ROTTEN apples, rock-hard rice and other meals that “look like excrement” are on the menu at Barwon Health’s McKellar Centre, according to patients. They have accused the centre of leaving pre-cooked meals in warmers for two days before serving them to rehabilitation patients and elderly-care residents at the North Geelong facility. But Barwon Health has defended its food, saying patients and residents might misunderstand the “complexity” of serving 3500 meals a day. FULL STORY, PAGE 3
