The Worship Service for today will be a Hymn Fest! The Quarterly Business Meeting and Luncheon will be held following today’s service. Please join us for Bible Study on August 2 at 10:30 am or 6:00 pm as we watch the first half of the true story of Robert Sheffey. Sheffey was an American Methodist evangelist and circuit-riding preacher, renowned for his eccentricities and power in prayer, who ministered to and became a part of the folklore of the Appalachian region of southwest Virginia, southern West Virginia and eastern Tennessee. We will finish the film on Tuesday August 9. This week we are hi-lighting the Worship Committee, Deaf Ministry, Fellowship and Flowers & Decorations Teams to help you decide how you can use your gifts & passions at SABC. SERVE-BE-the-Church forms are located at both entrances of the church or you can call the church office.
WORSHIP COMMITTEE – The Worship Committee shall be composed of at least six members whose duties shall be to assist the staff in planning and evaluating the order of worship and music for all services, regular and special, and in planning and promoting music education for all ages. DEAF MINISTRY TEAM – The purpose of the ministry is to provide opportunities for worship, Bible study, and fellowship to the hearing-impaired and deaf of the church and community. FELLOWSHIP TEAM – The purpose of the Fellowship Team is to plan and supervise recreational events and church fellowships which enhance Christian growth, the fun of church togetherness, and integration of new members into the life of the church. FLOWERS & DECORATIONS – The Flowers and Decoration Team is responsible for providing flowers and adornments to the sanctuary and building during regular and special services and during special seasons of the year. The choir is in need of additional singers. If anyone would like to join and would like extra help in learning the music, please contact Pat McKinster at 276-806-4170.
