Coaching Staff HEAD COACH ED NULL .... a nat ive of Staunton, att ended Robert E. Lee High School and prepped at Staunton Military Academy, graduated from Hampden-Sydney in 1940.

He started his coaching career at Culpeper in

the season of '40 and had a record of 10 wins and 1 defeat.

He has started football at Spotsylvania and Albe-

marle.

ASSISTANT COACH JULIAN KING-Graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School, Kingsport, Tennessee, in 1950, played four years of football at V. P. I. before a two-year tenure with Uncle Sam.

He gained coaching

experience as freshman back coach at Tech for one year, HEAD COACH ED NULL

and assistant football and head baseball coach at Staunton Military Academy for one and a half years.

MARSHALL ABEL-This versatile senior has won three varsity letters as an end but leads the P atriots this year as a n outstanding quarterback. At 174 pounds he is a keen competitor and will be a constant threat to Albemarle foes. On defense he will be found doing a rugged job at the flank post.

His name is expected to be heard plenty before his 3 years of football terminates. A rugged lineman, Billy came up from the J. V. team during the latter part of last season.

CLYDE LYNCH- This explosive veteran of three varsity years will lead the team as co-captain and left half-back.

At the time of this writing the team's hopes for Clyde are shadowed due to a very serious illness, however, with his great competitive spirit we are sure that he will be with us, maybe not physically, but in a leaders hip capacity.

SIDNEY MARSHALL-This hard-hitting guard is rated the top defensive man on the squad. A hard worker, Sidney is one of the top choices for All-District honors this season. He will be entering his third year of varsity play, his second year a s a starting guard for the Patriots.

SIDNEY MARSHALL-This A . H. S. co-captain played a tremendous offensive and defensive game against Culpeper. He was credited with seven solo tackles and eight assists.
