creation. “It was great to see first-hand the valuable work the YREC does in nurturing the development of local small businesses and more job opportunities in the Yarra Ranges,” Mr Davis said. “The sale puts at grave risk the businesses in the YREC and the innovation that has been fostered there for nearly two decades. “I will be working hard to ensure this forced sale does not go through,” he said. At the last election, the Turnbull Government made a clear commitment to give all Australians a say on the matter of same sex marriage by way of a plebiscite. Same sex marriage is no ordinary legislative issue, and that is why it is the right thing to give the nation a chance to have its say. Nothing could be more democratic. After the election the Prime Minister introduced the legislation into the House of Representatives to enable the plebiscite to be held in February of this year. But it wasn’t, because Labor and the Greens combined to defeat it in the Senate. They both did so despite supporting just such a compulsory attendance plebiscite in the past. This week the government again sought to pass its legislation for a plebiscite in the Senate. Again, Labor and the Greens voted to prevent the Australian people having their say. That is why the government is now acting to give Australians their

I acknowledge that there have been extreme comments made on both sides of the debate that have been unacceptable. But I know that Australians are fundamentally decent and are capable of having a respectful and mature discussion.

Big bucks to mark centenary By Kath Gannaway To mark the Lions International centenary, Healesville Lions Club delivered grants of more than $40,000 to local community groups. Presenting the grants to representatives of schools from Dixons Creek through to Woori Yallock, four CFA brigades, Healesville SES, kindergartens, men’s sheds, the tourist railway, Healesville Pony Club, Scouts, Guides and welfare groups including HICCI and Melba Support Services, Lions president Lindsay Frost said local community funding was a priority for Lions clubs around the world. “$170 million, the bulk of money raised by clubs goes back to helping grow local communities world-wide,” he said.
The annual grants distribution dinner held at Healesville RSL on Wednesday, 26 July, was attended by more than 100 Lions and community members. Mr Frost said in addition to the money handed out on the night, Lions had supported local community and Lions International projects with grants of an additional $20,000 during the year. He thanked the volunteers who run the Lions Den Op Shop in Healesville, which raised majority of the funds, and all those who support the shop with donations and purchases. Mr Frost said the 2016/'17 year had been one of the most exciting for the club in many years with the establishment of the Leo Club of Healesville High School which, he said, had some

of interpretive sculptures erected throughout Coronation Park that would each depict an element of the history of Healesville.
Yarra Ranges Council endorsed 10 projects for submission to the State Government’s 2017/'19 Growing Suburbs Fund, on Tuesday 8 August. Through this fund, the government is making available $50 million for the 10 councils on the rural/metropolitan interface to help deliver important community projects. In previous years, the government allocated $50 million for one year. This sum has effectively been halved, with $50 million now available over two years, so the competition for funding is likely to be intense. The guidelines indicate that preference will be given to larger projects, community partnerships and co-contributions which demonstrate local need, including social disadvantage. Council endorsed several projects for submission to the 2017/'19 Growing Suburbs Fund. They include
Monbulk community and sports pavilion; Warburton Community Recreation Precinct; Burrinja Cultural Centre Redevelopment, Upwey; all-weather redevelopment of Pinks Reserve netball courts at Kilsyth; Warburton Mountain Bike Destination; Queens Park, Healesville District Playspace; Yarra Valley Trail; Ridgewalk; Central Park, Belgrave Heights Playspace and Belgrave Lake Park District Playspace. The successful projects are expected to be announced from November 2017, with an understanding that councils will match the funding dollar for dollar. At the meeting, council gave in principle support and approval for matching funding from the Capital Expenditure Program in future years for the delivery of each of those projects that are successful in submission to the Growing Suburbs Fund. Construction is required to commence no later than September 2018, with projects to be completed within three years.

