Making a gift with your Bequest A legacy of Truth, Excellence and Faith for the future

A gift in your Will to St Andrew’s College is a gift to creating confident, articulate, compassionate, caring and creative young people of energy and integrity, for generations. A gift in your Will for education is one of the most powerful ways to support and shape the future, whether large or small, your gift will impact the lives of young people and open doors to opportunity for generations to come. The generous philanthropy of our St Andrew’s College community, combined with vision, passion and wise stewardship, has sustained our students for the past 100 years, and is what enables us to step forward confidently into the next 100 years, continuing to nurture our dynamic young community of learners.

can do so much.

Creating a gift in your Will for St Andrew’s College gives you the opportunity to envision and realise the future with us – what part will you play in empowering St Andrew’s sons and daughters of tomorrow?

The tapestry that is St Andrew’s College has been woven for 100 years, and I am proud to have added my thread to it. I offer my thanks to all who have gone before us, and those who will come after.” Emma Williams, Deputy Head Girl 2016

The gift of education is a gift for life A Will is a promise to the future, it enables you provide care and support for loved ones beyond your lifetime, and also gives you the opportunity to create a personal legacy to causes close to your heart. Education is, perhaps, one of the most profound legacies we can create: it helps shape the lives not only of individuals but all of the communities their lives will touch.

You can inspire and support future generations in ways you never knew were possible.

Walking together, one generation after another, we make St Andrew’s College the school it is. A history of success, a future of opportunities.” Christine Leighton, Rector

I already have a Will If you already have a Will and would like to update it to include a bequest to St Andrew’s College, this is a simple matter of asking your legal advisor to include a new clause, for which we can provide the appropriate wording.

Your gift,

your choice

THERE ARE A VARIETY OF WAYS IN WHICH YOU CAN CHOOSE TO SUPPORT THE COLLEGE:

STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES Rewarding and recognising talented students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend St Andrew’s College. ST ANDREW’S COLLEGE FOUNDATION

ENDOWMENT FUND

The Endowment Fund gives discretion to the College to direct your gift to priority programmes and areas of highest need. This is a continually growing invested fund, where only the interest is expended. This means, however large or small your bequest, you will contribute to the education of St Andrew’s students well into the future.

CREATING A NAMED ENDOWMENT The opportunity to support an area you are passionate about in perpetuity, while also creating a memorial.

Once you have chosen the area you would most like to support, there are different methods for making your gift:

• • • • •

a percentage of your estate; a specified amount or asset (real estate, stocks, shares, collectibles, etc.); a residual bequest: part or all of the remaining estate, after other beneficiaries have been provided for; a contingent bequest: naming St Andrew’s College as an alternative beneficiary in the event another beneficiary is not able to receive their inheritance; an in vivo gift: part or all of your bequest is given during your lifetime, allowing you to witness the impact of your support.

Benefits of making a gift in your Will:

• • • •

the opportunity to make a difference to a cause important to you; fulfilment of personal philanthropic goals while still having the use of your assets; the opportunity to honour someone special in a meaningful way; the opportunity to create something extraordinary.
