Puck’s a charitable soul By Hollie Harris THIS friendly face is known to many in our community as the face of ‘Puck’. Each year we celebrate a local who has done outstanding work to help make our Noosa community a better place and this year, we have named Glenn ’Puck’ Puckeridge as Noosa Today’s Person of the Year. This quiet, humble man works

tirelessly behind the scenes of many fundraisers throughout the year and dedicated countless hours to those in need. He has been a valued and respected employee with Noosa Golf Club for over 10 years, and during this time Glenn has given a great deal of personal time to contribute to the community. Over the years, Glenn has not only been involved in, but also been

the sole organiser of many fundraising events, in particular the annual Smile for a Child Combined Clubs Charity Golf Day held in September. He is well known by so many members of our community for his outstanding efforts to support other businesses and charities and as a very selfless and giving person. The Smile for a Child Charity Golf Day, an initiative of five clubs in the Noosa area (Sunshine Beach

SLSC, Noosa Heads SLSC, Noosa yacht and Rowing Club, Tewantin Noosa RSL and Noosa Golf Club) was first held in 2007 and has grown to be a successful event. The golf day helps several charities such as the Starlight Foundation, Sunshine Butterflies, Sunny Kids, Hear and Say Centre, KIDS Foundation and The Leukaemia Foundation to name a few. To date, Glenn has helped raise

$323,000 for local children’s charities. It goes without saying that Glenn is a very humble and valued team member of Noosa Golf Club and all staff, members and the community can’t thank him enough for his continued efforts. There isn’t a more deserving person to receive the honour of this award as a small token of appreciation.