Letters What's the agenda? In reference to the ‘Mail’ article ‘Safety for gliders’ (1 August 2017): Why is it that the Andrews Government is fighting to save the Heyfield Sawmill and all their jobs when their own Environment Minister, Lily D’Ambrosio, has temporarily halted harvesting in Kings Coupe at Hermitage Creek in Toolangi? (Friends of Leadbeater’s Possum Chairman) Steve Meacher wouldn’t even think of looking in national parks, reserves and water catchments for the Leadbeater’s Possum and Greater Glider because it won’t achieve their main purpose, which is to stop timber harvesting totally. If they looked in national parks, reserves and water catchments, they would find there are plenty of colonies, but that would go against their agenda. Sue McKinnell, Healesville.
Warburton shame Finally I received a letter giving me the opportunity to object to the proposed hydro project on Ythan Creek in Warburton - the deadline being 5 August 2017! No community involvement has been instigated, and most of the residents know little or nothing about this $1 million project. This beautiful little town is the jewel in the crown of the Yarra Valley - with an injection of funds it could really sparkle! The shire, local and federal governments, Melbourne Water, Bendigo Bank etc, etc have missed the mark yet again! Instead of sparkle we have the biggest eyesore in the Yarra Valley, right on the banks of the river, the so-called “Edgewater Resort and Spa”. This disgrace has been a political handball for the Shire of Yarra ranges for 15 years, with everybody bar the town drunk being blamed for it not coming to fruition. The Federal Government is so busy discussing same-sex marriage, people are asking who the hell is running the country? The ABC aired a heart-wrenching story on neglect of the elderly, still we talk about a plebiscite, still we will build a $1 million pathetic hydro system that will help no-one. Older people are reluctantly moving out of their homes in Warburton due to no facilities and amenities for them here.

And the rules? Replying to your article (Mail, 1 August) “Boinga Remains” ... the other side of the coin. Why do we have building regulations, town planning laws? Or are they just for builders and developers? As a registered builder in this Valley for 43 years and just retired I have full knowledge of what is needed for works to comply with all building regulations, costing my customers thousands of dollars on their price. Over the years I have often driven past this eyesore in Highfield Road (Warburton) and wondered how it has been allowed to get so out of hand. You can’t have structures built right up and over the road and so close to powerlines it is a fire hazard. If a certificate of occupancy has not been issued then it could not have insurance, and not in my book be a compliant, habitable dwelling. All my working life I have been governed by building regulations and have played the rules so have the majority of law-abiding citizens. Did it ever have a building permit issued, and if so who was the relevant building surveyor. I hold the Shire of Yarra Ranges building and town planning department responsible - they should have nipped this in the bud years ago, and then it would have not got so out of hand. YREC support I was very pleased to visit the Yarra Ranges Enterprise Centre (YREC) in Warburton after the Shadow Cabinet meeting in Healesville in July.
It was great to see first-hand the valuable work the YREC does in nurturing the development of local small businesses and more job opportunities in the Yarra Ranges. The local member for Eildon, Cindy McLeish has been a great supporter of the YREC and the YREC’s work led by the board and the executive officer Alison Fitzgerald. The YREC has been going for nearly 20 years, but is now under threat. The property it occupies is being sold from under it by the Andrews Labor Government. Melbourne Water owns the lease but now
wants to sell the whole property. The sale puts at grave risk the businesses in the YREC and the innovation that has been fostered there for nearly two decades. I will be working hard to ensure this forced sale does not go through. The loss of the YREC would be a blow to the local economy and local job creation. Bryn’s 85 candles By Kath Gannaway At 85 years young, Healesville tennis player Bryn Jones is showing no signs of slowing down. Bryn, whose introduction to the net started as a dad transporting daughter Kylie to Saturday morning competition, has been playing ever since after stepping in to fill a place on the Toolangi team some 40 years ago. He still plays social tennis at Healesville twice a week, saying it’s part of a life-time interest in keeping fit, as well as playing for enjoyment and the friendship he enjoys with other players. Bryn celebrated his 85th birthday with a morning tea in the clubrooms on his birthday, Monday 31 July - and, yes, he had plenty of puff left to blow out the birthday candles!
