2026

Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! - Daniel Ramey, Editor-In-Chief

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquir ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

MAKES YOU WANT TO KEEP DRIVING...

This is my Roushcharged 2023 Mustang GT Premium. The supercharger obviously gives it a ton of power, but what I like most is how usable it is. It doesn’t feel wild or out of control, it just pulls hard when you get into it and then settles right back down. It’s quick, but it’s also something you can just get in and enjoy without overthinking it. It’s not about proving anything, it’s just a really solid, well-balanced car that makes you want to keep driving.

Cars in general have always been something I’m drawn to, especially the details most people don’t notice. That’s what got me into photography too. I like capturing how a car actually feels in a moment, not just making it look perfect. Sometimes it’s the way the light hits the paint, or how it sits in an empty lot, or even just a quick shot before taking off. It’s less about the car itself and more about the experience around it, and that’s what makes it fun.

SHE IS MY PRIDE AND JOY...

Hello, my name is Diana Courtney. I have loved Mustangs for a very long time. I have always wanted one but the cards never fell right for me to own one. I told my husband that I didn’t care how old I might be, but I will own one someday. My love for a Mustang just kept growing through the years.

Fast forward to the age of 56, I finally got my first Mustang. She’s a 2001 Mustang Convertible and when I bought her, she only had 113,000 miles on her. She is my pride and joy. She is my Lil Batty.

BEAUTY AND DELICACY...

My name is Mike Ortner and I own this 1991 Mustang GT nicknamed “Kona Fox.” This Mustang is a rotisserie in the color Kona Blue.

I have also called it the Kona “Blue” Kohana. Kohana in Japanese means little flower symbolizing beauty and delicacy but also a Sioux Native American name meaning swift or fast.

IT FEELS LIKE I AM ON TOP OF THE WORLD!

I call my 2011 Shelby GT500 Ghost! I always wanted a Mustang since I was in high school. This is my second Mustang. Back on the Shelby: purchased from the VP of FedEx, the vehicle was totaled and restored like new to me and I fell in love with it once I seen the garage open for a test drive.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I changed the look up a little and added the Carroll Shelby wheels and that put it on another level. I also had the words “Shelby” on each wheel hand painted black by my sister and have won three trophies at car shows. When I drive it, it feels like I am on top of the world!

It’s a good feeling knowing nobody in my household can drive a stick shift. Gear shifting is not for the weak! I must say it is a show car, not a race car. I always have someone wanting to race but I just like to style and profile. Once my son gets older I will suck it up and teach him how to start it up, but not drive it.

I HAVE WON A LOT OF TROPHIES WITH IT...

This is my car “Redsled.” I have had it for 51 years. I was 17 when I bought it. I went to school and worked every shift to pay for it. It made it through two years of high school.

It is all original with 46,000 original miles. It has a 351 Cobra Jet engine. I have won a lot of trophies with it. In 2009 it was in Mustang Monthly. It had 6,000 miles on when I bought it in 1975.

WALT - 2006 MUSTANG GT

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

DRIVING MY MUSTANG WHENEVER I CAN...

Here is my 2006 Mustang GT, otherwise known as “WALT.” I love the TV series “Breaking Bad” and the main character is Walter White which is one of my favorites, so I decided on calling my new Stang, Walt.

I’m a huge fan of the late 1960s Mustang. Ford created the fifth generation S197 retro version of the 1960s Mustang from 2005-2014 and it was then I said I need to have one of these.

I bought my 2006 Mustang GT 5 speed manual, completely stock in 2018 and started my build the following year. My build consists of a JLT cold air intake, BBR High Performance racing cams, Brisk racing plugs, Pypes long tube headers, Hi Flow cats, Off Road H pipe, Pypes axle back exhaust, Flowmaster Outlaw mufflers, Ford racing 4.10 gears in the rear and a performance tune. This summer, I plan on installing a Paxton 2200 supercharger.

The tires and rims were purchased from American Muscle with a staggered look, having larger tires in the rear and the rims resembling the old style Cragars from the 60s and 70s.

There’s nothing like sitting at a light listening to the loupe with your car rocking back-and-forth from your cams and then feeling the 4.10 gears launching you forward from 0 to 60 mph.

I enjoy going to weekly car shows, special event car shows for charity, and most of all, just driving my Mustang whenever I can as long as it’s not raining, of course!

WALT - 2005 MUSTANG

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

I LOVE ALL MUSTANGS BUT THERE IS NONE LIKE MINE...

