AN EDUCATION TAILORED TO BOYS

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Saint Thomas Academy, welcome! We are grateful you have chosen the Academy to play a critical role in your son’s formation as a young man of character. This is the beginning of an exciting journey full of opportunities, challenges, and the discovery of life-long friendships. We are committed to supporting your son with his academic rigor, spiritual growth, and forming his character. As a proud alumni myself, our team looks forward to accompanying your family on this journey.

AUGUST 15-16
The freshman retreat is a special opportunity for students to get to know one another, form friendships, and feel welcomed into the Saint Thomas Academy culture and community. During the retreat, freshmen learn about the STA pillars and values, meet upperclassmen leaders and faculty, and build a strong foundation for their high school journey. It’s an experience that creates lasting connections and great memories.
Saturday, August 15 (depart at 9 a.m.)Sunday, August 16 (return at 11:30 a.m.)

Bridge to STA is a highly recommended experience for new Saint Thomas Academy boys designed to foster a sense of belonging and confidence before the school year begins. We believe that a successful transition starts and ends with relationships, so our primary focus is helping boys form early connections with their peers while becoming familiar with the facilities and the rules of the Academy. While we introduce essential strategies for organization and planning using materials from upcoming math, theology, and science courses, we recognize that these habits are built over time as we figure out what works best for each individual.
This updated program also emphasizes character and wellness by exploring themes of integrity, technology responsibility, and practical ways to manage schoolrelated stress and test anxiety. To prepare for these sessions, students are required to read one of their summer reading books prior to the start of the course. Our ultimate goal is to ensure every young man feels connected, prepared, and truly excited to start his journey at the Academy.

Rather than a one-size-fits all approach, our expert faculty will encourage your son to pursue his own interests, and discover who he truly is through our curriculum, elective courses, co-curricular activities and individual learning time provided by our unique daily Flex period. Our small class sizes ensure he gets the attention he needs to succeed academically while exploring his unique interests.