Marjorie “Betty" Warner, a longtime resident of Healesville, died peacefully in June, just two months short of her 100th birthday anniversary. Betty was well-known as she had lived in the Healesville district for nearly 50 years, first at Trench Farm on Myers Creek Road, from 1966 to 1984, and then in Symons Street until 2014. Only reluctantly did she decide to move to an aged care centre in Croydon, in 2014. Betty was born in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, England where she grew up. One of her first adult jobs was as the headmaster’s secretary at the local grammar school where her administration and leadership skills were quickly recognised and put to good use. She married Vin Warner in 1948 while he was a captain in the Royal Signals in the British Army working on the then new field of electronic communications. The army postings over the next decade involved much travel, with their three children all born in different parts of the world: Chris, in Wales, Andrew in South Australia and Angela in Germany. Vin left the army in 1956 as a lieutenant-colonel and his new job was back in South Australia, so Betty packed the family’s bags and she moved “Down Under" for the rest of her life.
In 1966 Vin changed jobs to eventually become the general manager of an international electronic communications company involved with the Apollo space missions which built a new factory and research centre in Lilydale. The family chose Healesville and farm life for their new home and Betty quickly settled into the local community where she and Vin both had active roles at the Healesville Hospital, she as president of the women’s auxiliary and Vin as a board member. Betty received an award for 20 years of charity service at the hospital and was made a Life Governor of the hospital in 1986. Betty was also a stalwart for more than 40 years of the ladies' golf group at the Healesville RACV Country Club. A year after Vin’s death from cancer in 1983, Betty moved into a home and extensive gardens she had designed on a bare block she and Vin had purchased in Symons Street. Over the next 30 years, she became a well-known local identity involved with Probus and various groups covering theatre trips, aerobics exercise, walking and of course gardening, which was her favourite hobby; her garden was remarkable for the range and quality of its roses, camelias, rhododendrons and crepe myrtles among many others. She loved living in Healesville and enjoyed shopping in the main street, where she was regularly seen chatting with other locals. Betty’s legacy lives on through her three children - her four grandsons, Tom, Joe, Patrick, and Thom, and six great grandchildren, Alice, Jack, Leroy, Charlotte, James and Sadie.

Nagging sounds need attention With Hearing Awareness Week taking place from Sunday 20 to Saturday 26 August, Natural Hearing Healesville is striving to help individuals understand and gain control of the hearing condition known as tinnitus. Defined as a symptom rather than a disease, there is no known cure for tinnitus. As Vinay Kumar from Natural Hearing in Healesville explained, tinnitus is the sensation of hearing sounds when no sound is existent. “Tinnitus is defined as the auditory perception of sounds when there is no external sound present. Tinnitus is a perception of sound generated in auditory pathway. The location and reason of sound generated in auditory pathway is unknown,” Vinay said. “It is perceived in the different types such as ringing, buzzing, hissing, humming, whistling or roaring. It can be constant or intermittent. It could be in only one ear or both. Tinnitus may even wake you up from sleep or make difficult to go to sleep.” Although there are many possible causes, some people develop tinnitus for no apparent reason. Natural Hearing list possible causes of tinnitus as exposure to loud sounds, natural ageing process, sudden impact of loud noises, head or neck injuries, reaction to medicine or emotional distress, and link tin-
nitus with hearing loss. “Tinnitus and hearing loss often co-exist. Approximately, 90 per cent of tinnitus sufferers experience some degree of hearing concerns. Most people with tinnitus think that their troubled hearing is caused by tinnitus, but in fact it is other way around and tinnitus can be due to hearing loss. The hearing loss is often caused by inner hair cells damage. “Hearing aids are very helpful for many people who have tinnitus with early onset. The longer tinnitus is left untreated, the more difficult it is to overcome with hearing aids. The more you hear, the less you may notice your tinnitus. With hearing aids, your brain has other sounds to listen to, making your tinnitus less noticeable. “If you have tinnitus symptoms, a hearing evaluation is strongly recommended... but no single approach works for everyone. Glorious hilarity By Wendy Williamson A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed for theatregoers at the Arts Centre Warburton this Saturday 19 August. On stage will be ‘Glorious!’ the hilarious smash hit by Peter Quilter, telling the story of New York socialite and wannabe opera star Florence Foster Jenkins, a tone deaf soprano with a heart of gold. You may have seen the movie, ‘Florence Foster Jenkins,’ which starred Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant. It was inspired by the play, nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award - Best New Comedy when it was first staged in 2005. “A lunatically funny play that will keep you very happy ... a glittering comedy with a heart,” wrote the ‘Sunday Times’ critic.