My passion regarding Mustangs... I like to think there is some measure of “ancestral” guidance that got me into Mustangs in general. My mother had a 64 1/2 pretty early on but before I was born; I heard stories but what I think really hooked me was the fact that she used to race with her Mach 1 in 1971-2. Growing up in Southern Arizona, I was surrounded by New Edge and SN95s all over town; six to a stop light sequence on any given day. I got the feel early for what Fords feel like to ride in and own with our family Thunderbird and then 2005 happened. The first time seeing the S197; I was watching the North American Auto show in Detroit (on TV) and I saw Bill Ford roll out in that perfect Redfire Metallic production car and I made a vow to myself that that would be my car. Fast forward 16 years and two wars later the opportunity and mindset finally aligned and this ol gal found me.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. 17 miles to the shop at highway speeds with stoplights and never slipped a belt. My mechanic back then can attest to the weirdly sturdy nature of this beast. I love all Mustangs but there is none like mine.

I’d like you to meet Bullseye. This is my early 2005 4.0 6 cylinder and she saved my life both metaphorically and on a drive gone sideways. God bless the solid axle or I was Dukes of Hazzard 200 feet in the air. That told me everything I needed to know about who my Mustang was and we’ve been through it in the 5 years together. She’s never let me down even when the Harmonic Balancer pulley sheers itself off mid drive. Rode

MUSTANGS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN MY FAVORITE...

My name is Tom Ebert and my Mustang is a 2008 Roush 427R. It has a supercharged 4.6L with a smaller pulley and a tune.

Mustangs have always been my favorite American muscle car. It’s so enjoyable to put the top down on a beautiful day and take a long country cruise on a winding upstate New York road.

TODD BARROWMAN TIME WILL TELL - 2007 MUSTANG GT

CAR NAME–YEAR & MODEL INFO

IT HAS BEEN EXTENSIVELY MODIFIED...

My name is Todd Barrowman. I’m the owner of this 2007 Mustang GT Premium. The car just hit 22,000 miles! It has been extensively modified with the goal of a 350 whp naturally aspirated build.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

I started with the air induction equipping it with a JLT series 3 cold air intake and Ford Racing throttle body. Then I added Detroit Rocker cams paired with a set of Pypes longtube headers to help get the exhaust moving as well. A High flow catted h-pipe was then mounted to a Borla S series catback exhaust system. To help get the added power to the ground a complete suspension work-over was done. Parts from Roush, Steeda, and Ford Racing were utilized. The Ford Racing one piece drive shaft puts the power through a set of Ford Racing 3.73 gears.

With added power, I decided to upgrade the stock brakes to the 07-09 GT500 set up and even added Boss 302 brake lines. The larger calipers required a different fitment of wheels as well. A set of 19x9 front and 19x10.5 rear Weld Lagunas wrapped in Continental Extreme Sport 02 tires did the trick. Light weight wheels with tires that grip the pavement make this car launch hard and handle the corners with confidence. The pristine interior is stock with exception of an upgraded sound system and an MGW short throw shifter. I also added a GT500 rear spoiler, MMD front chin spoiler, and Tru Fiber rear splash guards.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. in Savoy, IL installed the wrap. Most of the mechanical work was done at my place of employment. I’m the performance division manager at Champaign Ford City in Champaign, IL. I installed the sound system myself as I wanted to insure the interior was not harmed during the install. A new head unit from Pioneer along with Pioneer 8” door subwoofers were added along with 4 Kicker 6 x 8s in the upper doors and rear package tray. A 10” powered subwoofer from Rockford Fosgate in the trunk completes the low end of the system.

This car is 1 of 1 with the trim and options like the factory spoiler delete. Currently I’m at the crossroads of either selling the car or going further with the build by adding a supercharger and cowl induction hood. Time will tell!

Cosmetically the car is the stock color, Tungsten Gray with a custom wrap two-tone look. 3M high gloss black vinyl with a subtle red accent stripe really sets the car off. The color combo not only makes the car appear lower but it ties in with the red calipers and the Weld center caps. Midwest Autoskins

STILL IN LOVE WITH HER FIRST MUSTANG...

I spent the first 16 years of my life on a Motor Speedway that my father owned. I was raised on muscle cars, engines roaring, and speed. Every year the local dealership would provide our pace car, which was always a convertible. That started my love for convertibles.

In 2015, I purchased my first Mustang. I named him Bruno and he is a 2014 V6 convertible. It was love at first sight. He was black inside and out. I needed to make him a reflection of my personality. Therefore, I made the following modifications: 22” low pro tires with powder coated rims in red, red calipers and red vinyl striping. Under the hood: K & N cold air intake, BAMA tuned producing 320 hp, strut bar, red carbon fiber hydrodipped components, pinstriping and all chrome removable pieces. Interior: changed cloth upholstery to black and red leather, red piping on the dash and doors, red under the dash floor lights, and Luxor custom floor mats.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. Bruno and I have been in countless parades and we have had our 15 minutes of fame on television. And by the way, I am a 65-year-old woman that is still in love with her first Mustang.
