A New Year and a new What's New From the Crew @ Stable View Newsletter Editor. Stable View’s previous editor, Emma Young, has moved on to become a successful Realtor—we all wish her success in her new endeavor.

New Emma [Rogers] has now arrived, and she will be taking over as Editor of Stable View's monthly newsletter.

Increasingly, the newsletter's contents include non-equestrian activities. With increased use of the Trails, Healing Arts, Environmental projects, and with Stable View's Eco Tours business on the horizon, there's a lot of diversification going on here.

The Bistro, too, should not be forgotten, as we go into the New Year with a new menu.

Additionally, in the next couple of weeks we’ll be making an announcement of an upcoming project that will elevate Stable View’s brand recognition to a whole new level—please watch this space.

Coming into the New Year, we understand that these are tough financial times for some of our clients. As a result, we have decided against increasing prices on January 1st. However, we will be making some adjustments on 1st June; but we hope this delay will be helpful.

Otherwise, the level of activity is good here, and our diversification plans are working. As we often say, you don't cover your daily overhead with no one using the facility (the daily overhead is around $8,000). As prices continue to rise, Stable View experienced several notable increases in costs last year for Insurance, Fertilizer, Remuneration, Gas, and Maintenance.

Nonetheless, with ongoing reinvestment at Stable View, sustainability and eco-conscious behavior is a top priority in relation to both the SV Business, as well as the back 800 acres of conservation land.

RIDER SPOTLIGHT: AUBREY EISENMAN

I had the chance to sit down and interview one of Stable View’s Winter boarders, Aubrey Eisenman, who has played a key role in the creation of Stable View’s Bluegrass Festival(s).

Raised by an Equestrian (Mom) and a Musician (Dad), Aubrey was thrown straight into equestrian life, getting her first pony at only 5.

However, when Aubrey wasn’t at her barn, she’d be at home with her Dad in his recording studio. Aubrey states, “I didn’t actually start writing music until my twenties, but I grew up around that

environment and my Dad really immersed me into it and I’d listen to his recordings and other artists down there recording”. Aubrey also states that while she doesn’t write much these days, throughout her twenties and thirties she wrote a “few hundred songs, and several records”.

These days, life for Aubrey is rather busy.

Between equestrian training, performing with her band Aubrey and the Clydes, spending time with her family and raising her kids, it’s astounding that Aubrey had the time and energy to help Stable View organize the first ever Aiken Bluegrass Festival in 2025. When talking with Aubrey, I asked about how she manages to find balance in her busy life, to which she told me “Not always gracefully, I forget where my keys are a lot of the time, and I can be super forgetful of everything but the things that are right in front of me. It’s tough but I actually like to have more on my plate — the more on my plate, the better I

tend to function.” She goes on to say “I like to stay busy, and the music is my passion — the horses are also my passion, but it’s also my career”.

For Aubrey, owning and operating her boarding facility is her “meat and potatoes”, as she calls it, but the music is “more of a family centered thing” for her. Aubrey says, “the music is something I can involve my children in, like a Bluegrass you can catch them running around on Cross Country, and I actually play with my Husband, he’s in the band”. Aubrey states, “it was nice to find something that I can do with him, because he’s not involved with the horse stuff”.

Overall, Aubrey states that the key to striking a balance in life is: “ALL ABOUT OPTIMIZATION AND MAKING SURE YOU’RE USING YOUR TIME WELL.”

If there’s one thing I took away from my interview with Aubrey, it’s that she is consistently focused on growth and improvement. This was made all-the-more evident in Aubrey’s response to my question “what do you love most about riding horses?”, to which Aubrey said “I love that there’s no ceiling, you can always get better, you can always learn more, there’s endless knowledge to acquire.

If you’re doing it right you’re always learning — you’re a student of the sport until you die or quit — but I love the challenge. Everyday I wake up and there’s something challenging. I think if you’re always pushing, and always striving, and trying to learn, I think the ceiling is just endless, and I love that”.

When it comes to Stable View, Aubrey stated that after several years of boarding over the winter “I think this is where you come to up your training game. I don’t come from that far north, but I know some people travel from way up north; we have some Canadian neighbors in our winter stabling right now. But I think I’d still come

up here if we lived in Florida because there is so much to do in the

way of fitness, in the way of schooling, you don’t have to go anywhere. Like this morning, we went out on a half-hour hack on the trails, and then we had some horses schooling Cross Country, so it’s just all here”. Aubrey goes on to say, “the second piece of it is the community here is awesome. We have potlucks every Monday night for the winter boarders, and it’s just a really sweet community of supportive riders and people. Yeah, it’s just a top-notch facility”.

Stable View Partnerships: GGT Footing

GGT-Footing is incredibly important in ensuring the safety of both horses and riders as they train, practice, and compete at Stable View.

The story of GGT Footing is one of ingenuity and sustainability. 26 years ago, a German textile factory contacted GGT-Footing, looking for a way to discard excess material that they would normally pay to get rid of. While GGT-Footing was already working with several Arenas to produce Footing using carpet and other materials, when the German factories excess fiber material was chopped up and combined with other geotextiles, they found they’d produced their best Footing yet—and “a new company and new business was formed”.

