By the time of the next Eventing Academy, most of the brown created by dying Bahia Grass will have disappeared leaving behind the original Coastal Bermuda. Bahia Grass is very invasive and can entirely take over from the Bermuda Grass we planted. During its growing season, Bermuda creates a significantly better cushion for horse hooves - reduces percussion - and we believe, looks better.

Other areas that at present look a bit rough are the small Connector joining the Eventing Academy Course to the Old Cross Country Course. This will be sprigged on Monday and should be ready for use during Oktoberfest. If you have time, also take a look at a much larger area to be sprigged by the Pavilion.

You will also notice that we’ve erected an additional 100 Stalls.

Apart from an improved lighting system, these are the same as the original Stalls we built last year. Our final improvement along Springfield Church Road will be to add a Rider Lounge which will be positioned in between Barns A-E and F-J. This Lounge will be used during events and will provide snacks, coffee, toilets, showers, a washing machine and dryer.

This will we believe assist in the creation of a Rider community for those staying overnight or longer.

One area of Stable View’s ongoing research relates to the property itself.

We are now in the middle of a Flora Audit. For further information, please see the Stable ‘View’ - our in-house emailed quarterly newsletter that keeps us all on the same page regarding what’s going on here.
