POPULAR Channel Seven television personality Liz Cantor will join a raft of other celebrities and locals in the Celebrity Grape Crush on Saturday as the 50th Stanthorpe Apple and Grape Harvest Festival moves into high gear this weekend. Liz Cantor, who presents the Gold Lotto Draw and weather, and has roles on Queensland Weekender and Creek to Coast, will join other celebrities, including fellow Weather Presenter Livio Regano. As part of the Breeze/Rebel FM Carnival, the grape crush will be held between 4pm and 4.30pm, near the Stanthorpe post office. The beloved event will see celebrities and local identities come together to compete for the title of Queensland Grape Crushing Champion. Ms Cantor said she was looking forward to visiting for the Stanthorpe Apple and Grape Festival. “I can’t wait to get messy in the Grape Crush,“ she said. As well as her grape crushing role, Ms Cantor will also be a co-master of ceremonies for the When in Rome Festival Ball tomorrow night. More than 600 people will dance the night away at the sold-out event. The main day in the festival’s calendar, Saturday will kick-start at 9am with the street carnival. Gates to the Heritage Bank Multicultural Carnival and Wine Fiesta, in Weeroona Park, will open at 10am. The highlight of the day is expected to be the grand parade at 2pm, and the day in the main street will finish with fireworks at 7.30pm. The Showgrounds will host the Stanthorpe Rodeo, a chance to see top locals pitted against some of the best cowboys in Queensland and NSW and some of the top stock. Featuring rodeo comedian Ian Bostock and live music by Mik Oberle, the event is sure to entertain with full catering and licensed bar until midnight.