A new stage production of ‘Glorious!’ is now touring regional eastern Australia, and Yarra Valley theatregoers are fortunate to be on the route. The first night audience at Shepparton last week loved the play and laughed and laughed, according to Diana McLean, who stars as Florence in the new production. TV audiences will be familiar with McLean’s work on ‘The Young Doctors,’ ‘Number 96’ and ‘All Saints’ and she toured from her Sydney base with ‘4000 Miles.’ McLean was captivated by Florence as soon as she saw the script, she told ‘The Mail.’ “She’s a wonderful character. She was quite oblivious to how dreadful she was as a singer.”
Florence, she said, was a very determined woman, and because she was so wealthy, so charming and so generous with her charity work nobody in 1940s America liked to turn down her requests to perform. The culmination was a triumphant performance at New York’s Carnegie Hall. Alongside McLean on stage in this fabulously over-the-top three-hander are Felicity Soper, playing no fewer than three separate roles, and Mitchell Roberts as Cosme McMoon. ‘Glorious!’ is on at the Arts Centre Warburton on Saturday 19 August at 7.30pm. Atomic Blonde, a spy thriller following an undercover MI6 agent in Berlin during the final days of the Cold War, has many great pieces stuck in an underwhelming whole. The performances are very natural, Charlize Theron is a stolidly compelling lead and the film has some visceral, superbly choreographed action sequences, including a brutal singletake fight scene in a stairwell. But while Atomic Blonde is saturated with historical accuracy and neon ’80s style, the plot trudges along with a lack of urgency between the riveting action scenes. The film repeatedly stresses
the importance of retrieving ‘the list’, a record of every undercover agent in Berlin, but you can’t help but feel that the Berlin Wall coming down in the background would offer a much more interesting story. Atomic Blonde is an entertaining film with an insubstantial plot, but Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is total garbage.
Dane DeHaan is a terribly wooden, aggressively masculine and thoroughly unpleasant hero, the leads (DeHaan and Cara Delevingne) have no chemistry, the characters are thinly-written and the plot is nonsensical. There was a method and richly-detailed universe to the zany madness of Jupiter Ascending, but Valerian has barely any cohesion or clear goals from scene to scene. It even ruins what would have been an effective twist through illogical behaviour and the plot showing its cards too early. Atomic Blonde is worth your time, but avoid Valerian at all costs. - Seth Hynes

HALF-PRICE HOMES IN REGIONAL CENTRES WITH a median house price of $385,000, regional Victoria offers buyers the opportunity to enter the property market for less than half the metropolitan Melbourne median. New REIV data shows the Latrobe Valley in Gippsland is home to the state’s most affordable towns with median house prices below $200,000. In the year to 30 June, Moe in the state’s east was Victoria’s most affordable town with buyers able to purchase a home for a median price of just $166,000. This was followed by nearby Morwell and Churchill with
median house prices of $175,000 and $190,000 respectively. Both towns have experienced moderate price growth over the year with house prices in Morwell up 6.1 per cent on the same time last year while Churchill’s median house price has increased 4 per cent. Newborough, also in the Latrobe Valley, was another of the state’s most affordable towns with a median house price of $228,750. Proximity to Melbourne combined with improved road and rail infrastructure, such as the Regional Rail Revival project, is likely to drive long-term price
growth in these areas. Stawell and Red Cliffs also offered affordable opportunities for buyers to get a foothold on the property ladder with median house prices of $200,000 and $205,000 respectively. In the state’s west, Portland and Hamilton were also at the affordable end of the market with median house prices around $222,000. Buyers on a budget should also consider Benalla ($235,000), Kyabram ($238,000) and Myrtleford ($242,500). Meanwhile, Wendouree and Sebastopol on the rural-urban
