Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

My mustang passion started as a kid watching these beautiful machines fly up and down the streets of my neighborhood. I was hooked ever since.

Now it’s been a great way to show and teach my children how to work around engines and updating cars.

This is my 1989 Mustang GT Convertible, aka the “BLUJACKL” and it is my favorite car out of every car I have ever owned in my lifetime.

I HAVE HAD SEVERAL MUSTANGS IN MY LIFETIME AND ENJOY DRIVING AND BUILDING THEM.

My Mustang is a 2011 GT California Special. The 2011 GT/CS was the first year for the Coyote engine with 412HP. The California Special came with a special rear spoiler, special front and reset diffusers, fog lights were moved into the diffuser, side scoops, 19” special wheels, special front grille, black lettering on the side of the car, the 5.0 badge was removed, on the inside the center of the seats and door panels had carbon fiber inserts, and carbon fiber on the dash with the GT/CS logo.

Here are some stats that are confirmed by the Marti report. It is 1 of 97 Grabber Blue convertibles produced (mine is #60) and it is 1 of 1 produced with these exact option on the car.

Mods include Black Shelby rims, wrap on hood and rear spoiler, carbon fiber styling bar with brake light and interior light, carbon fiber wrapped top cover with California Special embroidered logo, carbon fiber wrapped shifter, carbon fiber e-brake boot, drilled/slotted rotors, red calipers, and Ford Blue coil covers.

I do realize my car does not have the mods like most Mustangs. My goal is to do mods that can be changed back easily

if someone wanted to restore it later on down the line. This is my daily driver/weekend show car. I have had several Mustangs in my lifetime and enjoy driving and building them.

MY DAUGHTER AND I LOVE TO SHOW IT OFF AT CAR SHOWS AND CRUISE NIGHTS.

This is my 2004 Ford Mustang V6 and I am the second owner. It came from Missouri. Some modifications I added were a dual exhaust, new door panels and new carpet along with new front and rear bullet seats, and installed cold air intake and installed 3.73 gears with a locker.

I bought the car in late 2018 and in 2019 joined the Mustang Club of Great Kansas City. My daughter and I love to show it off at car shows and cruise nights.

I NOW OWNED A PIECE OF HISTORY...

My passion began when I was younger in the early 2000s. A friend of mine had an older cousin who owned a Sonic Blue 2003 SVT Terminator. Going for a ride, at only 13 years old, in this first of its kind factory forced induction SVT Cobra was more than exhilarating! I knew one day I had to have one. It was destiny.

Fast forward to 2011, I located a 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra of my own with only 18,000 miles at a used dealer located in Medford, NY. As soon as I saw it, I called and inquired about it. In the same day of test driving it I left a deposit and soon later picked it up. At 22 years old, I now owned a piece of history, at a great price, and in excellent condition.

I now have owned her just shy of 13 years myself and it’s been a great car to me. It is a 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra in Zinc Yellow and current mileage is only 27,000 miles. Mods include a 2.9 SC pulley, Bassani catback exhaust, CAI, and tune by Real Speed located in Bohemia, NY.

This is my 2010 Mustang S197 4.0 V6 5 speed manual, nicknamed “Hog Rider.” I love my Mustang for its timeless design and powerful performance. The sleek, muscular exterior and iconic Mustang grille make every drive a statement, turning heads wherever I go. The throaty roar of the V6 engine provides an exhilarating soundtrack to my journey, delivering a thrilling driving experience that’s hard to match. Its responsive handling and agile maneuverability make every twist and turn on the road a joy, creating a connection between driver and machine that’s truly unmatched. My 2010 Mustang isn’t just a car; it’s a symbol of American automotive history and a source of pure driving pleasure.

2022 MUSTANGS

AS A FAMILY WE HAVE OWNED SEVERAL MUSTANGS OVER THE YEARS.

These are the Mahan Mustangs. This is “Green Ghost” - a 1998 Ford Mustang V6, automatic, driven by Abigail Mahan, “Blue Goblin” - a 2009 Ford Mustang GT, manual, driven by Drew Mahan, and “Twinkie” - a 2022 Ford Mustang GT California Special, automatic, driven by Jennifer Mahan.

