Be a Chorister for a day | Cathedral Girls Choir

Saturday 29 January, 1pm A chance for girls ages 7 - 9 to sing alongside girl choristers, and to learn about the work of the Cathedral’s Choirs. Advance registration required. A similar event for boys will take place later in the year.

Handel Coronation Anthems

Saturday 12 February, 7.30pm The Sixteen Choir & Orchestra One of Handel’s first tasks as a naturalised British Citizen was to write the music for the Coronation of the new monarch, King George II. The result was four majestic anthems, perfectly capturing the pomp and grandeur of the occasion, and a celebration of baroque at its grandest, its most opulent and its most glorious. Lea Singers 60th Anniversary Concert

The jewel in the crown of Russian Orthodox sacred choral music, Rachmaninov’s Vespers stands as one of the greatest works ever written for unaccompanied voices. The Lea Singers add evocative poetry appropriate to the times of day at which the Vespers movements would have been sung. Joint Schools’ Choral Society
