PIR Sensor is a low priced small Passive Infrared Motion detection Sensor. Also known as IR (motion sensor) applies to projects that need to detect human or particle movement in certain range. Motion detection is used in a variety of applications and is easy to implement using PIR motion sensor. The applications which are included in PIR sensor are electromechanical system or proximity sensors for lighting and alarm sensors.

How it works?

It’s basic principles of working is that whenever it detects a change in Infrared radiation, it generates digital output signal. It is made up of 2slots of special material to IR, when somebody comes in sensor’s range, the former slot creates a positive differential voltage while on passing by the second slot makes it a negative deferential voltage. This change is detected in the sensor.

What it detects?

PIR Sensors is installed with such features that they can detect human or animal motion. The reason behind this is that Human’s emit infrared radiation. It comes with the mechanism that when humans come in sensing range of the PIR sensor, these changes in the radiation gets detected by the sensor resulting in the output sensor to go high.
