REDESIGNING RURAL

DELIVERED BY SCOTTISH ENTERPRISE ON BEHALF OF THE NATIONAL TRANSITION TRAINING FUND

Building on the successful pilot Earlier in 2021, the Scottish Enterprise Rural Team were successful in securing National Transitional Training Funding to deliver Redesigning Rural Year 2

Showing huge faith in the talent and ambition of the alumni of the Scottish Enterprise Rural Leadership Programme

Redesigning Rural is a bespoke offering for the alumni to both build on the opportunities for their own business but to also contribute to the wider recovery of the Scottish economy in this post pandemic phase

It's a very simple but effective opportunity...

A Rural Leader offers an individual a 10 week paid placement in their business. If your own business employs less than 50 people it is fully funded. If you have more than 50 you are asked to contribute 20% of the costs.

You recruit and select the placement candidate yourself so you have complete control of this. They just have to be over 25 who have been made unemployed, are facing unemployment, or whose job is at risk as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and/or EU Exit. Exemptions are staff in existing employment as well as family members.

Acknowledging that there is value for a Rural Leader to offer leadership and mentoring support to an individual so you can claim up to £750 of your time to support this.

Reskilling/upskilling, training and gaining new qualifications is an integral part of Redesigning Rural and the fund allows you to claim for the costs of this as well.

There are 50 placements available and it is encouraged to provide opportunities for upskilling, reskilling and access to new skills in support of Scotland’s net zero and digital ambitions.
