THE STORY OF STALA
Stalan tarina sai alkunsa Lahdessa vuonna 1972. Kaikki alkoi tavoitteesta suunnitella täydellinen työtaso. Vuosien varrella tästä ajatuksesta kehittyi menestyksekäs yritys, jonka ytimessä ovat moderni muotoilu ja laadukkaat materiaalit. Osaamisemme ydin on kyvyssä yhdistää ruostumaton teräs, skandinaavinen muotoilu sekä ymmärrys elämästä. Muotoilu, toimivuus ja laatu ohjaavat toimintaamme. Vuonna 2019 Stala kehitti uuden laserteknologian, StalaTexin. Tämä teknologia mahdollistaa ruostumattoman teräksen aivan uudenlaisen kuvioinnin. Ruostumattoman teräksen uusi aikakausi on koittanut.
Stala’s story began in the city of Lahti in 1972. The idea was simple: to design the perfect kitchen worktop. During the years, the idea grew into a business where high quality design and materials permeate everything we do. The core of Stala´s expertise is the ability to unify the benefits of stainless steel, Scandinavian design and the understanding of everyday life. Design, functionality and quality are the guiding principles. In 2019 Stala invented a new laser method, called StalaTex. This technology enables new ways to pattern stainless steel, lifting the material to a new era.

StalaTex tuo teräkseen pehmeyttä. Laserkuvioidut, ruostumattomasta teräksestä valmistetut tuotteemme on suunniteltu kestämään elämää. StalaTex -kuosit eivät kulu tai haalistu kovassakaan käytössä ja ne häivyttävät lisäksi naarmujen ja tahrojen erottuvuutta tasopinnoista. Stala antaa mielikuvitukselle siivet työtasojen lisäksi monenlaisiin käyttökohteisiin. Laajasta kuosivalikoimasta löytyy varmasti sopiva vaihtoehto jokaiseen ympäristöön. Gert Wingårdh on toiminut arkkitehtinä yli 40 vuotta. Vuonna 1977 hän perusti Wingårdh Architects arkkitehtiyrityksen, josta on vuosien varrella kasvanut yksi Ruotsin merkittävimmistä arkkitehtitoimistoista. Toimiston laadukkaat hankkeet ovat ansainneet lukuisia kunnianosoituksia ja palkintoja sekä Ruotsissa että maailmalla. Gert Wingårdh on ainoa arkkitehti, joka on saanut arvostetun Kasper Salin palkinnon viidesti. Arlandan lennonjohtokeskus, Universeum tiedekeskus Göteborgissa sekä Ruotsin suurlähetystöt Berliinissä ja Washingtonissa ovat kaikki hänen käsialaansa. Vuonna 1999 Wingårdh nimitettiin Chalmersin teknillisen korkeakoulun kunniatohtoriksi. Lisäksi hän toimii asiantuntijaroolissa huippusuositussa ruotsalaisessa Unelmakoti ohjelmassa.
Gert Wingårdh has been active as an architect for over 40 years. In 1977, he founded Wingårdh Architects, which over the years has become one of Sweden’s most prominent architecture firms. The quality of the office’s large production has generated many prizes and awards both in Sweden and internationally. Gert Wingårdh is the only architect to have been awarded the prestigious Kasper Salin Prize five times. The air traffic control tower at Arlanda, Universeum in Gothenburg and the Swedish embassies in Berlin and Washington are some of the buildings that bear his signature. In 1999, he was appointed honorary doctorate at Chalmers University of Technology. He also participates as an architecture expert in Swedish Television’s show Husdrömmar.
Gert Wingårdh on aina tehnyt suunnittelutyönsä ensisijaisesti käsin. Äkillisen inspiraation iskiessä hän saattaa luonnostella ideansa lautasliinaan tai paperinpalalle. Stalalle tehdyn malliston suunnitteluprosessi ei ollut poikkeus. Trace mallistossaan Wingårdh syventyi luomisprosessin ytimeen, eli siihen hetkeen, jona ajatus muovautuu viivaksi. Erilaisten kynien, musteiden ja pensseleiden avulla Wingårdh antaa viivojen ja roiskeiden virrata eri suuntiin erilaisilla voimakkuuksilla. Lopputuloksena syntyi seitsemän kuosia, joita voisi kuvailla käsin piirretyiksi ajatusten häivähdyksiksi. Trace mallisto on kuin ikkuna arkkitehti Gert Wingårdhin mieleen.
Now as then, the hand and pen are Gert Wingårdh’s primary tools. A fleeting thought must swiftly be able to turn into a sketch on a napkin or a piece of paper. The work with the pattern collection for Stala is no exception. With Trace, Wingårdh explores the innermost essence of the creative process; the moment when a thought becomes a line. With an arsenal of pencils, inks and brushes, Wingårdh lets dashes and splashes flow in different directions and densities. The result is seven patterns, most easily described as hand-drawn traces of thoughts. Trace is, thus, a portal straight into the mind of architect Gert Wingårdh.
