TENTERFIELD Shire Council will begin the search for a new general manager next week following the resignation of Lotta Jackson after a fouryear term. Mayor Peter Petty said Ms Jackson had accepted an executive position in the health industry and her resignation would come into effect in early March. He said an extraordinary meeting of the council would be held next Wednesday to start the process which could take up to two months.

Mayor Petty said the meeting would be held to choose the organisation that would conduct the search and interviews for the new GM and then things would progress from there. He said the council had been sad to see Lotta Jackson leave after her long tenure. “Although sorry to see the general manager go, Lotta goes with our best wishes and I know the community of Tenterfield Shire will join me in wishing her well,” Mayor Petty said. “Our loss will be the health industry’s gain.