fringe of Ballarat both offer affordability with median house prices around $250,000. Other areas offering value for money include Mildura ($255,000), Maffra ($255,500), Shepparton ($258,000) and Corio ($264,000). Despite significant double-digit growth in the past year, Norlane is another affordable option for buyers with a median house price of $258,000. A win can transcend borders USA hosted Papua New Guinea in the Divisional 1 AFL Men’s International Cup at Montrose Recreation Reserve, on Saturday 12 August, and it was nothing short of thrilling. The PNG Mosquitoes were able to overcome the USA Revolution and have given themselves a new opportunity to make the 2017 International Cup final. The PNG players showed a superb display of dexterity, athleticism and great football skills which allowed them to control much of the game. USA Revolution came into the game brimming with confidence after two good wins in the first few rounds over Canada and South Africa. They had also developed a strong relationship with the Montrose Football Club and had trained with Montrose earlier in the week. Both the Revolution and the Mosquitoes had a number of Australianbased/experienced players playing in match. The first bounce set the mood for the day with the Americans winning the ruck taps consistently, but PNG able to control the stoppages.
USA started well with Clyde Simpson goaling from 45 metres out and Jason Wilhelm was producing great drive around the ground. But, the Mosquitoes rebounded with Emmaus Wartovo kicking to Amua Mizza Pirika for a mark and goal. The first quarter saw USA kick two goals, but PNG’s accuracy proved too good with them kicking three goals and zero behinds. In the second quarter, PNG began to pull away with quick and rapid movement at ground level which proved too much for USA, and PNG used quick chips around the boundary quickly kicked six goals to USA’s four. The teams went into half time with USA on 26 points and PNG on 37 points. The third and fourth quarters saw PNG streak away as they became more confident and the Mosquitoes began mixing up short chips around the boundary line with long torpedoes into the centre. A last minute addition by the USA to the ruck did little to stem the tide and though new ruckman Tim Lindfelt was able to direct the ball away, PNG

Motoring Wool meet again ... baaa! By Kath Gannaway When Warburton resident Lachie Pitman heads north on the Variety Club Bash on Friday, 18 August, he will be in interesting company (apart from two sheep in gumboots)! Lachie will head out on his 15th Bash with Mike Brady of ‘Up There Cazaly’ fame, former VFL champion footballer David Cloak and Sal Vitiello, project manager for Spotlight Group and team navigator and IT guru. The 2017 Variety Bash starts in Melbourne on the 18th and finishes 3500 kilometres further on at Fraser Island on 26 August. The Bash is renowned for its off-track/outback culture, but the first time in the history of Australia’s largest and longest-running charity motoring event, the Yarra Valley’s highways and byways are included in the adventure. In another first, Mail journalist Derek Schlennstedt will sign on as a guest crew member for the Yarra Valley stage which starts in Toolangi around 10am where team “Sheep Assist Wool Save Ewe” will call in at Toolangi Primary School to make an early grant.
Lachie says the Variety Bash is the only motoring event in Australia that supports kids in need on the road, and this year the focus is on the ‘big give’ with teams stopping along with grants to schools and other organisations from their team fund-raising. Team SAWSE will pass through Healesville, Yarra Junction, Wesburn, Millgrove and Warburton on their way to their next stop (eta 11am to 11.30am) at Millwarra Primary School, East Warburton, where they will make a second grant. They will continue on (minus Derek) through Noojee and Neerim South on their way to their first overnight stop at Traralgon. Cars must be over 30 years old to take part in the event and can be ‘themed’ to add to the interest, enjoyment and amusement of townspeople along the way. The 1979 LTD is remarkable for the two sheep in gumboots adorning the roof, and the team who have adopted a sheepish persona to match. Lachie was recruited to the Bash 15 years ago when as Brady’s bank manager he was invited to get involved in the iconic fund-raising event.