As a family we have owned several Mustangs over the years. When it was time for our youngest daughter (Abigail) to start driving we set off to find the car of her choice – a Mustang. The caveat was that it could not be new and it needed to have work to make it her own. We found a green 1998 non-running Mustang that Abigail quickly named Green Ghost. Drew and Abigail spent many hours in the garage working on Green Ghost. It needed all new hoses, brakes, suspension, transmission, interior seats, radio and some body work. Green Ghost is not the prettiest Mustang but Abigail says “Who cares – it’s a Mustang. I’m going to drive it.”

As Drew and Abigail worked on Green Ghost, Jennifer became tired of driving her husband’s Mach-E and wanted a Mustang of her own. After driving several Mustangs at the local Ford dealer, Jennifer saw a black Mustang that did not look like the rest. Once she heard it start, she knew that the 2022 Mustang GT California Special was coming home with her. She was immediately named Twinkie as she was a “twin” to her husband’s black Mach-E GT.

Since both his daughter and his wife now had Mustangs and he had since traded in his Mach-E GT for a Lightning, Drew felt left out. After several months scouring sales ads

and driving all over Texas, the perfect Mustang was found. After a drive to Austin to pick up Blue Goblin (2009 Mustang GT) it was quickly realized she might not make the two hour drive home. Once home, Abigail and Drew got to work. After suspension, engine, and wheel work, she was ready for the road.

Our love of vehicles, especially our love of Mustangs, has allowed for great father/daughter bonding time as we have worked to make our Mustangs ready and have allowed for family bonding time as we take Twinkie to local car shows.

THIS ROUSH IS THE ONLY ONE ON THIS EARTH WITH ITS SPECIFIC TRIM.

This is my first muscle car and this beast is on steroids. It’s a 2012 Roush Mustang, but not just any Mustang. She is a true one of one car.

That’s right, this Roush is the only one on this earth with its specific trim. Roush modified 700 or so Mustangs that year and only 16 cars were automatics. Of those 16, only one was Performance White with Red Blooded American graphics and a Sin City Silver accent.

I haven’t nicknamed her yet though. She only has 50,000 miles on it. She is my daily driver.

THE DEATH STAR SHIFTER KNOB FROM ETSY ADDS A TOUCH OF FUN.

Purchased as a retirement present from me to me, ROYS CS is a 2007 GT/CS which was nearly stock except for Eibach springs, a Roush spoiler, and a Hurst short throw shifter. Mileage was 5,310 and is currently 11,300.

After purchasing it, I swapped out the Eibachs for some Ford Motorsports P springs for a smoother ride and added KYB shocks and struts with American Muscle 19” staggered rims wrapped in Sumitomo HTR Z III tires, 245/45 up front with 275/40 out back to round out the suspension.

Under the hood is mostly stock except for a JLT CAI with a SCT tune and chrome fluid caps for appearance, with some owner created under hood artwork for uniqueness. Audio is handled by a Kenwood 9903s head unit, with Rockford Fosgate 6”x 8” speakers all around. A 10” powered Rockford Fosgate subwoofer is in the trunk and 8” Kicker subs running off the stock amps provide for some thump. A backup camera and a 2010 steering wheel with audio, phone and cruise controls finish the entertainment system. And yes, all buttons work. The Death Star shifter knob from Etsy adds a touch of fun.

AFTER BUYING MY MUSTANG I SHORTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH FORDS IN GENERAL.

This is my 2004 Mustang GT nicknamed Stacey. I first got the car in 2017. I had always had a love for cars from a young age because of my dad and papaw who loved Chevy. But the New Edge body style just stood out unlike any other. After buying my Mustang I shortly fell in love with Fords in general.

My original plan was to preserve the car in all its stock glory. But eventually I decided to change it up and begin doing cosmetic modifications such as LEDs, side marker lights by Striker Lights, SR Performance lowering springs, Avid AV06 wheels, as well as Power Stick mufflers.

I’m currently working on swapping in a manual transmission then building the motor for boost.

THIS BUILD IS DEDICATED TO HIM.

Mustangs have always been a part of my family. Once the opportunity to have one came I knew that’s what I wanted. I have had this Mustang since I was 16 and I’m 27 now.

I’ve built it once and now it’s on its second build. My grandfather is who brought me passion through cars and I have a lot of memories of him through this car. Unfortunately he passed two years ago so this build is dedicated to him.

I also met my first love in this car. We were high school sweethearts and now we’re engaged. It’s been through it all with me.

Mods list includes a Trufiber fiber glass hood, Terminator front bumper, Aero kit, and XXRS staggered 10 in rear with 8.5 in front. I also have many more mods that are about to be on the car.
