STANG Magazine Special Edition: Spring Fever 2026 Volume 4

Page 1

Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! - Daniel Ramey, Editor-In-Chief

A TRIBUTE TO SOMEONE WHO HELPED INSPIRE THE DREAM BEHIND IT ALL...

I have had a passion for cars, especially Mustangs, since I was a little girl. I grew up working on cars alongside my dad and grandfather, which helped build the love and appreciation I have for them today.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

If you know me at all, you know I am completely obsessed with Mustangs, especially my own Mustang, better known as “Venom.” I enjoy everything about him - from customizing and working on upgrades, to driving him, and even simply admiring him. But do you know the story behind him? Venom is dedicated to the memory of my brother-in-law, Jason Tirado. Jason and I shared a deep bond and connected through many things, but our greatest passions were Mustangs, the Venom comic series, and the New York Yankees. Jason fought a long and courageous battle with Esophageal Cancer before passing away on October 3, 2021.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquir ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

Before his passing, one of his final wishes was for me to carry out our vision of building a Venom-themed Mustang. It took several years for me to begin bringing that dream to life, but today Venom is slowly becoming the project car we always imagined together. With every modification, every detail, and every new piece added, I feel a deep connection to Jason that makes this build even more meaningful and I know he would be proud of what it is becoming. Powered by Ford’s legendary 5.0L Coyote V8, this 2018 Mustang GT commands attention long before it arrives. The deep rumble of the exhaust, the aggressive stance, and the unmistakable presence make Venom impossible to ignore. Every curve, every detail, and every modification reflects passion, personality, and purpose. Whether sitting under the lights at a car show or rolling down the highway, Venom delivers the kind of energy that stops conversations and turns heads. It is the perfect blend of modern performance and old-school muscle car soul.

Inside the cockpit, the driver becomes part of the machine. The roar of the V8, the feel of the pavement, and the rush of acceleration create an experience that reminds you why people fall in love with Mustangs in the first place.

But Venom represents more than horsepower. It represents brotherhood, passion, individuality, and the spirit of the car community. It is about the late nights in the garage, the early mornings at car meets, the thumbs-up from strangers, and the memories created one mile at a time. Most importantly, it is a tribute to someone who helped inspire the dream behind it all.

THEY ARE WORKS OF ART...

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

When Steven’s father recently passed away, Steven received his father’s inheritance and decided that the best way to spend part of that money would be on a classic muscle car to pay homage to him. Steven’s father was a car enthusiast, so much so that there is an actual car design on his memorial plaque. “My father was a big influence on me. He loved muscle cars and speed.” When driving the car, the Coupe allows Steven the pleasure of reminiscing a time gone by. “Each time I drive this car, I feel like I am teleported back to 1968. Back to a simpler time.

I purchased the car four years ago in Eastern Ontario,” says Steven. “The car was built in San Jose, but sold at a dealership in Seattle. It was originally furnished with a 289 V8 with a C-4 automatic transmission, but it was given a new lease on life with a 302 V8 4V accompanied by an Edelbrock 600 Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) carburetor.” This was done during COVID by a gentleman by the name of Richard Theoret.” Steven expresses that he can feel the car just wanting to go. “I can feel the power in the car when it’s just idling. All the suspension has been updated, so it drives like a dream.” The car was originally factory-painted Acapulco Blue, but was repainted to Presidential Blue - a colour that can be visualized as something between shallow water and deep sea - another colour offered for the 1968 Mustang Coupe. Steven’s son helped with the restoration of the car since he will become the fortunate recipient of the Coupe one day.

Steven admits that it is an absolute pleasure to drive such an iconic car. “It is many people’s dream car, so it gets a lot of attention. Sometimes too much attention,” as he raises the proverbial eyebrow. “I’ve had a few close calls with people

focusing on my car instead of their driving.” When it comes to restoring a classic car, Steven suggests to find a car with “good bones.” Always check the frame. He warns to have a good, healthy budget and then double it! As for the future of classic cars? Steven nods adamantly. “I believe we need to keep the classic car community strong. Younger generations need to know that these cars were all hand-built. No computers, just hard work and determination. Aesthetically, these are some of the nicest cars ever built. They are works of art,” he concludes with admiration.

AN ESCAPE FROM REALITY LIKE WE ALL NEED FROM TIME TO TIME...

Was it a mid-life crisis? Nah, just Blue Crisis…

For my 50th birthday I decided it was time for a 5.0, an upgrade from my first Mustang which was a 2006 V6. It was fun but I wanted more. After a 558-mile round-trip, brought home was this beautiful 2011 Ford Mustang GT in Kona Blue. I was asked if I am going through a mid-life crisis simply because of this “upgrade”. I laughed and roared away. It was then that I decided to name this American powerhouse, “Blue Crisis.” Perfectly combined with the interior red leather seats with white racing stripes, this car was practically a rolling American flag.