As the GGT-Footing business grew, the company expanded from Europe to the United States, opening up a plant 17 years ago. In the present day, Polysols Inc., the parent company of GGT-Footing is headquartered in our own state of South Carolina, in Spartanburg.

Currently, GGT-Footing has 4 unique blends available: Dressage, Jumper, Competition, and Geo, as well as the option to create a custom blend based on your unique needs. When speaking to Cynthia Keating from GGT-Footing, I asked her about how GGTFooting tailors each blend to align with the needs of a specific discipline, she explained “Each discipline requires variant degrees of firmness or tightness or rebound energy. Pleasure riders like a little

softer footing in our high-end jumper riders usually like what’s

called a little tighter and firmer footing”. From there, Cynthia explained that GGT-Footing adjusts “the amount of fiber mixed in with the textiles to create the appropriate blend to be mixed in with a high-performance silica Sand”. Then, Cynthia states “the Sand and its characteristics will determine which blend is appropriate or whether or not more Geo or more Fiber is necessary to accomplish the proper surface”. It’s quite a specialized curation process!

With so much attention put into the details when creating each unique Footingblend, one can’t help but wonder how GGTFooting plans to top their existing blends. I asked Cynthia, “does GGT-Footing have any exciting projects in the works?”, to which she told me that there’s a new and exciting project underway with GGT-Footing and Attwood Equestrian to develop a GGT-Footing Textile water-free option.

According to Cynthia, “this can be bought directly from Attwood and shipped to you in super sacks and put out on your laser graded and

ready to go Arena!”.

The future of GGT-Footing, Cynthia explains, is providing customers with the option to purchase GGT-Footing from sand quarries across the country “that offer pre-blended material with our textiles, so you don’t have to research where to get the sand how much sand, etc.”. It’s safe to say there is a lot to look forward to with GGTFooting.

Battle of the Run Clubs 2026

The Aiken Trails Club is thrilled to be launching the inaugural Battle of the Run Clubs on Saturday, January 24.

designed to unite both formal clubs and “clubs” to promote healthy competition, as well as give an opportunity for clubs to gather, share information, and above all, have fun!

Created by Trails Club Member Sarah Hansel, who was inspired while watching the World Mountain Championships over the last several years; Sarah states “seeing teams from all over the world run over a variety of different distances has always looked like so much fun to me. I've also always thought that an adult/amateur cross-country league would be fun and we are really lacking something like that in the CSRA, so I tried to create something that was sort of a combination of the two, but at a scale that was inviting to all levels of runners”.

Sarah began her running journey back in 2011 “while doing a stint galloping racehorse in Australia”, stating that she wanted to see as much of the countryside as she could, and “walking wasn’t quite cutting it”.

When asked what makes Stable View a good spot for cross-country

races, Sarah says that “Stable View is a great facility for XC style races because they have so many wide, runnable trails and a fantastic pre-and post-race set up at the Pavilion, where spectators and runners can stay warm and well fed throughout the event”.

For Battle of the Run Clubs, rather than receiving medals at the finish, the winning team will have their team’s name engraved on the perpetual cup, in addition to receiving miniature trophies to take home. Second and Third place teams will also receive awards.

Once awards have concluded, all competitors are invited to the postrace Graze and Gaze with hot food; giving all attendees the opportunity to mingle, eat, and express bragging rights!

Stable View Spotlight: Claudia Neuburg Claudia Neuburg is a new addition at Stable View, starting her position as head of Human Resources in October of 2025. Born in Los Angeles, Claudia spent much of her life living and working in California, until moving to Texas in 2004.

Throughout Claudia’s career, she’s had the opportunity to gain a diverse range of experience working in private, public, and government agencies, “mostly at an administrative capacity”, Claudia states. Throughout Claudia’s over 20-year career, she’s lived all across the United States, “I’ve had the opportunity to live and work in California, Texas, South Carolina and Georgia”. Claudia states that “her journey has led her to Stable View”.

When asked if she had any experience with horses, Claudia stated that although she doesn’t have any experience with horses on a personal level, she “enjoys the beauty and grace of the animal”, which is a sentiment I think we can all agree with!

Although Claudia prefers to admire horses, there is no shortage of animals in her life, recently adopting two kittens named Stella and Cosmo.

Throughout her life, Claudia has owned dogs, cats, rabbits, tarantulas, and lizards so it’s safe to say that Claudia has more than earned her “animal lover” badge.

When asked about what Claudia enjoys the most about Stable View, she stated, “the excitement, energy, creativity and innovation; I’m amazed at the variety of on-going projects (both current and future)” and “the facility and grounds are beautiful, well-kept and maintained”.

However, Claudia highlighted her favorite part of Stable View as being the people who make Stable View, Stable View, saying “the most incredible part of Stable View are the individuals that work here and outstanding opportunities to learn and share with others”.
