Send Santa a letter
THE Peregian Springs community can now look forward to teeing off following news the golf course is due to reopen mid-December. A statement from Aveo announced Victorian company Golf Services Management Pty Ltd (GSM) had been granted a five-year lease to operate the Peregian Springs golf course with an option for a further five-year lease. Aveo said the announcement follows an “urgent but thorough process” by the Board of Holdings to identify an experienced golf course operator and manager for the site. The former Peregian Springs Golf Course was closed earlier this year after the club was forced into administration and liquidation. The closure left residents outraged and hundreds gathered at a community meeting to voice their anger and form the Peregian Springs Residents Association (PSRA). PSRA president Bob Joubert said the association was delighted to hear the club would re-open. “This is fantastic news,” he said. “We are very excited by the news, which is pleasing to the whole community, whether golfers, home owners or residents, keen on seeing this wonderful facility being properly used again.” Mr Joubert said the PSRA couldn’t take credit for the re-opening of the course but said it was great a great example of “people power”. HOW the year flies past! Including today, there are just six more Thursdays until Christmas so we were relieved when we heard from Santa and his helpers at the North Pole that the special Christmas letterbox was on its way to Noosa Today. Much to our delight, the Christmas letterbox has arrived safely and is now out the front of Noosa Today’s Mary Street office ready to receive letters to Santa. Last year more than 40 good boys and girls sent their letters to Santa through the magical box. This year, everyone is welcome to send a letter to Santa and everyone who does will receive a personalised letter right back just before Christmas. Don’t forget to include your address on your letter so Santa knows where to send his reply. Santa’s letterbox will be out the front of Noosa Today, 36 Mary Street, Noosaville, from today (17 November) until Monday 19 December. You can drop your letter off from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Left: Bowie and Kyan Harris make sure Santa has their Christmas wish list nice and early.
Peregian Springs will soon spring back to life with news the site will re-open in midDecember.