My name is Bradley L. Nye, and I am a disabled US Army veteran and owner of Nye’s Blue Crisis. This Mustang has brought hours of fun and an escape from reality like we all need from time to time – freedom! I enjoy car cruises and will sometimes enter car shows. The engine dress up and mods were done over the extremely cold 2024 Midwest winter. God Bless America!

SOMETHING ABOUT THEM THAT STANDS OUT...

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I loved that car but acquir ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

My name is Jeffrey Bruining, and my 2018 Ford Mustang GT 5.0, “Ruby,” has been my dream car for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I always loved my dad’s, Bob Bruining, Mustang and ever since I was a kid I knew I wanted one of my own someday. This year, at 18 years old, I finally made it happen, and honestly, it still doesn’t feel real sometimes! The pictures were taken by my dad, which makes them mean even more to me.

What made me fall in love with Mustangs was the body style, the aggressive look, and especially the sound of the 5.0 V8. There’s just something about them that stands out from everything else on the road. Owning Ruby is something I’m really proud of because it’s been a goal of mine for years, and now I finally get to drive the car I always dreamed about having.

CLEAN, YET WILD THAT SET ITSELF ASIDE FROM EVERYTHING ELSE...

My name is Tommy Ricciardi and this is my 2017 Mustang GT. I bought my coyote in 2019 fully stock with intentions to build something clean, yet wild that set itself aside from everything else.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. This Mustang is N/A with a Lund 93 tune on Airtekk bags with Airlift 3P management, Shelby conversion fenders, and has a Cervinis 4” cowl hood on 20 inch staggered Variant wheels wrapped in MT street comps.

This car was fully modded by me. I did all the work to make it special with my own hands accept for body work and paint.

THE SEED WAS PLANTED...

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

My Mustang is a 2016 Competition Orange GT named Nemesis. She is a Recaro Packaged version, and according to her Marti Report, is a 1 of 130 built. The only upgrades done so far are a Magnaflow Muffled X-Pipe, Roush Cat Back Exhaust, Ford Performance Pack 2 tune and associated parts such a GT350 CAI, upgraded 87mm throttle body, and Ford Performance oil catch can. In addition, I have installed a GT strut bar on the front to improve cornering performance.

I was in the United States Air Force as a member of Security Police/Security Forces for more than 26 years, retiring as an MSgt in 2019. I got into Mustangs when I drove my first police car as a civilian cop was a 1987 LX 5.0, and the seed was planted. I would go on to own a 1996 GT with a laundry list of options before getting a 2007 Mustang GT, which has been featured in STANG Magazine before. The 2016 came into my possession after I found it at a training event in Feb 2025. The car had only about 60,000 miles on it and was well cared for. I purchased it without haggling as it was already a fair price.

I knew this car was a special find, as it had too many unique features that didn’t make sense until I looked at the window sticker and Marti Report and found that the original owner bought the car as a vehicle they could cruise the freeway in. They apparently believed in doing the fluids and servicing about every 2,000 miles, which helped keep the car in near-new condition. Nemesis has since become my daily driver when I am not driving my department-issued vehicle. My next planned modification will be to Whipple supercharge

her and freshen her paint. I love her independent rear suspension, and the Gen 2 Coyote motor is a blast to listen to and to put the accelerator to the floor. When she is not doing errands, I show her off at car shows, where she achieved a nearly perfect score in her division under MCA (Mustang Club of America) scoring (99 out of 100) and earned her first gold medal. I look forward to one day taking her to drive the “Tail of the Dragon” and Sabino Canyon down in Tucson, where the movie The Wraith was filmed.

I WAS HOOKED...

I am Scott Beck a Retired US ARMY Mechanic living in Dyer, Indiana. Ever since I was a kid I have been into Mustangs. My father and I have always wanted a 65-67 Mustang Fastback, but we were never able to get one. In high school, I drove a 1966 Chevrolet Caprice Classic with a 283. My brother bought a 1984 Mustang SVO in 1986 and I fell in love with the Mustangs after that. I always wanted a 5.0 but could never afford one.

The 2025 Mustang GT convertible caught my eye, and I started looking in June. Finally, I saw the white with bronze package and I was hooked. The modifications I made include adding a K&N Cold air intake, oil catch cans, and an American Modified grille. I blacked out the tail lights and side markers and added a styling bar. Now it’s time to drive! The car drives fantastic for a stock muscle car. Ford really did well on the setup of this Mustang.
