back to school and pursue a solid career. I was checked out. I had no faith, no life plan, and no band anymore. I took a leap and moved to Washington D.C. to finish my degree at American University. After finishing my education and working my first office job, the novelty of the city wore off. I decided to return to Newport Beach and moved into a place close to the church. When I returned, it was an easy decision to come back to St. Andrew’s. For me, it’s about the history here, both of the church and my family. Everything started for me here. My roots were placed at St. Andrew’s as a child. It felt like home and I was reunited with Jesus here. Our church is like a family—everyone is available whether it be pastors, staff, or members to support and love one another. In this family, there are multiple generations. We learn from each other, gain knowledge and wisdom across each generation, and share our perspectives easily. The community here has also supported me as I started a career as an interior designer. Since my return to Newport Beach and St. Andrew’s, I have been involved in our High School Ministry, leading Alpha, Tecate Mission Trips, Small Groups, Young Adults Ministry, Men’s Ministry, and then next thing I know, I’m on the Pastor Nominating Committee. Working in High School Ministry was easily the most transformational experience I have had here. It did as much for me as it did for the kids. Life at St. Andrew’s is always an adventure, and I look forward to the next 75 years. I hope St. Andrew’s grows, not just in numbers, but in people’s relationships with Christ. I hope we continue to empower our members and staff to serve our community and God’s kingdom. T A B L E // 2 0 2 2 S U M M E R I S S U E
