While Minimalism can be traced back to the early 20th century, the simplistic focus and functional intent of its approach has made it one of the most enduring design trends.

With its “less is more” aesthetic, it makes use of intentional white or negative space to give breathing room to other elements, and allows for a clear focal point.

Rooted in the nostalgia of the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, Modern Retro takes vintage typefaces and colour palettes and gives the design a more contemporary appeal. Its use of nerd culture (think: pixel art, PCs, abstract illustrations, and neon) embraces an appreciation for authenticity and creates a connection between the design and the viewer.

While Modular Layout design makes use of a block grid pattern in its composition, this technique is anything but boring. Unanticipated patterns and variability in layouts create immediate interest for the viewer and encourages further appraisal of other elements of the collateral.

With its consistent straight and curved lines against a simple background, the use of Line Art in logo design sets brands apart and positions them as modern and relaxed. Simplicity is key as this tactic allows for the presence of productive negative space, again creating powerful impact through humility.
