Every month, I seem to start this introduction saying that there's a lot going on at Stable View. Well, here's this month's list. We have started a new format for this newsletter. It is designed for an easier read and flow of articles. We hope you enjoy it. We've received three of five Tiny Homes we've ordered. These Tiny Homes will sleep six and are genuinely minimalist. They have outdoor and indoor seating for six and tiny kitchenettes and bathrooms. But, having said that, who needs more when you're here to train, compete or just ride? We're hoping that they will be ready for use in June.
The Grounds Crew is getting some more white K Trucks. You'll see these travelling around Stable View. This will bring our fleet to ten. Subject to tariffs, in July, we should be taking delivery of a 20' X 15' mobile Jumbotron. It's being purchased to keep visitors up to date with streaming, results, forthcoming events, and sponsor messages.
Rider Spotlight: Valerie Cheatham
Valerie Cheatham is a frequent dressage competitor at Stable View. Valerie began riding at age nine after she saved all of her allowance for riding lessons. At only her second lesson she accidentally steered her horse over a jump and fell off. She didn’t let that discourage her from the sport, and by age eleven, she was cleaning stalls for a chance to ride. It was ten years later that she became hooked on dressage. Valerie shared, “My farrier had a Hannovarian and gave dressage
Nashville. None of them ran 2 arenas.. or had such great food prepared on site!” She recently got a new horse named “Teddy” Mercurio. She searched for her new unicorn in Oregon, Massachusetts, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and the Netherlands. She finally found him in Tennessee. Exactly five weeks after she got him, the combination came to Stable View’s April “Spring Fever” show and got a qualifying score at 3rd level. Valerie shared, “We hope to show again soon. When we're not taking lessons with Brittany Jameson, we love trail riding and learning the obstacles in Working Equitation. My half Arab mare went to Landrum 2 weeks ago for our 1st WE schooling show. It's fun, but not easy!” In addition to riding, she attends dog agility classes. She has an eighteen-month-old, twelve-pound Mexican Xoloitzcuintli who loves to run. Maybe the combination will compete at the UKC All Breed Dog Show at Stable View next April? Regardless, Stable View looks forward to welcoming Valerie and Freddy back to Stable View.
In regards to the new sponsorship Wayne shared, “We just began our partnership with Stable View earlier this year and we are excited about the opportunity that it brings. We serve the same community and felt like it made perfect sense to partner with them. In addition to being part of the community for 88 years, we operate with a high standard of integrity. We truly believe in being transparent and honest with our customers. We are interested in long-term sales and service relationships with our customers, not one-time interactions.” Stable View looks forward to the continued sponsorship with Master Chevrolet. Intercollegiate Corner: 2025 Championship Recap
Throughout the USEA Intercollegiate and Interscholastic weekend, Stable View was full of vibrant blues, reds, oranges, yellows, purples, and greens. School chants could be heard from across the property. Golf carts were decked out in flags, pom poms, and even inflatables. Team members could be found cheering on their teammates, wearing face paint, hats, carrying flags, and even joined by their school mascot in some cases.
The Interscholastic and Intercollegiate teams all gave it their
best effort for the coveted spirit contests. The college fair, the decorated stables, the multi-phase hobby horse contest, Cross Country Jump Decorations, and overall team spirit all played a role in the contest.
