Unveiling unique town snapshot
THE 2015 Noosa Jazz Festival is under three weeks away and this year delivers a stellar line-up that will have all the cool cats swinging through the night. Joining the big name acts is a swag of local talent, so don’t miss a moment of this annual celebration of all things jazz. See page 7 for the festival’s new theme and see who will be coming to Noosa to perform at this year’s festival from Thursday 3 September.
NOOSA Today is proud to announce The Noosa Project – a celebration of the community’s unsung heroes and everyday legends who make this such a unique place to live. From single parents raising a family to those who are working behind the scenes, we want to shine a light on people who work hard to make Noosa the warm, welcoming community it is. But we need your help. We’re calling for nominations of people in the community who deserve to be celebrated for their hard work or dedicated care of people in the community. We all know someone who is inspiring and worth celebrating and we want to help shine a light on their great work. Want to get involved in The Noosa Project? There are two ways to get involved. You can nominate someone who deserves to be celebrated or even yourself. We want to hear about mums who volunteer, dads who mow the local football grounds, sisters who raise funds for a local cause or brothers who spend their weekends coaching local sporting teams. You can email your nomination to newsdesk@noosatoday.net.au and include your nominee’s name and a little bit about them and what they do. Or, you can come along to the Noosa Show at Pomona showgrounds on Friday 11 September and Saturday 12 September and visit the Noosa Today tent. We will be armed with cupcakes and a camera so we can take your photo. We want to snap a photo of as many Noosa locals as we can to create a snapshot of our local town because we’re all a local hero in our own way. See next week’s Noosa Today for the first in a series of stories highlighting the work of inspiring locals.
